  1. Just been on the phone to them to ask about details of my cover.. In particular, in the event that I have to take the car to be repaired for accident damage, can I go to any garage I like. They said 'No, it must be one of our garages' :x  Well, I'd rather not be insured with them if that's the case... I only trust a garage that I've used in the past, and not some dodgy elephant approved one. How would I know their work would be to my standards??? Has anyone else had to claim through elephant in the past, and did they actually force you to use their own garages? What was the work like? I'm imagining that their 'repairers' would end up breaking bits, and giving me a 2nd rate paint job..
  2. Are you sure? Whenever I've tried starting the car with the clutch down (foot was on the clutch by accident) the car refused to start!
  3. Hmm, may be the same guy I bought my storm off? Sold to me with the V5 document covered in tippex....? Luckily the DVLA accepted it and sent me the new document! What was the road name?
  4. I can't recommend these guys enough, live savers! 8) http://www.nirro.co.uk They're off the A13 near the north circular, east london. click here for a map They've always got tons of stuff, wheels, engines, interior trim, you name it.
  5. Thanks biggrim, but I just bought a replacement from a breakers. What were the odds of me finding a mystic blue mirror anywhere?? Thank god I managed to find one. Cost £60, a lot more than the Ebay ones :| I'll put a note of the breakers in the servicing & suppliers forum, its dead handy, they've got loads of stuff, and not in some grotty outdoor scrapyard, its all neatly marked on shelves 8)
  6. Yes, I think it probably was :(
  7. Some ar$ehole decided to give me a modified door mirror last night.... Totally damaged the housing and glass, thanks a bunch    I dont even know whether it was some scumbag depressed footy supporter or a car that smacked it. The absence of any damage to the panels suggest it was some pikey scum  :x What do the mirrors cost complete with glass? I'm ready for a nasty shock :( /me sits down
  8. I know someone who used to work at VW when the corrado was new, and he said the cars had to be really taken apart when aircon was fitted new (dealer option, as they didnt come with AC from the factory in the UK). Apparently when the AC was fitted from new it was a windcreen & dash out job.. sounds like hell to me. Maybe there are companies who can do it without butchering the car, but im guessing they've probably never touched a corrado. So you run the risk of them bodging your car :|
  9. Most of the F1 fans will already know about the F1 parade in London on July 6th. Lucky I've got grandstand seats 8) I work at Oxford Circus :) http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=30450 I even managed to take pics when they did the england rugby team parade. I guess London has its good points, makes up for the expense of living here...
  10. Me five! I was thinking of sticking a pic up of a nice Karman Ghia right here, but I dont want to mess the guys thread up  Always loved those cars, but they must be as slow as molasses Nice tidy G60 you have there :)
  11. Yeah, but he probably prefers to be 'special' :)
  12. Oh dear, what a chav
  13. I was putting E$$o super unleaded. The nozzle fits fine in my mk2. I'll try $hell next time, see if their nozzle fits :) Phew, I was getting worried for a minute... thought I'd never be able to fill the tank properly
  14. I've just come back from the petrol station. Took me about 10mins to fill the tank halfway before I gave up  :x The fuel nozzle refused to go in, except for its tip. This meant I couldn't squeeze the pump more than very lightly, otherwise fuel would overflow and the pump would cut out.. Does this look like your corrado filler neck? Or is mine a bit faulty? :x My mk2 filler neck certainly looks nothing like that! Should the metal flappy-bit (in the middle of the photo) be further down the neck? And how the hell do I fix it? :? Cheers guys
  15. Yeah thats not what I meant :) Just that its yearly service is every september, which happens to be the same time as the MOT. So I'd rather wait til then if possible to get my mechanic to sort it all out  I've got no idea how to change an engine mount  Maybe it's time I learnt!
  16. I dont think such a beast exists.. they all sting you unless you go for a year :|
  17. Oh dear :( It's MOT & service is due in Sept. Is it safe to wait til then? :|

    1st gear

Not a problem as such, but might be early symptoms of one?? When I'm in 1st gear, at low speeds, I've noticed that the gear stick moves back and forth by about 15mm. more noticeable when I've got my hand on the stick  The car drives fine, and it only seems to happen in 1st. Any clues?? :?
  19. I need some too, GPC isnt far from me so maybe I'll pay them a visit I wonder if they've also got any Storm badges  (yeah I know they won't  )
  20. Cheers mate, I'll probably rip the thing out this weekend :x I've now had to leave it with the alarm off :( Not much fun when it wakes up the neighbourhood at this time of the night
  21. This bloody alarm has got a mind of its own :x It goes off for no particular reason, then refuses to switch off! Must fit a new one... :|
  22. Are the armor plates the same as the Golf ones?
  23. Update: The problem was bloomin obvious  The negative wire leading into the bulb connector had no current, but the other wire did. Turns out that this is pretty common, and the area is a water trap. My bro-in law reckons the neg. contact corroded away. He had the exact same thing happen on his ABS sensor on his VR6 highline. Apparently it has an indetical connector. It took him ages and loads of ££££ before he realised it was one dodgy wire! (I'll take a photo of the wire tonight incase it isnt clear) So he knew as soon as he saw my indicator wire he knew what the problem was :D One to remember, when the ABS sensor plays up.
