  1. The VR6 still is used in the golf's,bora ect its but has a 24 valve head plonked on,so as for the more modern engine the VR6 is still up there and the 20 Valve turbo is not much different than the old 8 Valvers and as we all know how strong the bottom ends are(why change something that is good) There is nothing quite like a turbod VR6 is there?!! but all in all the 20valve is the cheaper option
  2. Possible groaning rear brakes if they are sticky...? Or the shocker itself is groaning( more likley) James
  3. I Think you can have a 80mm drop on standard shockers but you may as well have no suspension :( 60mm is max if you want to have some decent ride. But its all up to you, but coilovers are the way to go(just my opinion) James
  4. Parts are cheap, labour isn't Its not what I call an easy job, waterpump and cambelt get replaced too,the head will be skimmed and new steam seals fitted and it wont just be a headgasket they buy in it will be a head set and its more then ten pounds!! This all depends on the garage that takes on the job. But were i work we do the lot.

  22. Naughty, Naughty, Naughty!!! When EVER you push the pistons back in on the calipers on a car that has ABS then you MUST un do the bleed nipples on the calipers before pushing the pistons back in.... this prevents over flowing the brake resv. but also prevents you from damaging the ABS!!!!! I would bleed the whole lot again - starting with the brakes then work your way to the master cylinder and then the slave cylinder... Can i ask how do you damage the abs unit? :?
  23. Hmmm whine in the back, oh dear... Fuel pump..? :( As for ECU dont think its possible to reset it unless you have diagnostics, cant see that sorting things anyway. :? Clean out idle valve ,it always helps. Cheers James
