Cheers Dragon. Im putting money on it being due to the slope of the drive. I've siliconed up those holes at the front and appear to have stopped leaking at the front - not sure if the holes are meant to be there or what though :-/ May have to test it on a flat surface. Bit odd if it is the slope. ---------- Post added at 12:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:57 AM ---------- It did actually. But i assumed it was through those holes i mentioned. I think ive got a new seal coming in Jan. Assuming the supplier's computer is correct.

ah cheers Dragon, i googled it but didnt find much and as you say not with my symptoms. Im starting to think its due to the incline the car is sat on. It is a relatively steep drive.

Can anyone tell me if parking on a hill could cause an issue. The large amount of water pouring into the drain channels and with the channels being on a slant due to the hill, the water just pours over the edges?

Enough to do  Sunroof leaking - repair drop links and ARB bushes to do. NEw discs and pads all round Get clocks fixed as they intermittently work for some reason - circuit boad issue apparently. get inlet manifold off to get to one of the throttle body bolts that has rounded off :( Get a decent black interior to swap with mine. Never liked mine.

Anyone else any idea?

Jim that had crossed my mind, but dont live under a flight path, though i suppose fluid from a plane could travel miles laterally if its thousands of feet in the air and it really doonnees look like fluid dropped on the bonnet. Hasnt been under a cover - not yet anyway. Carrots - its factory laquer as far as i know. Though i admit the stone chips causing laquer peel is bad.. but this problem is happening in places where theres no stone chip. Though i suppose it could allow water under the laquer. Saying that its only happened on one half of the bonnet. I've got an electric polisher, but i dont think it'll help as the problem is under the laquer. I'll try flattening it back and relaquering. Looks awful.

Can anyone give me an idea as to whats happened? Saying that a trip to a body shop maybe a good idea and show them the pics.

Right taken another look and pushed the sunroof trim back into the roof. There is a gap between the roof and the sunroof seal. But the seal does butt up to the roof completely at one end. Its a small gap, but im guessing its not supposed to be there. I can also push the sunroof back a smidge which does close the gap but its still there a little. Im guessing the sunroof shouldnt be able to move like this. Also is there supposed to be some slight movement when pressing down on the sunroof, which does stop the water from getting in. Is this movement supposed to be there? Ive also sealed the holes at the front i was talking about. I may try a new seal and see if that helps.

Cheers Dragon, but at the wrong angle im afraid. Need to see under the wind deflector. If you take a look at my pic for reference. Need to see in the channel the metal rod for the wind deflector sits.

Hi all, Need some help. My sunroof is leaking, its not the drains. they are fine. But somehow water is getting into the cabin. I've taken the roof lining off and poured water over the roof and i can see water getting in via a hole on either front corner. It looks like the holes are from factory. But when water gets into the channel - the channel the levers sit in that allows the wind deflector to go up and down as the sunroof is open/closed. Water will drain towards the front and go down the whole and onto the roof lining. Ive posted some picks circling the hole from below and above. However water is getting in at the rear of the sunroof too. But i cant see where its coming in at the rear of the sunroof. There's a seal that goes around the opening of the sunroof, can be seen when the sunroof is retracted into the roof. Could it be this letting water in? (see first pic) I cant see anything else it could be, im at a loss. The front and rear drains are not blocked and are connected. hole from above - hole from below - Water getting in at the rear - Water getting in at the front - Any help appreciated. Cheers

I dont know, possibly. Cant say i saw any at the back. Prob have to take another look. The thing is they look like theyre there from factory, so they must be needed AND also it never used to leak and the whole will have been there before. im tempted to silicone them up, but like i say im sure if you checked your sunroof the holes would be there also. Could it be the white seal that goes around the opening of the sunroof (see pics)? -
Right, its one thing after another  Car has been sat unused on the drive since October and today i noticed something strange. The paint on the bonnet has gone all weird, its under the laquer by the looks of it. Almost looks like a water mark. What the heck has happened to my paint?!? Ignore the white spots, thats where laquer has blistered from stone chips. Im tempted to spray the bonnet blackm with a rattle can until i can get the front end resprayed. Thoughts on whats happened to that paint

I dont think its the rear drains as you say they're further back. Those holes look like they're meant to be there, there's a hole on either side and they're such a shape where they're above manufactured. However, i dont understand why they're there as they let water in!? I dont know what to do next now..... -

Right ive taken a look - managed to pull the headlining back to give me a view of what was going on. The sunroof is like a sieve. However im not 100% sure where the water is coming from, other than 2 holes at the front that the water is dripping out of, allowing water onto the sunroof panel. But the rear of the sunroof panel is soaked too. Here are some pics - On the front corners there is a small hole on either corner, which allows water to drip through... what are these holes??? From below - From above - Some pics of the sunroof panel - its soaked on the inside (sorry for the poor pics) Front edge - rear edge - -

Cheers Dragon i'll give it a go. The roof lining is a bit dirty anyway and i think i may get some aerosol and spray it black. -

Ok i guess thats the next step then. Roof liner out (eeeek). Can it be removed doing it solo? I gather once i remove the sun visors, grab handles, coat hooks etc, it'll just slide out backwards will it. Do any other bits of trim need to come off? -

This is it though. Its on a slop at the moment, facing down hill so all the water should be going down the front drains. It looks like water is getting in at the leading edge of the sunroof goin by the water thats on the inside trim panel and just above the sunvisors. Also right at the rear of the inside trim panel and seats. -
When you fitted the loom, have you disconnected the yellow plug behind the passenger light, on the inside of the wing?

Well checked the sunroof last night, the drain holes at least the fronts are clear and i confirmed it by pouring water down them - which came out of the other end. Was unable to check the rears as the car was on a slope and i couldnt see them. I can only think its the seal as its a bit dried out and prob could do with replacing.. though doesnt look easy to replace. Can it only be the seal or the drain holes? -
Yeah hard to say with out seeing it, but would have thought 4 coats would be enough.
-
Hell Yeah. I couldnt agree more. Went in a few years ago to get 2 new front tyres fitted. They took the car into the garage and you can see them working on the car. THey only went and used the pneumatic wheel gun to get hte locking wheel nut off and broke the Mcguard key. I stupidly went and got the other key - just for them to do it to that. So i had it out with them and they were adament they didnt, despite me saying id seen them do it. Im the fool for giving them another chance. Never again

Yeah make sure you put enough laquer on it, it'll give it some depth. YOu'll then have to give it a damn good polish
