Halfords used to suppy the tools for removing them so try there. I take it you've tried the "punch and trusty persuader" approach to getting them moving already?
-
I have one that was on the car for less than 6 months going spare. £75 to you...
-
If it works fine using the allen key and you've lubed the right bits of the mechanism to no effect, you need a new motor...
-
If it's that cheap, buy it and try it. Are you sure it's not 24 or 48 that's worn? Or is it 11 thats moving around a lot? If it's been used for a while (it has) particularly with worn engine/gearbox mounts it will probably all be a little worn...

The sensor is in the engine bay on the and clips into the brake servo. Part number is 357 927 810.
-
Easy to change and the price may have dropped from the £75 ex VAT that VW charged me 2 years ago.
-
You're missing one. Try doing this with the engine running - the revs should change when you pull the plug. If it doesn't...
-
Liek SUpercharged says - if it's using 0W-30, change to 15W-50 as the former is too thin and will just run out of the engine.

The brake caliper carriers tend to seize as they get older so this could be one cause. That it stops as the speed rises above 30mph might mean it's the ABS Electronic Differential Lock function playing silly buggers. If it's the former, now is the time to upgrade to 288mm brakes from a Mk3. If it's the latter, think in terms of a new ABS controller (come up on eBay for ~£50 from time to time) The way to find out if it's the ABS is to disconnect one of the wheel sensors (do it at the plug on top of each of the front suspension towers). Your ABS light will then stay on permanently, but if the problem stops you've found the cause.

The one on mine is a Volksport.
-
That would be what I have. I have new mounts all round though and the front one is a bit serious.
-
It had a new knock sensor 2 months ago and the loom seems okay. Optimax petrol being used. Anything in particular to check apart from the usual timingetc?i
-
Can I interest you in my H&R coilovers? :D
-
Jay, you do have an ISV re-route as well - plus there's that worrying thing you've done with the knock sensor...
-
The original VBW VR6 front mount was oil filled - so you may still need a new mount. If it's the original mount you need a new one anyway...
-
Hmmm. My stock G60 managed 174 (and Vince was checking the size of the pulley) last week, maybe yours was feeling a bit warm?
-
Probably just one and yes.
-
The lens and the trim that fits over it are the only differences.
-
The pads are twice the size.
-
Might be talking about different pillar trim here... The a-pillar (up the side of the windscreen and over the door) - as Henny says. The b-pillar (with the seatbelt mounting on it) - pull off the cover for the coat-hook at the top and unscrew the metal hanger, remove the seatbelt adjuster knob and the cover for the upper seatbelt mounting so that you can unbolt the heatbelt mounting, then pry off the plastic cap located in the pillar trim below the seatbelt mounting slot and remove the screw, pull the trim off the bodyshell.

Which way do you swing? G60 or VR6
Mike Edwards replied to C. Will Corrado G60 2's topic in Engine Bay
Nope. Pitch it in at speed to get the rear steering working then nail it. Your tyres don't last very long if you do this often, and it's important that everything is as it should be in the dampers/bushes etc... -
Bilstein make jacks for VWs...
-
Anyone got Audi TT competition alloys? I have a question...
Mike Edwards replied to greegs's topic in Exterior
Henny, dare I ask? What did you do to this Beetle you owned? -
Neocorrado, drive faster - the ride gets better above 70...
