  1. If you loosen the plug from underneath, you'll be able to reach down from above and undo it the rest of the way. Bit fiddly but possible and saves getting coolant all down your arm.
  2. Would it be possible to get some plinths made up. They're only plastic and im sure a company who deals in plastic and plastic forming could make a batch of these up?
  3. WOW thats a huge difference!!! I avoid places like Kwik fit with a passion.
  4. Mine almost failed for this, handbrake efficiency. Going to replace the calipers on mine i think. Prob go for the the MK4 ones too and take the hit with the flexi pipes.
  5. You need mk4 flexi pipes too.
  6. Was there a 14 year old on here who owned a Corrado, though obviously not yet able to drive it?
  7. oh you'll need the trim for outer corners ( like this http://www.wickes.co.uk/tile-trim/invt/206939/?source=123_74). When making up the grout dont make it too thin/watery as its more likely to go brittle after a while - from experience.
  8. Not oil dripping onto the manifold or something, Smoke suggests fire and i think you'd know if the vapours were alight.
  9. Cheers Dave :) will keep an eye for you on UKP
  10. took this on myself for the first time last year, did the kitchen and i have to say i did a good job considering. Worst part is working out where to start, making sure you have whole tiles and how the corners and fiddly bits work out. But once youve done that its plane sailing. As David said a water cooled electic circular cutter is best for straight lines and to an extent cutting small elaborate bits out, but a hand cutter would be useful too. Also make allowances for breakages, mistakes etc. so plenty of spare tiles is essential. When grouting, just lather it on to get in the gaps. the scrape the excess off. Then get a damp sponge and just wipe over all the tiles diagonally to the gaps. This will take excess grout out but leave enough in. Trust me its easier than you think, i thought it was daunting, but as i said above once youve worked it out (and do take your time to do this, or you'll be pulling tiles off the wall to redo), its easy from there and you'll get them up in no time. Enjoy! :) Im going to be doing the bathroom soon and i cant wait - how sad, but i really enjoy tiling.
  11. RHS as in drivers? hmmm cant see the vapour smoking though.
  12. Got to say, i quite like this one http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz272/crisvr6/corrado_5_1_lowres.jpg?t=1270998127 Has a degree of Esprit about it
  13. Same here to be honest, dont think it helps with the old seals, particularly the sunroof. Allows damp in and give a musky smell.
  14. Sounds odd. But cut an onion in half and put it in the cabin - onions absorb smells. Ok it'll smell of onion, but that will disappear.
  15. it looks ridiculous! I wonder how much those wheels weigh and how much they cost. Must handle like a byaaatch. AND where do you get tyres to fit them. Also, how to ruin a RR Phantom, never mind it being kind of sacrilege Saying that, the comments suggests its a Chrysler 300, with that reg plate it makes sense
  16. didnt realise you were on ukpassats forum Dave, whats your user name??? The car is fine, all working fine now ;-) bit of a foolish error, but glad a) i didnt wreck the engine/fuel system and b) didnt have to fork out £150-£200 to get the tank syphoned. Thanks for asking. :)
  17. Inregards to the carbon canistor and the fuel tank vent. People do remove the canister, leave on pipe venting to atmosphere and the other should be blocked up. If you look under the airbox the canister sits under it. If its been removed there will just be a hole where it used to sit. You dont NEED this part, as the carbon in it is probably well spent by now. The problem i found when i removed mine (now reconnected) is i could smell the petrol fumes in the cabin. Even though i put the cable in down the hole the canister sat, so it vented behind the bumper and the fumes would go under the car.
  18. Could you get some fishing wire behind it?
  19. funny you should say that mr owl as i work in harrogate and live in leeds and ive had this evil flu for about 3 days now, feeling alot better today though. However the gf is now coming down with it. oh and getting flu from having a flu jab is a fallacy.
  20. Suffering with this super virus myself at the mo.. Get some olbas oil and put it in a bowl of boiling water. Then put a towel over your head and breath in the steam for 5-10 mins, or as long as you can bare it. Works a treat. Oh and brandy helps too ;-)
  21. Well the plot thickens RW1. Contacted the place these guys were apparently from and the guy on the other end of the phone said its nothing to do with them and he was aware of people going round collecting cars for scrap and saying they were from his scrap dealers. So, contacted DVLA and explained the situation and they said simply right a letter explaining the situation and they will take me off as the current keeper. Didnt realise it was going to be so simple. Going to go to the police station tonight just to inform them as to whats gone on and get any advice - this is to mainly cover myself.
  22. I suppose with an alarm, we all know they get ignored generally and doesnt stop the car being taken.
  23. These have been on here before and everyone hated them... i liked them.
  24. As Jon says but worth checking with the insurer you're either with or plan to be with. Though dont see the issue with a CAT 1 if its fitted by a professional.
