  1. wicked... thanks for that.
  2. well i finally got round to checking out the problem. At the back of the throttle body there are about 3 ports. One of them is blanked off the other one has the 1m line to the ecu. There is another one above this, the car is drawing air from there. If I block the hole with my finger the car idles fine again. Does anbody Know whats supposed to be in this hole? Am I ok just to run it blanked off or is there usually a screw or something that lives here?
  3. Excellent, cheers guys. I will try this out.
  4. My car idles fine until its warmed through and then once its up to temp at idle the revs fluctuate between 1000 and 1500 rpm. Its athough its revving itself up. If I was to turn the ignition off and then start the car back up it will idle fine until I physiaclly drive the car. My guesses are isv needs cleaning or some sort of vac leak well something along the lines of that. I was just wondering has anybody encountered this themselves and could maybe hit the nail on the head as to what it is. P.S the car drives fine under load if anything a bit jerky between on/off throttle transistions. Any help would be great as I look like an idiot at traffic lights because I have a bbm screw charger on lol  Thanks everyone.
  5. Ive ran a 15.1 and a 14.9 in my g60 at santa pod. Think there was room for improvement with a bit of practice. Even though santa pod is supposed to be grippy its still hard to put power down on normal road tyres i found. Nothing to do with a lead right foot of course lol.
  6. Apart from carbon wrap looking pants, it would be a nightmare to put on as the bonnet curves both ways, if you get what i mean lol. So it would be very very hard not to get creases in it.
  7. Theres a how to thread in the wiki mate, I found that quite helpful

    JMC's G60

Thanks mate, I really fancy a cnc big valve head but seems a bit pointless putting it on a bottom end thats done 120k so might as well go the whole hog. Keep us updated on how the beast goes.

    JMC's G60

Sounds like your cars going to be a flyer mate. When you enquired about your engine did he have different routes that you could take i.e. 1940, 1900, 2000cc. Id like some more info on this as I would like to go down this route myself shortly. Id ring him but i know hes busy and im still saving up the pennies
  10. Lol doesn't sound good. I spose when your pushing things like this then its always going to go at the weakest point. When I bought mine from gwerks, Darren said if I run the 18psi pulley it would be the equivalent of a 62mm glader pulley and should run forever if treat with a bit of respect. Now where did I put that 18psi pulley :norty:
  11. Lol every one looks like when your driving around, kids love it, old people hate it  G dub what size pulley did you run on yours and what injectors did you use. Ive got a sns chip to run standard injectors with an 18psi pulley and a 3.5 bar fpr but am abit dubious about running it that way, id rather go for some reds. Also what did your car go like? did you notice much difference in changing from the standard pulley to the smaller one?
  12. Lol , never ever thought i would here that mentioned outside of college.
  13. The cars already got a lysholm on i meant if this one went pop what would i replace it with... kinda like the idea of keeping it supercharged but wouldn't put a G back on.
  14. That sounds promising, ive been contemplating for a few months what to do with my car. I wanted to spend some money on the engine itself, e.g 1900 bottom end and a big valve cnc head. But the thing that holds me back is what if this charger goes bang, what do i replace it with lol. Any clues as to what it is you should be waiting for?
  15. Ive had good and bad experiences with them. My 1st one siezed up after 450 miles, i hadn't even finished running it in :( . Second time round tho and all is well after 2000 miles. Im comparing the lysholm with a standard pulley on to a stage 4 g60 with a 68mm pulley. The lysholm has better midrange but seems to die off abit sooner than the g60 did. I put this down to it not running as much boost as my g60 was. 13psi vs 15psi. But no doubt that will be a different story when i install my 53mm pulley. Just hope this one lasts for a few years lol. Ive heard a few people mention that the ones that are getting churned out now arent as reliable as the older type chargers.
  16. When you bought a new cable did you get the metal clip that holds the outer cable rigid to the inside of the car while you pull the inner one? (if that makes sense lol) As this has broke on mine and when i went to vw to buy one i was told they were discontinued, i didnt want to pay 25 quid for a new cable to find that the clip didnt come with it :confused4:
  17. I will il get sum pics up this weekend, I had rr'd back in 2005 and it made 207 bhp at well lane, as i understand it its also made that same power at stealth and amd ? I know ive got print outs for 2 different places showing 207bhp anyway lol. Its running the standaed pully on the screw charger at the mo and feels about the same maybe a little bit better through the mid range hard to tell though. Ive got an 18 psi pulley waiting to go on and also have some other engine plans for it. You have any photos of when you owned the car?
  18. Hi mate, I now own that car although its now on a private plate. Ive had it since april 2005, come close to selling it a few times but cant bring myself to do it lol. Ive changed a few bits on it might not be to every ones taste but it now has a bahn brenner screwcharger on it, ibiza brembos and the wheels have been powder coated in anthracite. Im trying to fit some leather porsche gt3 replica front seats in it at the moment. Its still a nice car and goes really well. Bodywork is starting to look a bit tired in places i.e stone chipped front end lol. But the plan is to have some fun during the summer and have it fully painted in the winter. Il try and get some pictures up of it this weekend.
  19. Yeah your right genuine ones will be so much better, ive enquired about them now so if i buy them il post up my opinion on them. The place im thinking of getting them from you can send them back within seven days if your not happy so its not all bad I spose.
  20. Cool, should look sweet. By the time i pull my finger out mate you probably will be the first person to do it.. Where you getting your seats from? Seen some for around £350 each and some for £700 each. Is it a matter of you get what you pay for or are some just way over priced as they are porsche reps
  21. Has anybody seen a set of porsche gt3 type seats fitted to a corrado before, i like the look of them but there seems to be lots of variations of the same seat. Anybody had any experiences with them. Heres an example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GT-Carbon-Fibre-S ... dZViewItem
  22. Anyone have any ideas what a rotrex would be like on a 20v engine, thinking about it as a future project for my c. I know storm developments did one but theres no info on their site.
  23. Now then i guys, Ive got a problem with a 97 mk3 golf gti 2.0 8v that keeps cutting out. I bought it about 2 months ago to run round in as the rados poorly. The problem is intermittient, you can just be driving along and it will cut out as though someones turned the car off. The ignition lights stay on though. It wont start by bumping it off while your rolling and you have to wait around 5-10mins before the car will start back up. It doesn't do it all the time, it may be o.k for a few days and it can also do it 5 times in one day. Ive had it checked for fault codes and it shows nothing up. Ive replaced the dizzy, crankshaft sensor and coil. Another thing to mention is when it stops the rev counter needle occassionally ficks round. I wish it would just break down completely so the fault could be traced lol. I know these things are sent to test us but itsdoing my nut in. Has anbody encountered this before? Thanks for your help.
  24. Lol, if i had the money then i would. I just dont have 3k at the mo. My only way is a bit at a time. I bet yours was a right monster with that engine and charger.
  25. Do you have any details on your G werks engine? Im hoping to go that way with mine. Think ive done mine the wrong way round tho as i bought a screw charger first.
