  1. Oh no, that's terrible news :( I met him a couple of times, was a really nice guy
  2. I think using the fog lights in really cold weather is what breaks the glass
  3. Yep, BMW E30 fog light lens is what someone fitted, they look similar to the Corrado's https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en-GB&rlz=1T4GGHP_enGB730GB730&biw=1680&bih=871&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=BMW+E12+E21+E28+E30+Fog+Light+&oq=BMW+E12+E21+E28+E30+Fog+Light+&gs_l=psy-ab.3...4056.4056.0.4303.1.1.0.0.0.0.42.42.1.1.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..0.0.0....0.pUt134CaYfA I think the problem with the original Corrado lenses is that they don't use tempered glass, and crack either from stones or the heat of the light. A repro lens with tempered glass would be ideal :)
  4. Wow, that's crazy that VW have discontinued some of these parts.. ffs I had a look on VW Heritage, and the chains and guides are on there. Annoyingly, it's the smaller bits (bolts etc) that are now obsolete!
  5. Yep, sounds about right, if it's all genuine parts. Did mine in 2005, along with a new clutch & flywheel, and it came to over £600 for the parts You might be able to get a 10% discount if you're friendly with your $tealer :)
  6. Blimey, they are pricey.. I used to buy genuine VW ABS sensors, but they fail so often I thought I might as well try a cheapo ebay one for a tenner. I've had cheap ones for a few years and they work just fine. They're only magnets at the end of the day. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-53I-2-9-VR6-Genuine-Intermotor-Front-Left-ABS-Wheel-Speed-Sensor-/361505879251?hash=item542b6df4d3:g:21sAAOSwHoFXrseP At this price you've not really got much to lose :)
  7. The £10 ones on ebay aren't Lupo GTI wipers, from what I've seen. They are the 'hook' type, which fit the original Corrado wiper arms, but don't clear the screen as well, from my experience. The original wiper arms on the Corrado were always a bit of an issue, as they don't press down on the screen that well.
  8. That looks lovely, good luck with sale! :thumbleft:
  9. I've had my hockey puck thing for about 4 years, still feels solid after many uses :-)
  10. This pic shows the jacking points on a corrado, although I'm not convinced the blue arrows are too safe! I tend to use a trolley jack on the red arrows, where there's an indent marked on the sill. I also use a rubber hockey puck thing with a groove but into it, to prevent damage to the jacking point. There's a few on ebay, like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Universal-DIY-Car-SUV-Slotted-Frame-Rail-Hydraulic-Floor-Jack-Disk-Rubber-Pad-/201921311510?fits=Car+Make%3AVW&epid=869731199&hash=item2f0372b316:g:38gAAOSw4CFY2ITF (Double check the depth of the cut-out, as this particular one may not be right!) For the front, I'd put jack stands (with a piece of rubber on them) inboard of the blue arrows, where you can see the chassis box section. On the rear, try to position it around the green arrow. Disclaimer: Do this at your own risk :-) I've never had a car fall on me, but you can never be too safe. Slide a wheel under there too, for more piece of mind!
  11. Hi Giles, was great to meet you too, thank you for those kind words :) I look forward to following your progress, and seeing you at a show
  12. Nope, to me :-) My manifold is provisionally sold to Geeba
  13. Here's some pics of the manifold. Was a bit dirty when I purchased it, so was planning on sanding it down through various grades. Just needs a weekend or so of graft :-) Looking for £900 collected (dirty manifolds on ebay were going for a lot more than that!)
  14. I've got a 2nd hand one in my garage, I bought some time ago, never fitted it. I started sanding it down, with the intention of giving it a polished look, but didn't get a chance to finish it. All the bits are there, and I have photos of how it all goes back together, plus a couple of new gaskets. Let me know if you're interested :-) I'm in North East London, so not that far from you
  15. Plenty on ebay, part #0392020024 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-BOSCH-VW-VOLKSWAGEN-SEAT-FORD-AUXILIARY-WATER-ELECTRIC-PUMP-0392020024-/162336472458?hash=item25cc01fd8a:g:h7sAAOSw8oFXzwR5
  16. Part number 191837199 https://www.vwheritage.com/191837199-clip-for-use-on-the-lock-operating-rod-various-models http://www.t4srus.co.uk/vw-t4-t5-door-latch-linkage-clip-191837199-20692-p.asp http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-MK2-Golf-GTI-Genuine-OEM-Tailgate-Locking-Pin-No-191837199-BRAND-NEW-/281057926852
  17. That's mine :) I can vouch for the quality of the seal, definitely worth changing if the original is falling apart
  18. I placed an order last night for some bits and pieces from here: http://www.shop4volkswagen.co.uk/ They're a dealer based in Kent: http://www.shop4volkswagen.co.uk/article/about_us
  19. You should be able to add your image, try formatting it like this, with square brackets: [noparse][/noparse] This might help: http://the-corrado.net/misc.php?do=bbcode#imgcode
  20. I had a '92 G60 a few years back, it also had a late bonnet & wings but 90mm spoiler and early heater controls and window switches. 92/93 was a crossover point, as early VR's (J/K reg) had the old style interior switches too
  21. The original center caps are 58mm, part number 1H0601171BBXF You never know, the 56mm might fit :)
  22. My links don't work either.. bloody forum! You'll have to cut and paste them :)
  23. Your link is broken (forum keeps messing them up..) Try this: http://tinyurl.com/jaclzgr Definitely looks like a scam. There's quite a few 'too good to be true' ads on pistonheads from this trader at the moment: http://tinyurl.com/zqdvpll http://tinyurl.com/jmfdu8g They have no physical address, just a contact email.
