  1. lol - the one with the guy demo'ing the head unit with the pop out video screen and the customer is like "Oh, cool!" as if he didn't know it did that - like the just went in to Halfords and asked them to stick in ANY head unit and held out a handful of money or something?! Surely he knew what he was getting before they installed the fecking thing in his car!! glad i wasnt the only person to think that ha! What about the one where he's demo'ing the sat nav and he says, 'just do it like i showed you', the driver then presses the sat nav screen once and the halfords bloke says something like 'hey, there you go'. ALL YOU DID IS PRESS ONE BUTTON! maybe a little too observant from me.
  2. When i had this problem, again the car would turn over but not fire, RAC said it was the crank sensor. Replaced that and still no joy, ended up replacing ignition switch after advise on here and it started first time.
  3. Spayfix in Leeds. Top bloke and good work.
  4. Thanks, should be a nice cheap fix. Thanks all!
  5. ah ha, nice one. Ill check it out. Really not looking forward to this HA! Thanks again, Gaz
  6. Cheers guys, that will helpful. Not looking foward to getting some of those bolts off, had nothing but issues with bolts being seized on, recently. Supercharged, you say it is on etka? Its not on the one i've got. It shows everything other then the splash guard :confused4: do you have a part number for it mate? thanks
  7. What do you mean you tightened the bearings up - did you tighten the bolt on the spindle? Thats not suppose to be tight only a very slight nip up not really tight on!
  8. Hi all, MORE TROUBLE with the rado. Heard a knocking noise coming from the rear n/s wheel. Suspected caliper/disc issue as id just changed the discs and pads. Got home and got the wheel off, saw that one of the carrier bolts had come completely out and was missing  The other was still in there. Quick call to the garage and he said he had a spare one, so jumped in the car to go get the bolt fitted. On the way... BANG BANG BANG! the other bolt had come out completely and the rotation of the wheel had dragged the caliper round the disc to the 10 o'clock position  torn all the splash guard and some of that was missing, damaged a pad and also the rubber pipe. I dont know why this happened, i can only think i didnt tighten the bolts full could have been a foolish and dangerous mistake, yes. But it could have been worse. So, i know the bolts are available as id just bought some :mad2: and a new brake pipe and pads, thankfully the disc is ok. But what about this splash guard, its not shown on etka, is it still available, part number? Also how is this bolted on to the hub? What im more angry about is, if i hadnt tried to go fix the problem it wouldnt have got worse. So im kind of angry with myself for being such an idiot. Any help appreciated. Cheers Gaz
  9. Is that when the engine is cold or hot? White smoke from cold is normal, it should disappear once engine is warm.
  10. I bet its not just the Civic that the new rocco looks like. Im sure there are other cars that the new rocco looks vaguely familiar to. Like alot of modern cars.
  11. Yes itll will have to do with the circlips. Though even when set of the same level either side, i still noticed the rear was lower to the n/s then the o/s
  12. Though i have fallen in love with the RH ZW1-cups 8) Sexy wheels!
  13. mine is 93 but with coilpack. Sorry thats not helping much  cant the 2.9 be rebored?
  14. Dont all VRs have that, what ever it is? Sure mine does. Hmmm do you have a metal rocker cover? and a straight pipe for a breather, rather than that pcv valve thing? I wonder if the early cars have them then? In which case, I'm massively wrong  Yup straight pipe with a plug in the middle, no PCV
  15. Dont all VRs have that, what ever it is? Sure mine does.
  16. josh you have the most economical vr ever!! lol, i've never sween figures that high, does your average mfa readign match with the real figure worked out from a bit of maths when you fill up? Not really, seen as i get very similar figures ;) Isnt the MAF accurate to within 2%?
  17. yeah they dont quite look like Speedlines - maybe the dark colour :confused4: I think its the edge of each spokes dont look right. Bored of the RCs and that style of wheel tbh, would like something less popular or something totally different.
  18. Cant believe how much that supersprint mani is, its as much if not more then a full Supersprint exhaust. You can get cheaper ones for £200 but as Cheesewire says they dont add or take anything away. Well saying that, i found it helped the throttle response a little.
  19. be careful, they might come back later for them! Ive heard of ppl looking for stuff on cars and few days later trying to knick stuff! Yeah exactly. Stolen to order as such, get some locking nuts if you havent already ;)
  20. To be honest, i dont get bad MPG from the VR, ranges from 24-28 round town. I can give it some right foot and it wont drop below 24mpg. On a careful drive i can get 30-32mpg. I think its a bit of a misconcemption sometimes, that larger engines use more fuel, suppose it all depends on how each is driven. I just feel a VR can be as good if not better with mpg then a smaller engine simply that a VR can be driven reasonably with out straining the engine, where as a smaller engine would require more revs. Whats the official MPG figures for a 2ltr and 1.8ltr Valver?
  21. lol cough.. ignition switch... cough, is a prime example of that. I replaced that switch twice in the space of a year, finally and for the third time ive replaced it, but with a VAG one.
  22. maybe you just forgot, even if its a one off. You're only human. See if it it comes loose again, keep checking the bolts.
  23. Ditto, definately the best OEM rims, easy to maintain too. Though as VR6 said, Speedlines in 16s would be nice 8)
  24. a possible suggsetion to the brake problem could be your master cylinder.
