yeah i get that same noise now ive had the 6 branch fitted. Apparently the noise will go once the carbon deposit builds up a bit? thats what i thought but it was still there 6 months later and i hated the noise , is the 6 branch wrapped that might help. No its not wrapped with material, but i think i will do it. I know someone who has fitted one of the same manifolds and i didnt hear a noise with his and his wasnt wrapped.

Advice on what to do with a screwed (low miles) VR6 engine..
Critical_Mass replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
i too can vouch for the VEGE engines and its an option definately worth considering. Picked one up in Jan cost £1998 just for the engine (exchange basis). Havent had a problem yet 6 months on. No ancillaries come with the engine, but that wont be a problem as you already have them with the old engine, fit a new water pump. Just note that they may not have many VR engine in. They had 2 when i had ordered mine and one was sold, i dont know if you can be put on a waiting list or not. You may even get my old block if it hasnt already gone. :D -
Ah ha, did anyone else read on the BBC website or see it on the national news that scientists have found a way to transmitt electricity via the air (Wi-tricity) albeit its only a miniscule amount of power being transmitted and over a very short distance. But it proves its possible and could be something used in the future. http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2007/wireless-0607.html

New Scirocco pics (in the flesh ooo-err)
Critical_Mass replied to cymru-corrado's topic in General Car Chat
The white one looks alot better then the black one. I like the black one but it looks a bit too toned down for me. As Yanards said, it looks like every other sports coupe/hatch on the road. -
Hi g60pops, just had a centre pipe fitted to my VR. The mechanic said he had to cut the centrepipe to size. So im guessing its one size that is stocked.

Agreed. All this cars causing global warming is b0ll0x imo. They're using it as a excuse to tax tax tax. Unless areas such as industry are also tackled these hydrogen cars arent going to have much of an impact.

Also be warned, pedestrians just cross, mostly without looking (if you havent already encountered that). Death wish or what?!

Sorry a diode not a relay. yeah its simply just a diode with a wire coming off either end then join that the existing wires. Or as Paul said. -

 seen that corsa before and i've just recovered from having burnt eyes from last time... so thanks Corradude! And join the club loopylindsay. Looks to have been alot of work put into the beamer. The bottom pic on http://www.xquisiteautomotive.co.uk/gal ... ompact.htm makes the car look caricature. The beamer isnt lowered, its just all the weight from the PS3 and wood housing. I wouldnt want speakers next to me in the doors, too close, too in your face (ears). All the money and not a penny spent on the engine. -
They do look good. I think it would have to be the TH's simply due to everyone having LMs or like.

Surely it's because when main beam is on, the 2 dipped beam lights go out and the main beam ones turn on. When the main beam is switched off the main go out and the dipped come on. You need all 4 lights on when main beam is used. If you hold the main beam half way (like you were flashing someone) you will see it is better. All is needed is a wire and relay between the main and dipped wiring afaik. A local auto electrician was going to make some up for me but i sold the lights before he had chance. -
Lovely looking C. I like the 3rd pic down (side on view).

Same here and i cant wait until i get home to see it. -
I've never had a pre 2000 VW that's sat dead on 90deg tbh, only the more modern cars seem to manage that, every rado/polo/golf etc i've had has sat between 90 and 110 depending on how it's being driven and ambient temps etc. If it's getting to 100deg and the fans cutting in to bring it back down, in traffic at this time of year, I wouldn't see that as a problem? Temp on my Vr will either be dead centre, OR below 90. Does anyone else experience this? Just general driving and the needle doesnt go over 90.

I dont think it would look half as bad, not that i like it, if those wheels werent colour coded to the rest of the car. -
Credit card or credit to hard work?
Critical_Mass replied to boost monkey's topic in General Car Chat
Yup i have ziderapple. It wasnt until i looked at my credit report that i found out T-Mobile had a black mark against me, stating i had an uncleared balance from 4 years ago!!! One phone call to experian, stating i've never been in debt to them and it has been taken off, or rather a note stating not to pay attention to it. You get 30day free and you can cancel it at anytime. If you forget to cancel it you will be charged £5 a month for it. -

Cheers Guy. Can you recommend a good fully synthetic for a reasonable price? Strike a balance between cost and quality. Thanks Gaz Yes, a few spring to mind http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-805-mobil-s ... e-oil.aspx http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-877-motul-8 ... hetic.aspx The dogs nadgers and top option http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1146-silkol ... gines.aspx For the highly modded or tracked! Cheers Top stuff, the price of the mobil synt 5 and the motul 8100 is same price as the Synta-Gold. May have to order some of that. Is there much difference between the mobil synt 5 and the motul 8100?
