  1. A perfect reason not to
  2. They would indeed mate, the sooner this wide wheel fad goes away the better then eh! good luck with it.
  3. I just feel that they were made by VW the way they are for a good reason. I'm never likely to do anything like this with either of my Corrado's but if i did i'd probably go down the bodywork routine instead but having said that that also gives me nightmares so i'll stick with the best way and thats the way VW intended  Please dont feel i'm getting at you or anyone else for that matter but if you are struggling to do it right because it costs more to do it right then why not wait till you can? am sure it'd look much better too in the long run
  4. wow really cant believe folk want to grind away metal in order to fit non standard wheels! no offence but this is modding far beyond reality. I love to see modded cars and some of the ideas thrown around but i'm not getting this one at all. :cuckoo: Feel free to shoot me Lol!
  5. Ah no problem Fay, see you soon  if its any consolation there is something wrong with all 3 at the moment :brickwall:  nothing major but just stuff that needs doing. Ah well some of them will have to wait a while and that includes the VR
  6. Yep a cover works wonders even a cheap one from Netto which is where ours are from  the Airflow conditioner is a must. http://www.airflow-uk.co.uk/Battery-Conditioner.html And a tray of kitty litter in the footwell works wonders but not done this myself yet but will do this year, i also put the car on some other wheels with cheap tyres on to save damaging the best ones  And occasionally every 8 weeks or so fire it up and move it a little to free things up. I really dont like leaving it for 6 months without any attention at all.

  9. Yeah i think phil is spot on matey, definately the hex shaped ones look better, may get some next week end!
  10. I'd say definately mate, better to get cracking with it as best you can then some form of rust eater like Jenolite :salute: then primer and even a couple of coats of body colour & laquer (even if its badly done) to keep it sealed is in my oppinion far better than having bare rusty metal exposed to the elements.
  11. Yep went good thanks but going to give buffing a miss this weekend to enjoy the show for a change
  12. Ha Ha whats with the hiding of the details then  See you Sunday Matey
  13. My view is always mechanics before cosmetics and the same applies to the cycle trade im in, some folk spend money on things that are nice to have like new bottle cages and handlebar tape etc when their transmission is utterly knackerd so much so that it could spit them onto the tarmac face dowm anytime  However i always feel that if there is corrosion present then it needs attention pronto as once it sets in your car is buggered too where as the engine and everything else is bolted on and can be replaced at a later date, no point spending loads on new bits if the cars rotting away by the day! But it's finding the fine line between the 2. I now have 3 corrado's and i'm finding it extremely difficult to find where the priority lies as there is something needing doing to all of them :pale:  Good luck
  14. Looking superb  looking forward to seeing it at the weekend 8)
  15. Is the steering rack a a replacement vw item or like a good quality aftermarket thing? looks smashing :norty: Hmmm been hearing a lot about these re-maps from the Crazy one as i know Fay has had hers done too. Might have to have a word :norty:
  16. That would be Kip Yeah but if you've seen his VR then he can do what the hell he wants with his others. :notworthy: Also you do realise Jake that cos its a Mod tribute mod, as Rockers we should beat him up every time we see him. Who's up for a Brighton meet? Thing is boys I listen to Rock music more than you do! Seen Maiden 8 times Def Lepard 12 times and bands like Saxon and the like well i've lost bloody count  Been to well over 220 real IE Famous band gigs and probably over 600 not so Famous band Gigs Plus my all time faves are indeed the who and seen them times now so thats Where the tribute comes from :salute:
  17. On the road down from Braemar, Kip? I take it that is a spot reading, not a mean over dozens of miles? You start at about 1000ft above sea level - we got 37+mpg from Braemar to home near Edinburgh, which includes a good bit of M90. Hi there, it was on the run from Oban to inverness and we hit that MPG just as we got to Loch Ness before meeting up with Yan which resulted in a spirited drive to our hotel and knocked it down to 42 MPG. It was during a 100 mile trip
  18. Had 48.7 from the 8v on our recent scotland road trip
  19.  dont think i've ever seen one like that! could be a world first
  20. Lol! Not quite Baz  removed to paint the sills on the VR properly as i'm guessing this is what Andrew is up to too
  21. Its a protective housing for the front ABS Cable to hold it in place when you turn the steering wheel. comes in 3 parts, the bit that clips onto the hub carrier is two pieces, and the 3rd piece is the top U shaped cradle for the cable. Available at the main dealers but not that expensive
  22. Tatton is next weekend 8th August. So looking forward to seeing this :luvlove:
  23. All ours work perfectly 5 that is, touches wood
