  1. Nah, i won't be changing mine any time soon now  I did fit ARP studs though as i could see me having the head off again in the future.
  2. Its these bits Spring clutch release arm retaining 12141741 Lever clutch release arm 02J141719B Redborbet, is yours a NA VR or are you going turbo, reason i ask is i just built an engine and never looked too much into head gasket, i just bought a kit on here as someone happened to be selling it, was a victor reinz, single layer gasket, didn't feel like metal on the outside it was sort of glazed with rubber  but felt like it had metal inside it. I just worry now
  3. Quite a list of parts at the end of the chain swap guide. http://wiki.the-corrado.net/clutch_and_timing_chains_replacement_part_2.html Tensioner Golf Mk4 top pad 021109509E Bolt tensioner for Golf Mk4 top pad 021109507B I would replace clutch fork, i didn't do mine and it ended up bending, I'd bought the part but for some reason decided not to fit it (twice)
  4. I think the newer throttle body realign themselves or you can do it in vagcom. It may be that its sorted itself out.
  5. Mounted my new tweeters this evening. I just drilled the old tweeters out with a hole cutter I borrowed. Not sure they will fit under the speaker grille angled like I have them. Can get in fitting the dash now.
  6. I thought a stainless inlet was a bit posh.
  7. I thought about mounting them in the inside of door pockets. They seem a bit big to hid in the dash. I suppose glove box could work. I did wonder if I could buy some equivalent inline crossovers. Can't see why these infinity ones are so large.
  8. Not sure where I'll mount the crossovers. They are quite large. Going to try and hide them on inside of dashboard
  9. Can't remember why I went off them. I emailed them about it. Sounded like they buy them in.
  10. If you can get the window down you can get a bit of bent rod in there to lift the lever near the shutting latch. It's fiddly though.
  11. Yeah exhaust ones are the same. I looked about for a manifold recently. Couldn't find the raceland ones anymore and the supersprint is expensive. Apparently lhd fit the same. All the supersprint ones seem to be lhd. I ended up with standard manifolds and a techtonics downpipe.
  12. Well took your advice and got this for the front. Might go and fit tweeters in a bit.
  13. i think i will get them, won't be for another 6 months though.
  14. I think i saw that car up at Stealth in september time and was wondering what the wheels were, looked very nice up on the ramps. Same colour as mine, that would be my next dilemma, silver or black.
  15. I have bought loads of different paints and sealants over the years. I think the prep has let me down in the past. Rushed a few bits But seems to have stopped the rust getting any worse over the last 2yrs. I will be treating most of it with eastwood rubberised rust encapsulator. It's just one spray. Not used it yet though. Have used por15 in the past. That stuff dries to a really tough finish. But if your prep is bad it just peels off in one big layer. Got a underseal gun with the big long hose and 2 big tins of cavity wax. So plan to have a day of filling all the sills and chassis rails etc. I just buy it all from frost automotive. Most have most of the paints they sell now. I don't think my underseal will blend in as it's Black. But I find it good to know what bits I've done. Took ages cleaning all the brush on waxoyl black tar stuff from the front arches. Not sure why I put it on. Clutch master is the original but sent it off to pastparts.co.uk. someone on here told me about them. Cost about £100. New one from vw was £174.
  16. I just fancy something bigger. Will keep the speedlines as well. These seem quite nice. Quite light. Decent make and easy to clean.
  17. Quick effort, nicked a corrado pic from google.
  18. They have lots of the push in type ones http://www.bresco.com/acatalog/Buttons__Studs_and_Fir_Tree_Buttons.html Is loads of bits on that site, not searched all the categories
  19. am sure i've had them in other cars, might be on that trim shop, i'll google it.
  20. haha, looks familar, i've just spent ages cleaning all mine with a toothbrush and rags and lots of white spirits, as i can't use the hose in garage.
  21. I will have a go at photoshopping them on, i think they might look great.
  22. Took rear bumper off to check for rust, found a few bits. This bit isn't so bad, should be quite easy to fix Little bit in wheel arch This is where it got bad, this is the hole that was in the boot area from earlier in thread. Inside the hole Outside, is quite a bit of metal that needs cutting out and underneath I think this must all be from the rear light leaking, should of spotted it earlier but the factory underseal hides it so well. as i broke the underseal with the chisel, a load of manky old black water came out. I will fix it up, so not too worried really. It'll just delay everything. Dropped the fuel tank, wasn't too bad underneath really, hose clips had perished away though, which might explain the fuel smell i was getting. Had a quick clean up of a suspension turret, just surface rust really.
  23. Cheers. Should all be worth it. It's 20yrs old soon. Should have another 10-20yrs in it after this is done. Been chasing rust today. That bit in the boot has led to quite a rotten rear end. Will get the photos up soon. Going to need more welding. I think I'm going to try it this time and borrow my mates welder.
  24. Been doing random bits over the xmas holiday, actually started putting bits back on the car so must be going in the right direction. Got the Duraseal connectors and repaired the wiring and got the new ABS loom all connected up, Much prefer these to soldering, they are great to use. Fusebox back in place Fitted heater matrix back in, along with some of the ducts etc, ABS ecu has gone from this area, (which seems better) Clutch master fitted. Then got the pipe flaring kit out, another good bit of kit, never made a duff flare with it so far Fitted the new Brake master cylinder and made a few brake pipes, just got the two rear ones to do
