  1. I have powerflex bushes on my rear beam and my rear is too hard, tried quite a lot of different shocks/springs etc, am about to go back to standard bushes.
  2. Should just slide up the shock body and has a circlip underneath to adjust the height.
  3. Is it much work to convert to OBD2? What bits are needed? Only ask as my car is in bits again, just if its worth me doing this mod as well.
  4. I have a James Products ultrasonic cleaner http://www.amazon.co.uk/JPL-8050-Professional-Ultrasonic-Cleaner/dp/B000YCGWKQ (was a bit cheaper when i bought it) You can use it with just plain water or a few drops of washing up liquid. I do have the proper cleaning liquid, but machine seems to do well without it.
  5. 4no. 15" 5x100 Golf VR6 BBS Wheels 4no. 15" BBS wheels from Golf VR6, 5x100, Part number: 1H0 601 025 AA. All in great condition, two of them were new from VW (there are some small marks on the face and some scratches to the inside, the other two have just been powder coated. Note: the powder coated ones are slightly darker then the original ones, tried to get the closest match possible, won't be noticeable if you use them on different sides of the car. 6. 4no, 5x100 15" Steel Wheels 4no. Steel wheels, 5x100, Part number: 1J0 601 027 AB, 6J ET38 I bought these off a forum member a few years back, i've never used them or fitted to car. I recall him telling me they don't fit over 288mm brakes, I can't confirm if they fit over 280mm brakes? Someone on here may know. I think they were from a Mk4 Golf or the modern Beetle, They were purchased new from VW (by previous owner). They are in great condition, they do have slight rust in places and on the inside of wheel rim. 7. 4no. 195/50 R15 Winter tyres 4no 195/50R15 Winter tyres, all hardly used (see pics). 2no. Dunlop SP Winter Sport 2no. Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip I've done about 500miles on the Dunlops, and the Goodyears have done even less. Made a noticable difference in the snow/ice. Reason for selling is i won't be using the corrado in the winter any more. I plan to buy winter tyres for my Audi instead as i was so impressed with them. 8. Yeah I've seen these recently. Almost bought one but decided against it in the end.
  9. NIce one, thanks, will be off to VW next week to order these final bits.
  10. Techtonics in the USA have 15%-30% off. I bought a downpipe, ht leads, spark plugs, PAS seal kit and a knock sensor spacer. Came to about £340.
  11. I've been doing the grinding paste on a bit of glass (chap at work told me about it) to clean up the surfaces on my inlet manifold, its quite a nice job to do. I used a double glazed window rested on top of the tumble drier and it made a right old rachet
  12. Only a vowel away from driving around in another man's jizz
  13. When I took my oil pump off I found quite a few bits of metal in there. Mainly from the chain top tensioner blade. Also noticed something had got into the piston and been eaten by the engine. Had loads of dents in the piston. I reckon that might of been a bit of spark plug had fallen off though.
  14. Just order the techtonics downpipe and a few others bits, like leads, plugs, and also some knock sensor bushing (not sure if i need it but for $15 i ordered one anyway, suddenly just realised should i have two of them?) Going to stick with my cat and magnex system for now. The black friday sale ends on monday if anyone else was thinking of ordering, you have to enter a code to get the discount.
  15. I think i have a spline adaptor, i took it off the old adjustable column Can see it here, on the top column with original nut and washer from corrado steering wheel. Apart from that, i had a new black sleeve bearing that i pushed into bottom of the new black tube, i have a spring about an inch long that i guess goes at the top of the column. Think thats all i have, just ordered a Febi lock housing.
  16. Wondering if i can get some help on this a bit confused with parts. I have ended up buying the bits new rather than a complete 2nd hand unit. Think i now have most bits, except: Bottom Spring 191419343, (i can go to VW and order this) The bits i'm not sure about are: Contact ring: 811 419 548A What does that look like? Clamping Washer: N901 824 01 Again not sure if i have this or not Should i just go to VW with those numbers?
  17. Do the coolant pipes pressurize after a drive? That was the main sign my gasket had gone, went on for ages before getting any of the other symptoms. Coolant was leaking into a piston while car was not being used, then in the morning it would idle quite rough until the cylinder was clear of water.
  18. Got more done last night, This ABS removal has been a massive job, imo its one of the biggest i've had to do. I think taking the engine out is easier  Rest of the ABS is out now, i can start cleaning the bay up properly now. Engine bay is getting emptier Interior looking even worse, got the column out to fit the fixed column i've had for ages. Have gone to fit the column and found i have loads of bits missing, i thought i bought a complete kit with everything i needed. I seem to need a whole lock housing bit?
  19. I bought one a few weeks back to put in my new engine build, can't be any harm in it, unless you get a cheap one and the magnet comes off and sticks to the crank. That could be interesting  Some people also use a magnetic band around the oil filter housing.
  20. Think I just used the standard ones. There are long and short versions. I think the hex head style are the longer ones and allen keys ones shorter.
  21. Got a reply from techtonics. Think I'm just going to order the downpipe only. Will wait until I've got engine in and run in. Will then get it mapped and see what power I get.
  22. What style is the tailpipe, i seem to remember it was just a round. Have currently got a magnex catback, which i spose i will sell on to help fund this.
