It's been a while since i've posted up a few pics so i thought i'd post up an update. Just after i fitted the exhaust, i fitted some Zimmerman front discs, then took it straight out to Castle Combe where i sucessfully managed to turn all four of the discs and the exhaust blue! Ive also fitted some DDI gauges, thanks again to Zarman for sorting me out! But since then i've been concentrating on making the engine bay more appealing, so Lance at Trimsport has been coming in very handy! I'm currently converting the alternator/pulleys etc to mk3 so i loose the charger bracket, and i'm looking into fitting air con too, but that's quite a way away. Also the crappy standard intercooler is really letting the side down so i'm after a FMIC and after that a boost controller is on the cards!

They got more low down torque, but they run out around 4 grand.

A couple of months ago i bought a MK2 GTI to take the miles off of the raddo and generally run it into the ground doing all of the hard work i didn't want the raddo to do. It was a standard example with 150k on the clock, but that didn't bother me as they're nigh indestructable (i know, i've tried it a few times!). I told myself that i wouldn't spend any money on it, except for petrol... Where did i go wrong????? Within a week of getting it, i'd sourced some springs and lowered it, then, over christmas i put alloys on and 16v rear lights! That not being enough, i'm putting a stainless 4 branch and full stainless scorpion exhaust on next week! Is there something in golfs that scream 'modify me', or have i simply lost the plot???

Think i paid around £75 for the dials/filters delivered from Canada. Alternatively, check this out.

8v has more low down torque, but 16v has torque higher up the rev range and more bhp, so, in theory, he should beat you off the line, but you should pull him back. LCD one you mean? Yeah, i just opted for the MK4 look LCD filters.

I've got some DDI ones, and as long as you know the business end of a screwdriver, you can fit them! Contact zarman he can supply them.

I had to do that on my old mk 2, it was a vw recall i think, you can buy i pair of valves from vw (£60ish) and they attach to the two pipes going into the bulkhead just to the right of the head. If it's in a raddo, then you prob allready have them, they've just broken.

Wouldn't have anything to do with a (slight) loss of traction when the turbo spins up would it??? :D

Me too, apparently scorpion and cobra alarms can be reprogrammed, but since i gotta Toad, it's not much use to me! I did hear a rumour though, that Toad might do a converter that talks to VW keyfobs, sounded a bit far fetched to me, so i never gave it a seroius look.

I got one for mine brand new off of ebay for £18 delivered, the three button ones seem to be cheaper.

I've got mine under the original grills too, they work really well because the sound bounces off of the windscreen and hits you just right! I just cut the original tweeter holders to hold my new ones and they fitted a treat!

Don't necessarily need a Rallye, just find a golf syncro,they'd be a damn site cheaper to pick up and you wouldn't be taking another Rallye off the road!

You must have had a bad one mate, my Jetex is spot on and i've never had a problem with it.
