Calling planet Zog -is there room for Gordon Brown

I dont see why you should be punished for owning a more powerful car, as said above they already get taxed more for the pleasure. Personally i dont think this taxing is going to persuade people change their minds. -
Calling planet Zog -is there room for Gordon Brown

Im with you on that one bro, makes me angry that he's taking so much from us and when we're not earning anything extra to support the inflating costs either. I cant see how he things higher fuel taxes and road taxes will help stop people from driving hybrid or electric cars. Lets face it, as soon as petrol driven cars are off the road he'll only tax motorists using hybrid or electric with a similar amount anyway -
i got mine from septic tank amazon http://www.amazon.com/Volkswagen-Corrado-Official-Factory-Repair/dp/B000N6ZVW8/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1215691889&sr=8-7 but it seems they dont have any atm there is one on the uk site butits a fortune... £85!!! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Volkswagen-Corrado-Official-Factory-1990-94/dp/0837603870/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1215691971&sr=8-1 o and VW labour is £95 p/h!!! :censored: i took mine to a backstreet vw specialists and foudn they didnt tighten the nuts on my rear suspension top mounts when they removed and refitted a while ago... never again! £40 p/h but unsafe work!! (use a more reputable vw specailists now that specialise in making vag cars faster and look better!)[/quote:3b9gxmgp] That's it. You pay more, so you would think you'd get more. In fact you pay more and get alot less  more expensive hourly labour rate, worse customer service and follow up cust service. Lack of knowledge with the corrado. I'd never go to a dealer unless there was no other option.

I appreciate this does happen but I do trust the garage I take it to, I wouldn't take it there if I didn't. They have been great in the past and they gave me the option of whether I wanted the work done or not. I would rather they do it the the main stealer or a 2-bit garage that is used to working on Kev'd up Corsa's and Fiesta's. How about a private VW specialist garage? Dont get me wrong im not saying all dealers are like that. But thats what i have experienced before in the past. PLus the labour rate is appauling, how much is the going rate these days £60p/h?

To be honset, its a typical dealer reaction. You take your car in for one job and you get told how much itll be. They then assess other areas of the car, most not related to the reason youre in there in the first place, and come up with a list of extra jobs they have 'noticed'. Went in for a pedal box fitting to my gfs lupo, they rang saying the rear window washer wasnt working, which we knew but didnt want fixing at that time, it wasnt in for the rear washer jet. It apparently needed new brake pads and discs, although id replaced them 3 months earlier. They also said it needed a neew bumpstop, again it didnt. Personally i would get done what you went in the garage for in the first place, and if the list of other job bothers you, id go somewhere else for an opinion My 2p.

BOO! Dropped another 2 places down to 12th, man im bad at this

Voted. Dont get me started on the Corsa.

Any idea how much the sponsors paid for one F1 race? staff costs, catering etc
-
As you said itll take millions to develop. I think they should just pump the much need cash into Silverstone personally. Such a shame we've lost a great race out of the racing calander.

:notworthy: I think I owe you a pint or two. It's not even a serious problem: The left front wheel sensor is dud on mine.
-
^^ what mariojoshi said. Also an air filter, maybe even a fuel filter imo.
-
Just given this a go and it worked for me also :thumbleft: So for those of you with the same issue with the ABS and VAG COM, try the above. The lead has to be plugged into the USB port that you normally use, otherwise the port icon wont be on your device manager. :thumbleft: Thanks :D

It was actually the plate that the small spring sits on that i was referring to. But im guess going by your answer that its just for the small spring to sit on. Cheers for that Aqua. I didnt know about the reverse thread. Cheers!
-
I'll give that a go, because i always get the 'too many communication errors' error when even i try to connect to the ABS. I can only seem to get VAG COM working on COM3
-
Cheers fellas! Chazrad - thanks for the guide. Ill probably get the 20metres as i'd rather have too much then not enough tbh. mariojoshi- Ill definately get the wirelock as i've also heard the steel ties are shoite.

Hi Josh. Where's the best/cheapest place to get some heat wrap? Yes i've read somewhere on here you are to wet the material before wrapping. Its good to hear the raceland are a good kit for the money. Last thing i want is the welds falling apart. I'm kind of glad some of you had the same raspy noise as i have at the mo. I was afraid the manifold was blowing around the gasket or somewhere. Cheers Gaz

Cheers Furkz! What's the highest adjustable plate for? Another stupid question, do i still need to use the rubber top mounts and top plates?
-
Hi all, I've just purchased a set of coilovers - V-maxx ones. I know they're probably not the best ones out there, course not. But i'll give them a whirl until i can afford £700 for a set of weitecs. My possibly silly question is, how do you adjust them? You've got the top mount then a very short spring which is sitting on a adjust able plate. Then theres a bigger spring with 2 plates one sat below the other. I'm gathering i adjust the bottom plate getting at the height i want, then adjust the one sat on top of it down to the lower one - wrong/right? Whats he top plate for though?

Mine's never done this, so there's definitely something wrong .. Get it on VAGCOM. Should have a second positive peak in torque at about 5400 rpm, then gently tail off as it goes to the red line. But it WILL pull right through to the redline, no problem.[/quote:3yq5molx] Ill correct what i said above, its actually 4500rpm + where there seems to be power loss. Yes i was thinking its fuel related. I've had it on VAGCOM recently and it hasnt shown any issues. IF it is a fuel problem where would the first place to look be - fuel pump, injectors?
-
Hi all, Could someone tell me if the following is right for a VR or if there could be an indication of a fault somewhere. Basically, when i floor the throttle in say 2nd gear, if i wait until the revs get to 5000rpm+ the power drops off and i have to change gear. Then if i do the same again in 3rd it'll do the same. This happens in any gear. Is this a characteristic of the VR lump or could there be something wrong? Could the engine not be drawing enough fuel to sustain the power at high revs. I've read through what few threads there are on this and the Cam position sensor was highlighted, something to do with the ECU going into open loop or something :? Any help appreciated. Gaz

 that is in the pipe line ;) Well its going to get wrapped soon as the VHT paint is flaking - rubbish, dont use it. So maybe that'll help dull the sound a bit.

My sister made me a "CakeRado" for my Bday!

Some might argue thats you being 'wiser' ;) -
ah... i havent done that much mileage since having it fitted - maybe done 500-1000 miles, but i did check for any signs of blowing over the weekend and couldnt see any. the noise appears to be coming from where the manifold joins onto the block rather then it being the join onto the cat or further back. . I'll continue to wait another 2k or so. Its a really annoying noise. Cheers mate!

Mark, how long did you have to wait before the 'sucking air' sound from your 6 branch disappeared? Mines been on the car for what a couple of months and its still there.
