CCGB Membership Fee Discussion Now Here: http://www.corradoclub.org/
pbradley98 replied to vornwend's topic in Off-topic Chat
If nothing else this thread has at least advertised the club and I for one am now tempted to join where as haven't really thought about it before! Will be an easy annual birthday or christmas present! Also would it be worth putting a sticky in the new members area to advertise the CCGB with website details, benefits, costs etc? Cheers Phil -
Cool - will await your verdict to see if I can nab it instead!
-
If Jeff doesn't want this I'll take it! Where abouts are you based in Cambridgeshire and assume that it's in working order on tilt and slide? Cheers Phil

That is a beautiful car! Tempted despite not needing / being able to afford / no where to keep!
-
Fitted the McGard to mine when I first got it, but as others have said I think you'd be pretty unlucky to have them taken! 15s probably won't go over most new cars brakes! Link to the product code 277368 for halfords is below - they're even the same price as when I bought them in August 2006 at £32.99! You can also get a VW locking wheel nut cap that just about fits which is VW part no 535601173C, which were £1.55 each back in April 2007 versus the standard caps which were only £0.18 each! http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_193561_langId_-1_categoryId_262855#tab1

It might just be disconnected! Had an emergency radiator replacement at a garage I won't be going back to and amongst other things they forgot to reconnect it once they'd finished fitting the rad and were putting it back together!

thinking of P/X ing my Storm for an E46 M3 - will I regret it?
pbradley98 replied to jpowell79's topic in General Car Chat
Would other M3 drivers wave at you?!! I'd miss that alone if I sold the Corrado! -
Use mine as a daily for a 30 mile round trip of A roads with 4 miles of town and average about 28mpg per tank - MFA gives a more generous MPG figure but I've more confidence in number of miles since last fill up / number of gallons need to refill! Petrol isn't cheap, but the price is worth it in my books!

Just dived in to this too - Conti TS830s 235 45 17s now fitted on the A4 and for the C just ordered Hankook W310s in 195 50 15s (£65 a corner fitted and balanced) to go on a spare set of speedies that I've got sat in the garage.....

http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?77857-280-Brakes-Wiper-Arm-Drivers-footwell-kickplate-Cracked-RHS-front-indicator See above for a cracked late front drivers indicator - open to offers!

Managed 136 on a track day.. That was fun!

Having a bit of a clearout so have the following on offer.... everything is from a 94 VR6. 280 front brakes following recent upgrade to 288s, taken off car after 145k, fitted with pagid fast road pads with some life left in them. On one of the brake hoses the hardline is seized in the thread (see photo), so would probably need replacement unless you can get it out! Need a bit of a clean up but were working fine when then were taken off the car in May this year. If collecting welcome to the disks as well, but otherwise these probably aren't worth the extra postage cost... £20 plus postage? Wiper arm from a late VR - part no. 536935409B - afraid can't remember if this is a drivers side or passengers side arm! £10 plus postage Drivers footwell kickplate in light grey £10 plus postage Cracked late spec drivers indicator (535953142B) £10 plus postage Collection or local delivery from Oundle or Peterborough If I'm way off the mark on any of the prices let me know as I'm just guessing but hopefully they're reasonable! Cheers Phil

Hi, I've got a standard VR6 setup (shocks & springs) just sat in my garage from when I upgraded to Konis / H&Rs about a year and a half ago... pm me if you'd be interested and we can see if we can work out a price and postage.... For what it's worth original suspension = more comfortable, but more roll in corners until you go really hard at which point it seems to firm up a bit, Konis / H&Rs are a bit harsher for everyday driving but much flatter through the corners, still waiting to see how they compare on a track day as haven't managed one since the upgrade! Cheers Phil

Dil was looking for one a few weeks back....
-
Surely none of those Amazon sellers have ever sold one!
-
Despite good fsh and receipts from previous owners and looked after for everything since I've had her from 96k mine needed a rebuild at 143k as it was starting to go through a couple of litres of oil every 1000 miles. As said above, confirmed by blue smoke on lift off and also spark plugs on 1 & 6 were covered in oil as they're generally the ones that go first due to bore ovalisation. Rebuild well worth it though!

Have you got a part number for the ISV off the Audi / what audi was it off? Don't really fancy the £250 for a new one from VW....... Thanks Phil

PM sent....

Hi All, Not sure if there'll be many takers on here for this (plus hope this doesn't break any forum rules - sorry if it does and let me know to remove!), but thought I'd give it a try anyway just in case as even if it means 1 ticket is sold it's worth it! My brother in law and a friend are taking on something that makes owning a Corrado look like a sane and cheap hobby! Next year they are taking part in the trans atlantic rowing race, where they will be taking on a 3000 mile race in something not much larger than a C! It'll be rowing 24 hours a day between the two of them for between 50 - 70 days, with nothing more than a shoebox cabin to shelter in from the worst of the weather when it gets too bad to continue.... The aim of this is to raise £250k for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, who are pioneering research into the causes of the disease and who are a charity that my family has a very personal link to due to first hand experience of the disease. As part of their fundraising they have been given a pair of VIP tickets for the XFactor semi final on Saturday 24th November which are up for raffle at £10 a ticket, from which all the proceeds will go to the charity, as per the details in the two attached pics. Cheers Phil Ps - if anyone does enter would be great if you could let me know! Thanks...

VW legal department hitting out at fan websites again
pbradley98 replied to Tempest's topic in General Car Chat
I've actually had pretty good service from my VW dealership when I've needed parts - the guy on the parts desk used to give me a 20% discount purely because I had a Corrado! Sadly he's since moved on so no more discount, but his replacement is always really helpful trying to source parts and despite only going there every 6 months or so he immediately knows me and seems genuinely interested in helping out with an old car. -
I can confirm that it does fit! Quite a tight fit though! Good to meet you Iain and thanks for the boot - the spoiler mech winds up and down significantly better than on mine so will be switching it over shortly! Unfortunately two of the three clips on the plinth were already broken, but I'll just have to work out a way to stick it on (assuming that when I do take it off that I manage to keep that 3rd clip intact!) as is still in better nick that my current plinth that has all three snapped and is bowed in the middle! Cheers Phil

Sounds fair enough - wouldn't be able to collect til next week now though if that's ok?

VW Medical kit box that goes in the rear seat hump.
pbradley98 replied to VWVW's topic in Suppliers Forum
A new VW one cost me £18, but that was a few years ago so probably gone up a bit by now! -
Hi, Sorry for slow response, that's a bit more than I was planning as only need a couple of brackets off it. Will stick in a bid on eBay but suspect you'll get more from someone else. Cheers Phil
