  1. These look pretty cheap! £460 inc vat  click here! Comes with koni springs though.. Are they pants?
  2. Probably been asked before, but I have searched and couldnt really find an answer. Best place to get Koni TA's for around 600 squids (or less!) ? And HR springs, of course. Does anyone give club discounts and such like? I knew I should have got some at Inters... But I didnt have the corrado then. What colour are they - So I know I'm not getting fleeced :D Yellow? Red? Pink?
  3. Not sure if this belongs in 'Body Mods', but anyway.. What is the part number for the rear 'Storm' badge? I couldnt find it in the parts catalogue. I remember someone on here saying that VW dont do them anymore, but I also heard somewhere that manufacturers have to provide parts for at least 10 years after a model is discontinued. And a storm is less than 10 years old. Maybe I should go and hassle the stealers. :?
  4. Power steering related perhaps?
  5. I picked up my VR6 today, and was chuffed to get upto 34mpg on my 20mile journey home. Although after flooring it a couple of times, the economy dropped slightly, but still ended up a very respectable 32.4mpg. 8) My bro-in law was with me in his mk2 16v, and he only just managed to get 32mpg, he was amazed at my figure; he reckoned I'd be lucky to get high 20's
  6. Coulldn't agree more. I think it's because VW always run their engines in a far more de-tuned state than they can actually handle. Hence why their reliability (in standard form) is highly regarded. We all know the VR6 is a tough engine, and could quite easily handle more power (like a supercharger  ) without blowing up. Likewise with the 1.8T - 150bhp (or 180) in standard form from a 20v turbo? Thats only about 11bhp than a N/A MK2 16V! The G60 can crank out 190bhp safely, but VW decided to play it safe with a smaller pulley and keep it at 160bhp And so on :?
  7. Elephant saves the day :| Had to buy a 12month policy :x , which im planning to cancel and get a refund mid july. Then I can switch my 8yrs current no claims over to the Rado. Phew. Why does no one insure cars for 1/2 months at a time?
  8. Herts Insurance Consultants. Also go by the name of 'Tw@ts'
  9. AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH They're just taking the piss now!   I was told at 11am that I'd get a call back from the sales dept within 30mins. Not a peep. I just rang them - 'Sorry our offices are closed.' F$%&^&*£$%!!! I'm supposed to be picking up the VR6 tomorrow... Now WTF am I gonna do, drive it back uninsured?? :x  They can kiss my ar$e if they think I'm staying with them
  10. Bunch of clowns  I've been with them for about 6 years, and everytime I need to go for a renewal, I get put on hold for an eternity..... :x This morning, waited an hour, called em about 4 or 5 times after repeated disconnections... They always seem to have the best quotes, and the people there are pretty knowledgable, but for GODS SAKE they need to sort out their f***ing phone system! Surprise surprise, I managed to get straight through to the sales department  but they dont do quotes
  11. I think my bro in law has got the silver gearknob, not 100% sure.. Might need a spare 'Storm' badge incase mine gets nicked (once i've paid and bought it, of course  ) I wonder if trimsport do them... I seem to remember reading on here that they cant be bought anywhere nowadays  Thanks for all the help :)
  12. Anyone know where I can get hold of a VW Motorsport gearknob or badge? By bro-in law is after 'em. Some theiving gypo yanked off the grill on his MK2 16v just for the badge :x If you arent sure what I'm on about, look at g-man's avatar, thats what the parts look like :)
  13. That article was from '98, and I think stealth were using his corrado as a guinea pig for their turbo conversion; hence the high price back then. Now they probably do it cheaper. (Certainly hope so  )
  14. Stuff like this really does my head in... Whats the point in insurers saying they give a protected/guaranteed no claims bonus (never understood the difference between the two..) but then penalising you if you have to make a *NON-FAULT* claim?!??! At the end of the day, it's the other guy's insurers that pay out, so why the hell do they have to screw us??  Does anyone on the forum work for the insurance industry and could they explain any of this?
  15. Didn't HIC say anything about it being valued over £5000?
  16. I'd be tempted to fit a huge spike either end of my car, if ever I lived in france  :D
  17. Its not just parkling dings that do my head in, its the neighbours around wear I live..... :x The woman 2 doors down seems to think its fine to use a car's bumper as her personal parking aid! I caught her doing it to my car, even heard a thump! :x I stormed out and had a right go at her, effing and blinding, and she was like 'oh sorry i didnt realise...' Thing is she STILL does it - to other people in the road.. She's learnt NOT to park anywhere near me nowadays! Also... Some tw@t managed to wedge his car in a space clearly not big enough for him, ramming my dad's car in the process. I mean there was NO room whatsoever, either end of his shitbox. He even had a towbar, which damaged my dads bumper.... When my dad went and shouted at him, he was like 'Oh i didnt hit your car at all' even though I was f*cking obvious, and our neigbour witnessed it all. We even asked him how he expected to get out of the space, and he just went all quiet.. He mentioned that when he was living in france, this sort of thing was acceptable all the time! WTF??! I hear the french park without leaving their handbrakes on...
  18. I bet he still got flashed and fined 3 points
  19. I reckon if everyone in the country stopped buying petrol for a week, we'd see the government and petrol companies crumble. Shame that's never likely to happen though... :x
