  1. actually, thinking about it, i think Karl had RK11s which i think are better for clearance than RX11s - if Kip is saying the RXs needed 16mm I doubt the RX11s are going to be any better, sorry dude :ignore:
  2. i completely want one of these, mentally fast, dropping GT3 RSs & Merc SLRs like flies at the Nurburgring, epic.. :salute: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=21822
  3. it might look a bit unbalanced if not and it would help keep the handling characteristics consistent
  4. yeah, dont sell them just on my say so! try them first with the adaptors and see what you think, its just not the ideal set up thats all!
  5. the main issue with the belt is that you wont be turning the water pump so the engine will not be getting cooled at all. whether it gets warm enough for that to be an issue or not is maybe unlikely but still a risk.
  6. just mostly the rubbing, people have views about the effect of spacers too but i dont have enough knowledge/experience on that to make an opinion from though..
  7. a million times better an idea! no-one will ever look twice at an R32 turbo outside a VW show because they'll never know what it is, where as people will always look at the corrado anywhere and then be even more blown away by what it is underneath, the mileage, the single owner, the history etc etc etc. no offence to the offerer, but there is no way anyone will treat the corrado as well as you have.. not that we're trying to influence you at all.. :D
  8. to be honest i would consider some different wheels, which i know is hard as i had 17in RX11s as well and they're ace.. not saying Karl didnt get away without rubbing but you're going to end up with ET23 which still isnt going to be ideal for a lowered car..
  9. me too, you sure you dont want to make Shaun a counter offer for his car and let me drive that to Dubai for you?! :D

    Bypass Matrix

not sure how much more i can explain it! disconnect the 2 hoses from the matrix in the bulk head, connect them to the connector and its done! i would find a picture but as you mentioned the hoses and the matrix etc. already i've been assuming you know which ones they are? if not then you can look in the matrix replacement threads and they'll show you the ones, but its the only 2 water hoses that go through the bulkhead of the car.
  11. I still think £35 for a courier is loads less hassle! :)

    Bypass Matrix

no, if you stop the circuit then you wont have any coolant circulating around your engine and you'll blow up very quickly! :) you just need something like this: matrix bypass.jpg[/attachment:2cfw1si1]

    Bypass Matrix

unclip the pipes from the matrix where it sticks through the bulkhead (when engine is cold). stick the end of each one onto the plastic connector you've bought from a plumbers shop and top up the coolant if lots came out. job done!

    Bypass Matrix

it could still be the matrix, am just surprised you say it resulted in coolant onto the bonnet, but then that could have been from something else and the matrix has still gone. anyway, bypassing it is fine and at least then you'll know if there's still a problem somewhere else if there were still leaks.

    Bypass Matrix

if its blown on the engine side of the bulkhead then that sounds like a hose rather than the matrix - when people say its gone, its normally to suggest that the exchange element within the dash is corroded and leaking. to bypass it you just need a double-sided plastic connector and cable-tie the pipes away from the exhaust
  16. Madness - if you feel like 4wd Shaun then please keep it and just save up and buy another car in a bit with what you save by not treating the C for a few weeks :)
  17. there is a vague possibility i'll be going to scarborough at some stage soon. but then your petrol to birmingham or in my case somewhere near london will be the same as a courier so i dont know if you'll save much?
  18. nice one, some people were trying to track these down recently
  19. i hope your signature doesnt mean that you've made a decision on this? I'm sure you'll get the money you're after (especially with aircon at the beginning of summer) so get an advert up. breaking is a pain in the arse and the car doesnt look like it deserves it?
  20. ... if you have a winning lottery ticket in your pocket for the price of the complete assembly!
  21. they'll give you a quote but it wont be better. as has been said they are the same company so wont compete against each other as they would just be throwing money away. they will only compete against a 3rd party, and then only if the 3rd party is also using a different underlying insurer because the underlying insurer wont compete against itself for different brokers either..
  22. so easily done Fay and to be honest, being in a convoy makes it even more likely most of the time i think. bad luck though, hopefully you can get a deal on fixing everything up together..
  23. yeah, absolutely not an alternative Vince, its just so that they can say to us that its not actually unavailable even though, at those servo prices, basically it is. but obviously another cynical step to profit from stocks of more expensive parts that include the small bit you actually need.
  24. Spoke to the local guy here and he said you can still get them as part of the servo itself when you order a new one of those, only £358.........
  25. i think there should be a difference made between trim or bodywork and safety or service parts though. this is a consumable item that is fundamental to the functioning of a vehicle and not something that can be allowed to wear out like cosmetic items. put another way, its the equivalent of not supplying brake discs anymore..
