I got its trade price, its was around £28. The label on the front says 'VW 502.00/505.00 (1/97)'. Is that what you were asking for?

Sorry being an idiot its a valver not a VR. :cuckoo: Apologies.

Wanting to give this a go too. You can do it yourself if you can hold a spanner. All engine plastics, pipes off, leads and plugs. Take throttle body off and ISV - May have missed something off that list. Shouldnt take more than an hour.

I dont think it is no, a hydrocracked mineral oil. Cheers Guy The real question is, IS it a good oil? I was recommended it by my mechanic after having a new lump fitted and i wanted the best for it.

Should have a dizzy on a 92 K like mine, not a coilpack. But yeah sounds like a bit of a missfire. I'd check or replace plugs/leads/dizzy cap/rotor arm first as critical said. The problem with these kind of intermittent missfires is they are evry difficult to trace, you replace something and think its fixed and then it comes back 2 days later. Usually intermittent misses are electrical though so check/replace the above. Those parts are cheap for quality parts from vagspares.co.uk - stay away from cheapo GSF leads tho. Cheers was8v, yeah sorry mines a 93 K and is a coilpack, I incorrectly assumed. :D

Could be a dodgy coil pack/ht lead/plug?

Is that to compensate the lowering? how do you adjust the brake bias, how do you adjust it and how much? Thanks[/quote:rrgat4cz] yes as the brake bias just thinks you have been to tesco to stock up on booze and the boot is full, has more weight on the rear end and more braking on the rear end, fine with weight but a lowered raddo with no weight is wavey under heavy braking. There is a 13mm m8 bolt nut attached to the compensator spring, this bolt sits in a slot that can be adjusted.......and I cant remember which way as i adjusted my brakes on the MOT brake rollers at work, just have a play and find out. edit...i take no responsibility for your braking antics on the public road.[/quote:rrgat4cz] Where's the compensator spring?

Aye got darker rear lights on my bordeaux, ill post a pic up later today. Liking the alloys, speedlines that are different 8)

Where's the bias valve and how much do you need to adjust with a 40mm drop? I need to get mine adjsuted.

My words exactly! Hit the nail on the head. Though, is it the pikeys complaining?
-
Cant see it being a problem tbh. Its on the end of the thread and will be bolted lower then that once fitted.

Cheers for the help Mike. Ill check it out. Monkey - WHen i took my stock shockers off i found that 1 of 4 would not return to the top by itself. However the other 3 did. (??) So i guessed that 1 was dead and the other 3 were fine. But Mike is saying that youre sound fine? Confusing :gag:

By louder do you mean droaning like sound, or clicking? Does it happen only at full lock or normal driving, what speeds - slow, general driving? -
No dont think it matters Dave. When i had my 6 branch fitted, the mechanic said there was a few bits he couldnt fit back on, one of which was that pipe youre referring to. He then said it was only to test the Lambda sensor.

I had this problem after i had take the calipers off and then back on. I bled all the calipers in the correct order. I bled the master cylinder (the nipple is under the brake fluid reservois, just in case you didnt realise). Theres also a nipple on the top of the gear box, assuming its for that, can anyone clarify that? No fluid came out of that anyway before i realised it could be for the gear box :? Since then, the brakes have never felt quite right. They're still a tad soft. :(

First of all id be tempted to bleed all the brakes, if what Dr_mat said is the case - that the fluid could cut your hand off. That fluid needs to go anyway. MAy as well do it in a more clean way.

heh, theres a problem with doing that, only found out yesterday he's off to the le mans 24hr and will be away for 2 weeks. Apologies. Though he's still worth a try when he gets back. He charges about £26 per hour. -

The definitive "what exhaust?" discussion thread!

Just had my supersprint fitted. I bought the large oval back box, i had the same design on my G60 and it fit a treat. But the one for the back box on the VR seems to sit very close to the top of the recess for the exhaust pipe on the back bumper - I dont want it to rub. Its had a new bracket on the back at least. Has anyone got a pic of a Oval back box fitted to a VR, preferably a Supersprint system, but would like to see others too. Its just to see if anyone else's sits so close to the bumper like the box is slanted up towards the back.
