Both of my number plate lights on the rear of my C do not work. Q1 Are they in series or parallel i.e. will one work when the other one is blown? Q2 What fuse are they fead from and what else is fead from that fuse? Q3 Are the bulbs a VAG item or do Halfords do them? Cheers in advance Woody

I got new housings from the steeler and put my new style stalks on. The only problem i found was that the length of the cable from the late mfa switch ( the cable which runs down the right hand stalk) was shorter then the old style. I got round it by cutting the old stalk cable about a foot from the connector and also chopped the connector off the new one then spliced the cable together using heatshink to seperate the four cables which are all different colours. This allowed me to the the connector on its orignal place and not have flopping arround inside the housing vibrating.

I changed my girlfriends Polo front brakes to some from GPC. The disks were changed to Brembo's and much better pads. It made so much difference to the breaking. Much more solid!!!

Ordered and received some Audioscape door pods for my early style C Also got some Focal Access 165A's to put into the new door pods. couple of questions :- 1. The speakers come with smaller tweeters are these mounted in the dash in place of the existing speakers so that the sound bounces off the windscreen or in the door panel??? If they do go in the dash how do you mount then as they are smaller then the existing tweeters?? 2. Also where have people placed the crossover units??? Thankyou for any replies

Hope you get it sorted. I watched as you pulled away from the NEC when we met the other week for the seats. Even with the problem your C sounded well nice.

have you got the offside handle i seem to remember i had this problem with mine.( this may be complete b******s) There are different part numbers for later handles to the older ones maybe the lock barrel is different from early to late. I changed both of mine in about a hour.

I think john has a deal with Venom for FK Konisports but remember that you need to buy some replacement bolts from the steeler for lowered suspension which allow for the lowering setup things being at slightly different angles and also a laser alignment afterwards. John fitted my FK Koni's after my knightmare with supersports and the FK changed the car completely.

1. have a search on the forum for bonnet realease procedure. 2. Sort that oil first if the light is coming on under brakes check the level on the dipstick. Use the recommended oil Synta silver i think it is called from the dealer. 3. Sounds like a boost leak unless the person who had it before you fitted some kind of Blow off which is stuck open. 4. not sure about this one my temp guage did not work when i got my car and it was the temp sender on the front of the engine which was faulty 5. Not a clue but most of the people on here have binned the factory alarm and replaced with a CAT 1 and it pleases the insurance company Add in your profile where you are in the uk so people on the forum can recommend someone to go to for work. The sunroof seals were available in march from my steeler somewhere around £25

Mind you there are some people with or without corrados that get a mechanic to fit a chip and then expect a car that is a beast without fixing the basic things which could be wrong with a 8-13 year old car. My experience was buying a car which i loved and then finding all of the problems in the first 8 months and having them fixed one by one before even modifing anything i.e. exhaust, full service. Only after that when the car ran sweet enough did i get ported exhaust manifold replacement pipe for Cat and Audi intercooler and the respray. Bottom line you cant make a bag of bolts run well without first doing up some of the bolts and also replacing some of them as well.

Is there not a locking ring underneath the gear lever housing which can wear and cause difficult selection of 1st and 2nd.

VW always use G12 which is antifreeze for the winter and also a coolant in the summer I beleive. I run my G60 with it neat and my when my mum had her new polo serviced they used it as well neat.
-
bumper off lights out then you can get to all of the bolts. I think they were 10mm bolts
-
I beleive that when lowering the sus on a c you need to buy some extra bolts from VAg which allow for more adjustment in the camber. These bolts do not have a thread all of the way to the bolt head which allow for better adjustment as everything is at slighly different angles because of the lowering.

Will later door pods fit on to early door cards!!!!

Quite a few corrado have suspersports on here but this is my experience with them. I had supersport coilovers from richard at venom when they were £400 a set. My car had standard 15" BBS and bounced all over the place, i would go over a bump and the suspension would rebound three or four times before it settled down. I phoned richard thinking a had a friday afternoon set and he sent me a another complete set which were installed and the tracking was laser aligned. This did not help!!!! The problem i think was that the supersport coilovers were designed for the mk2 golf weight and could not handle the extra weight of the C. Anyway phoned up richard after about a month of getting headaches from just short journeys ( mind you the roads in bournemouth are cr*p) and he agreeded to allow me to pay the extra for a set of FK Koni Coilovers which have height and dampering adjustment. Well Happy now my car is only lowered about 40mm but the ride is great even on my 17" BBS
