Aye, if you're getting coilies soon i wouldnt be too bothered
-
Are you using standard shockers. I WAS goign to do this as a cheap lowering alternative. But was advised to get shorter shockers too as the standard shocks with lowered springs will bottom out all the time - thus making them scrap in no time at all. I'd wait until you get your coilies. As for the bump stop, i think the general rule is to cut them down as much as youre lowering the car. HTHs

Could this eventually lead to the ABS light constantly being on? NOticed my ABS was a little eagar to kick in, esp on wet days. Then a month or so ago the light just came on for no apparent reason i.e. i hadnt been messing with anything that may have got disturbed.

The definitive "what exhaust?" discussion thread!
Critical_Mass replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
You like sucking off your exhaust?... and you go through lots of rubbers? :camp: And went through rubbers like crazy too ;) I think he meant aurally The supersprint that i had fitted to a G60 fit like a standard system, the fitter said it was really easy to fit. I wouldnt say it was that heavy, well im sure it compared to a SS system. But hten ive only had a standard exhaust or a supersprint and the supersprint is lighter then the standard one. I highly recommend the Supersprint systems. -
Ditto! But the best reason NOT to buy one. Not that id ever try talk anyone out of buying one.

yeah bought one off him too. However, last eve i went outside to find the headlights on. The relays look to have got a bit of water in them and now i either have sidelights using switch but no headlights Or no switch and headlights on. A bit of a mess with the relays does make them go out. Anyone know where i can get replacement relays from? You should be able to get them from pretty much any vehicle electrical supplier or car accessory place, just take one of the old ones with you, make sure the numbers by the terminals match and they have the same rating - probably 30A. I'm going to case mine in a plastic box, but as a quick and easy solution, just poly bag the relays to make them less prone to getting soaked.[/quote:21xtbjlz] Cheers dude! I did wrap them in electrical tape but obviously only worked for so long.

The guage is difficult to read exactly how much you have left in your tank, i previously worked at a car r&d place and all of the new cars have a fuel light which indicates a certain amount left in the take, i.e. 1 gallon, but most of the mid-high spec new cars now have a read out telling you how many miles you have left witht the fuel in your tank, a good idea IMO. I've never worked with electronics so i dont know how complicated it would be to fit something like that (positioning of a different read out and aesthetics aside) :?[/quote:qjep4sbn] Ah so the light ignores the needle then?

There's waaay more Vauxhalls and Fords if you look. Tons of chavaliers, festers, disastras and er, escorts. There is also very old gold pug? that looks a bit like a rado. now kick yourself up the arse and never think that again "an old pug that looks a bit like a rado" shame on you :nono:  Only noticed the mk1 none of the others. To be honest i have to agree with too hot the stunt driver part was a bit lame. The rest of the episode was great though. -

7 YEARS! -
Whats the 'low fuel' light goign to tell you that your needle isnt already telling you? If you dont notice the needle on the red then you arent look at the gauge, therefore you wouldnt see the light anyway.

Absolutely brilliant! Simple as that :D i laughed that much it hurt. Loved the siren on James May's car - the sped up ice cream van tune. Looking forward to the next one. I hope the standard is maintained. -
Cheers! Will have a look tonight :). It's a J indeed, but has an early interior & bonnet, 2.0L PAS setup, etc. (Last of the old valvers) I'm assuming that powerflow systems go straight on to the factory exhaust mani? Yeah i had a J reg G60, early interior and bonnet and it had a cat. Its more down to the date of manufacture as opposed to early/late spec. There's a bit of confusion as to what date was the cut off for cars requiring a CAT. I believe its 1992> AFAIK your being a J doesnt NEED a CAT to pass the MOT, but it does have one. Someone may correct, not sure if all valvers had NO CAT or whether it was just the late ones that had a CAT fitted. Yeah it will. If you DO have a CAT and you're just replacing the centre pipe, centre box and back box but leaving the CAT in you wont touch the mani OR if you replace the aforementioned and also the CAT with a by-pass pipe then again there wont be a problem fitting it to a standard mani, or aftermarket for that matter
-
Not much but here goes - The aftermarket mani should fit fine to a powerflow exhaust, Cant see why it wouldnt. With your rado being a J reg i would imagine it will have a cat. If in doubt have a look underneath the car - big bulge between the front of the car and the centrebox. Sorry i couldnt help more.
