A mate of mine has just emailed to say that Schumacher has pulled out of his much publicised return to Ferrari as the F2007 test has stuffed his neck again... nothing on BBC or itv-f1 though!? Edit: there is now... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8186319.stm Ball.bag. :(

Caught sight of a nugget C, front plate mounted in top corner of windscreen (G***TAG possibly?), coming past Southampton Audi yesterday afternoon around 16.45ish Second C I've seen in the vicinity in recent days as I also followed a low and wide grey C at the Hursley Road/Winchester Road roundabout last Weds afternoon at 5pm.

Apols if it's a pea-roast... loving this:

Are the Alpine units just 'plug & play' or do the door cards and speaker mounts need modding to accommodate them?
-
It's no secret that Algae-sweetlumps or whatever his name is does not have that seat secured. Motorsport press were already commenting on Loeb getting the Abu Dhabi drive at Toro Rosso at the last race

Schumacher & Alonso in Ferrari together!! Would be very entertaining, to say the least!  8) 8) 8) interesting maybe, but I think the fact that Ferrari are prepared to bring Schumi back in over any newcomer, or former F1 driver screams 'team stability' as the key so much that I can't see any other personnel changes before the end of the season...
-
For all his faults, I was always a Schumi fan andim torn between thinking this is actually pretty damned cool and thinking (like others) that this is not the sport he left in 2006. For all those that commented on how great it would have been to see Schumacher vs. Hamilton - it seems that hitherto fantasy match up is on - albeit that the McLaren on recent performance seems to be the better car than the Ferrari... But ignoring all that surely it's got to be a record to have 4 world champions racing off the grid at the same time too?

CF F1 Fantasy League 09 -Final results...who won, who lost?

Point taken... but like you said, less inconsistent than he used to be. I think the Alonso/Ferrari link up is inevitable - the rumours linking him to that seat have been grumbling for too long. If I'm not mistaken both Felipe and Kimi are out of contract with Ferrari at the end of this season, so it would have been easy to put Fernando into Raikkonen's seat (who, let's be honest, Sunday aside, has not shown his previous form since 2007 now), with Felipe re-newed alongside... obviously the latter is out of the question now, so it'll be interesting to see what happens as I can't see Kimi letting Ferrari re-organise themselves around Alonso and having him play second fiddle :? As above, the lad has been entertainment value if nothing else... and is obviously respected by his peers - just look at his little aside to Webber on the podium in Germany... As for new boy AquaSerious, he's the first non-Sebastian in a Toro Rosso in a while and the only one on the grid who doesn't shave yet  -

Just heard this too and couldn't agree more - he's definitely world champion material now, overcoming the consistently erratic* form he showed in the Sauber days, it'd be a shame if he couldn't race again, but I guess rather that than something more serious. Forza Felipe! *if that makes sense?!?! -
T'aint cheap that's for sure... I must be getting old too as the devious fecks are charging to park at the event - as if you somehow had a choice about how to get there? ...and £20 a car too dammit! :mad2: If LoG are playing the Sunday, I'll give 'em a look and report back...

OK, so NIN was a belter  ... didn't get The Day The World Went Away, but we did get Gary Numan joining the band onstage to do 'Metal' and a monster version of 'Cars' :notworthy: So good, that the wife and I are off to Sonisphere the weekend after next to see 'em again on the final, final, last ever UK live date... plus of course we may have to stick around for bill toppers Metallica 8)

NIN... buckets of it. In prep for the wave goodbye at o2 tomorrow night. Heresy, Ruiner, Wish and La Mer will be awesome live  :salute:

...and folk who entirely lack the appreciation for what they're driving. I guess I just associate the C with a crowd who have bought it for it's handling, general automotive press kudos, modern classic status and relative uniqueness on roads full of 'bland'. Just another GTi or R32 it is not (with apols. to the R32 set amongst us). 8)

I regularly see that guy near the roundabout or around Commercial Road in Southampton... he's never waved nor acknowledged me yet either. Obviously driving a C under duress :cuckoo:

I have this on pre-order as a little treat to myself... it's gonna be immense! 8) http://warp.net/records/warp20/warp20-box-set-first-tracklistings-confirmed

Several nice choices here folks... I'm sure I've done a top ten on here before, so won't repeat apart from one: ...a reasonably affordable, classic 90's V6 coupe with the potential for much pain in the wallet :luvlove: ...even if the one I caught sight of at Goodwood had the owner out with a portable charger trying to start it in order to drive home

damn... really? the alternator is only about 2yrs old, so I hope it's not got a problem already :( looks like i'd best start tinkering at the weekend and see what's doing... thanks chap!

Driving back from South Wales on M4 yesterday evening, I was trucking along merrily, stereo on, when I hit the rain around J17 at Chippenham. I switched on the headlights and had a brief power fade/cut out from the engine. The stutter was so brief I figured I was over-reacting and that there was nothing to it. About a mile later I kicked the indicator on while changing lanes and there was a much more significant 'moment' as the engine died completely at about 75mph - enough to also note the dash lights disappear, stereo to cut out and wipers to pause. I disengaged the indicators almost as soon as I sensed this mechnical-fart and drove the rest of the way along the M4/A34/M3 without playing with any of the electrics - finally needing to indicate near Southampton, where there was no sign of the previous fault. Is this likely to just be a lighting related short or the typical 'beginning of the end' of the coil pack?

Surely you'd be better off just spraying this one Nugget Yellow, transplant in a working heater and be done with it  -
...yeah, there's also a distinct lack of British fayre, like the Talbot Samba and Austin Allegro

...failed to wash it. Again.

Nearly caught out by uncancelled indicator.

I wasn't so lucky in similar circumstances, while driving my Mk1 GTi some years ago... a taxi in Portsmouth was indicating left while I waited to pull out and turn right onto the carriageway. I pulled out... he didn't turn. Result was a beaten inner and outer wing and my front o/s wheel & suspension ending up at 45 degrees to the tarmac... he then leapt out and balled me out in the street and his proper ugly-stick beaten passenger declared that she would be off work for a fortnight and was suing me for the incurred whiplash injury of the cab stopping suddenly. Luckily the witnesses were in my favour and the cab firm paid for my repairs... not sure what happened to the screaming bint though
