    Rear beam bushes

Thanks everyone. Think ill go with the vt ones as hopefully they should be fit and forget. I like the look of them polystyrene ones. Look like they'll be easy to fit and probs make it handle better than it does now, dont they also come in packs of 100
  2. Anbody tried the vibratechnics rear beam bushes on their corrado. like these: http://www.vibra-technics.co.uk/parts/p ... asp?id=338 I know people favour the oem ones but thats what my car has now and i dont like how they feel. My last corrado had polybushes fitted and it felt so much more planted. Just wondered if anbody used the ones above and how they got on with them?
  3. I really like them. Not just camaros most of them. I think my favs are the old chevy and ford pickups. B it like the one off forest gump :D

    DTA ecu's

Hi chazard. Thanks for your reply. I know you have to wire into your own loom but im sure i read somehwhere that you can buy a loom for your car i.e. the engine loom which would be ready with all plugs on etc to connect to engine sensors and then you could just splice that into your own car loom. My car is running mbe at the moment i was thinking for the ease of having any future upgrades mapped into it as there doent seem to be many places that cater for mbe. Then again might be worth taking it and having it mapped then learning how to make slight alterations myself :gag: .
  5. I spose depends what you want to use the car for. If its just for the road then how much power do you really need? but if for track etc then fair enough cant fault you 8) I wanted an evo, same story really running, insurance costs etc. But when all is said and done once i got an evo id then want to mod it in an equivalent way as the rado i.e more power, upgrade brakes etc so you just start again but with a car thats 5 times the price. Dont get me wrong i love skylines but if had one i reckon it would just be constantly broke parked on the drive. Another thing that made me go for another rado was that if and when i buy my own house i wouldnt have to get shot of it where as something like a evo skyline i would have to sell.
  6. skyline gtr's are nice motors but ive read some horror stories about the engines. Something to do with oil delivery to the sixth piston  . Looks like you have a lot of tasty parts there already for the corrado so youre a good way there to becoming a vrt owner. Why not build it up as a front wheel drive car and see how you get on with it and if thats what you want. Then at a later date go the four wheel drive route. There seems to be some fairly monstorous vrts on here that are front wheel drive and manage ok. I reckon this would cut out a good chunk of work and cost for your dream corrado.

    DTA ecu's

For people using DTA ecu's can you buy pre made looms for your car or do you have to make them up yourself. In my case it would be for a corrado with a 20v turbo engine. I have looked on the www But just gathering ideas and I know a few people have ran dta and the likes on here. cheers

    High temp lacquer

Yeah i reckon so but just didnt want the brembo stickers to look stuck on, bit anal i know but they are laquered over from factory albeit i dont think theyre powder coated

    High temp lacquer

cheers, i was more after a clearcoat to go over the top of powder coating
  11. Dont know if this is in the right section as its about brakes. You may have seen my other thread about my dilema over brakes, well i have decided to refurb my brembos. Im having them soda blasted at the moment and then i am going to have them powder coated. I would like to laquer over them once i have fitted new brembo stickers. Is there a laquer that would be suitable to laquer over the top of them? P.S just found some on the frost restoration website but its 50 quid :gag:
  12. Hi mate i run q peng on mine and im considering moving over to the standard management but i like the idea of dta. Im considering a turbo on mine in the future and think it would be easier to tune running dta or standard management as i dont know of many places that can map the qpeng ecu's depends what you goals and budget are as mentioned already
  13. Thanks guys great info. Not too concerned about the wheel balance side of things as i did this on my last corrado and just had them rebalanced in place so they didnt intrude with the callipers. I should really just man up and make a decision. The trouble is the cost of refurbing my brembos and getting new discs and pads etc is the same price as buying a brand new brake kit. Oh desicions lol
  14. My mates just come round and had a look. If I removed the weight on the wheel I would have around 3mm of clearance between the calliper and wheel. Would this be adequate?
  15. Just thought is update this. Tried my brembo setup on with a 10mm spacer and they go on but only just. The wheel reduces in diameter as it comes in towards the spokes so the gap is quite tight at the top of the calliper. To close for my liking you can't see the gap because of the wheel type but I can't get the tip of my finger in so looks like willlwoods are the WU to go.
  16. cant you find out what it is and get something similar from maplins? Surely its just a signal converter
  17. Yeah the 20 mm disc bit concerns me aswell, i could phone people who sell them but just get the feeling thed say anything so i buy them :ignore: Slim ive got an ibiza 305mm brembo setup but dont think they'll clear my wheels without going daf with the spacing. Gonna try and get some measurements as they do a 6 pot kit with 30mm discs also. that might be over the top though. Im just trying to suss out which way to go to budget for the bits i need such as brakes, bushes and new suspension :brickwall:
  18. Following on from my question about brakes, whats the maximum size spacers you guys would reccomend running. I reckon my brembos would go on with a 15 maybe a 20mm spacer. Im aware on the affects spacers have on the drivetrain but is 20mm too much? that would obviously be 40mm in total, so i would have to alter the rear also so it didnt look stupid. I reckon id probably be asking for trouble :?
  19. Yeah i spose i could maybe but my car is 4 stud which means theres no off the shelf solution. They do a 310mm kit also that may fit with the callipers being slimmer. il post up my findings, thanks
  20. Cheers james, its actually a 20vt corrado though so its not if it gets more power its when lol so thats why i was unsure of the 280mm disc theyre only 20mm wide aswell where as the brembos on my last rado were something like 28. I just dont wanna buy them and find theyre not up to the job.
  21. Cheers guys, i would deffinately go for the dust sealed ones i think. The car aint a daily driver either more of a hobby car. I think if theyre good enough for two VRT's then theyll deffinately stop my weedy four banger. I would like to think it will see 300 brake one day so do you think a 280mm disc would be sufficient?
  22. Hey, I have a set of four pot brembos that i was going to reufurb and fit to my 20v corrado. Im running some 16 inch lensos at the moment and needless to say the brembos wont fit. I knew they wouldnt but thought i could mess around with spacers etc and get them to fit. But now i have been looking at these: http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_in ... ts_id=4014 The only bad things i have heard about willwoods are they are not dust sealed, but they are now so thats not a concern and that they were better suited to lighter cars. I reckon that these would fit under my wheels. Has anbody had any experience with willwood brakes on theyre vw's? I know theyve been mentioned a few times on here but anbody know how good they are ?

    Lenso BBS Style

my bad, just quickly read it and not very well obviously.

    Lenso BBS Style

I run these on mine mate, theyre 7.5 inches wide and mine came fitted with 195/45/16 tyres. Think 215's are a bit over the top. Could be wrong mind
  25. One of my friends took this of mine earlier i like it :D
