    porsche d90s

how can we advise if you haven't told us how wide they are?! also, what makes you think you had a blow out due to tyre size? sounds very unlikely to me given the tyre size you were running already. I'm guessing the rears are 8s in which case 215 sounds just fine. If you're worried about it then you could run 225/40 but they might start to rub then depending how low the car is.

    stance???

your tyres are pretty small already (should be 195/50) so you should be able to get away with a reasonable amount - 10-15mm probably, but how wide are your wheels and what is their offset? without knowing that no-one could say for sure.
  4. it is a bit of a pain to change the wheels, normally you wouldnt but i was just trying out the 17s with track tyres. but they're too bald to be road legal though so i cant drive to the track on them. and Mic, the Combe day is similar to most others price wise, but i was disappointed at the short sessions last year, you only get 15 mins per session if you're lucky and they only give you 6 or 7 sessions for the day price which makes it expensive in comparison to open pitlane days or at least places that give you full 20 minute sessions. however, at combe, if you only do a few sessions, the positive is that if you choose to get instruction then you dont pay for both that and an extra session, the two are combined and you just pay the instructor. and last time i snuck back on to track afterwards again for a 3rd free session! at Brands you have to pay for the session and instruction which mounts up quickly. its still definitely a good track and thats cheaper than full days at some of the other well known proper tracks!
  5. it was only a novice day, morning session for £99. or, just a taster session, 20mins for £25!! :)
  6. ah, alright for some! do you get guest passes?!
  7. D or G, can you drive the car without the sensor in situ? I guess so and the light will just stay on right?
  8. aha.. just noticed your sig says Pro Race 3s. what size are they and any chance of a pic on the car? maybe in a different thread perhaps though..
  9. oh come on, we have to know what FTF stands for! just face to face?? oh and welcome along, not that you're a stranger! ;)
  10. quality all round :) so are you the first turbo kit customer then?
  11. remind us why you had an 8v auto again?! looks great, have fun!
  12. congratulations! nothing like some pessimistic comment to force someone to prove most of us wrong!
  13. cheers John, theres a fair few i guess now! even though I painted another set black myself i did actually buy these like this. not sure it works quite so well on the TTs but again, i think its the ride height that makes me question them too.. not sure I'm going to be able to make the Combe day sadly, but will post some other potentials later on.
  14. lol, happy to still take hints! think the car looks a bit tractory with them on but if a car is slightly lower they'd work i think :) most of them i bought from the photographer who was there for the day, wasnt bad value for a few of them.
  15. Didnt get round to updating this, so, firstly, here's some pics of Brands Hatch which as you can see was perfect weather and really good fun. The different elevations around the track make it so much more exciting! Shame the car was a bit dirty.. I'll post up some info about the next ones that look appealing after this..
  16. it didnt feel like anything was necessarily wrong with them Hasan, although relooking at stuff today reminded me that the shocks arent meant to be run with very low springs (>35mm) and so they could be struggling a bit.
  17. yes, i already confirmed that when people were looking at the brake pedal sensor thats been obsoleted too. you can get the whole lot (servo, m/cyl, sensor) for £350 still...
  18. its a bit red too ;) it depends how quickly it has to go. your ad sounds like you're a bit desperate. if you are then it needs to be less than 2k, if you're not then just keep waiting.
  19. to be honest, if the head's already been off and bits looked at then i wouldn't be that fussed about doing them. as you say, you can always get a replacement engine if the worst happens, but in the meantime, unless the clutch needs doing then you might not need to touch it for another 50k miles. if you dont do many miles then its not a big risk i wouldnt think.
  20. it depends, if you're prepared to take it apart and investigate you might get more because you might find its a small specific problem and you could sell the head/block separately. it might all be knackered though.. i was just responding to you as it was - strip it to pieces and maybe its worth 100-150?
  21. £50? they're only worth £3-400 when running so if yours needs a gasket or a rebuild its almost scrap in money terms unfortunately
  22. John, if dave isnt interested then they might be of interest to fla if they give a reasonable ride.
  23. no problem Hasan! Just saw this, might be worth a word with John to see what they're like if the other guy isnt interested? viewtopic.php?f=23&t=92344
