I'm sure the 150 diesel is offically badged as a 'GTI' 130 is TDI 110 is TDI Do they have a full red TDI badge? That's probably a 150 too... VW like to confuse us :? -

You can read up on them here:  http://www.fk-automotive.de/en/ Click on 'Suspensions' Highsports dont use koni shocks, and they arent damping adj. Konigs/Silverlines use koni shocks As for choosing stainless / galvanized, well, I dont mind paying an extra £65 over the regular konigsports, if it means they'll last considerably longer :) And I'm planning on keeping my corrado, so I dont wanna be replacing the suspension again any time soon -

From what I've read on the E38 thread, the SilverlineX (stainless height + damping adjustable) are £565 including delivery Normal silverlines are £550 (height adj. only) Konigsports are £500 (Not stainless steel, but galvanized and height + damping adj.) I'm probably gonna get some Silverline X's from them shortly  -

Silverline X are height & damping adjustable, I believe. Normal Silverlines are just height adjustable Dunno about the drop, I think 60mm, but im not 100% sure -
I'll give him a call and find out what paint he uses And £3k - bang on  But.. That's excluding all the extra parts I bought, which break when they have to remove them. Front door window surrounds in particular. So that cost several hundred more... If you took it to him totally stripped down, glass out etc. it would obviously cost a lot less I think he under estimated just how much had to come off when he gave me the original quote. And he told me the paint cost him a lot more than he'd first thought (although he wouldnt give me figures..) The place is called "EN Auto Works", Willesden, North London. I'll dig out the phone number tonight

Of course! He's no cowboy

Cheers guys When I first saw it last week, just before they'd finished, I was truly amazed. It really did look like a brand new corrado (Apart from the scabby wheels ) The old paint was sh!t - didnt look anywhere near as pearlescent. The guy that sprayed it says whoever painted it last must have used cheap paints. The glass wasnt even removed last time it was painted, and the laquer was peeling around the windscreen. Hence my choice for a full respray
-
Shame, looked really nice: :( http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... ight=storm

Jesus  Poor Corrado.. I've seen that car on this forum before, dont know who's it is though
-
Yeah I think I might buy some FK Silverline X's sometime soon. All I'm planning is a suspension drop, white repeaters, and of course, a supercharger 8) I've been thinking about putting the side strips back on - what'dya reckon? Clean lines like it is now, or stick em back on?
-
The pictures dont do it justice, it looks fantastic in the flesh 8) BTW, I bought it last year off your mate with all the Storms lol  Got the work done from a guy in Willesden, North London. Got him to spray my mk2 GTI about 7 years ago, and that still looks mint. He's a Jag/Daimler/Bentley specialist and he used all the top quality paints for the job 8) But obviously, it dont come cheap. At the end of the day, I know the bodywork will be sound for years. The guy that came to remove/refit the glass while it was at the workshop couldnt beleive what an amazing job they've done, and he's taking his '60s beetle there for a restoration

Thanks Stel :D

oxfordpaul - yes my wheels are a right mess! Was gonna get them refurbed, but may well be interested in your set, I'll PM you :D How much did it cost? Lets just say I've spent a couple of months wages   And yeah, I dont like having to leave it on the road like that... must find a house with a nice garage - but living in london means I've got pratically no chance of getting a mortgage
-
Anyway, 8 months on, and I decided to give it a full respray. Glass out, doors off, the works. I've ended up spending a fortune over the last month (respray costs + new parts) Now this is what Mysic Blue should actually look like! Picked it up from the sprayers today 8)
-
Thought it was about time to put a few pics up of my Storm This is what it looked like when I bought it, I always thought it looked rather dark, but the paint code in the boot was Mystic Blue, and I knew it had been given a full respray at some point prior to me buying it....

Time wasters... :2gunfire: Tell em you'll give them the £80 once the car has successfully been sold, see what they say...
-
Found this, thought I'd pass it on! http://www.edition38.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=4921 £500 for konigsports, I've very tempted  An extra £50 gets the Silverline, but they are height adjustable only, not damping adjustable Highsports are £368 Prices include delivery

I bought 2 from GPC on saturday, less than £40 each (includinng VAT) I asked him if they were discontinued, he didnt know what I was on about! But then again he also said corrados never came with a colour coded grille...
-
I asked GPC about these, they said it was for the Japanese model only (Hence the 'J' in the remarks column in ETKA) They said they werent able to order them :? Maybe Japanese regualtions require a 3rd brake light??

Take it to a gararge which has VAG-COM, get it plugged in (if you can start it  ) It will most likely narrow down the problem. If your car is a '95, the problem may lie with the transponder in your key or the coil next to the key barrel which picks up the key code If you've got a spare key, try using that. The stealers charge £50 to have your key code reset
