Could anyone shed light on which wire is the ignition live on the heated window switch :help: Tim
-
I have the same problem, My ignition switch is faulty and I replaced it with a push button about a year ago. The stereo has always had a mind of its own and switches its self on and off at random. I know the permenant live is good as the ciggy lighter is off the same circuit ( it is moved to the glove box so took another feed). Would the fault lie with the ignition live as I used to be able to wiggle the keys and it would come back on. Although this dosnt work anymore. If I was to change that feed to the heated rear window swith would it cure it? Would be nice to get to the bottom of this one :help: Tim

Sorry, I end up refering to all cars as females as they can be such a pain in the a. But you cant help love them at the same time

Cheers fella, Where are you based and what are you driving. Have seen a few more c's round here. Put it down to summer :D

gearknob came from german ebay

Well the weather has been a bit better so have found the love to play around with her again. Being an Ipod virgin I got one last week and dont know how I survived before. And just wanted to play it in the car. But dont like wires all over the place. So have fitted a dock  It needs some fine tuning but works and only just gets in the way of my new knob. Prob not to everyones taste but was 20 euro. So gave it a go and quite like it. :D Tim

I have used one of the griffin docks from halford. Removed the ciggy lighter bit and then put a fuse in line and connected the live and earth to the headunit live. Then run an aux to the back of the headunit hiding all the wires under the center consol. Have cut out the coin holder and fitted the dock flush there. Will have to take it out and refit it tilting back at an angle as the gearknob just touches it so you have to be gentle on gearchange not to knock the pod out. But it works and looks good with no wires all over the place which is what I wanted. Will post som piccies up tommorow..... -
As above really. Has anyone modded an ipod dock to fit in the gear surround where the coin holders are. I am thinking about it and reckon I would need a power convertor and then could wire it into the aux on my headunit. I reckon there is enough room under the surround to cut out the coin holder and then weld the dock to the underside? Any thoughts? Tim

keeping obsolete service history / paperwork?

Same I keep every recipt for her. Be it small bits from the stealers or bits from halfords they all go in the folder..........If nothing else it is good if you ever (god forbid) have to make an insurance claim. -
Been thinking about this myself. I have a jabba filter  and have removed the carbon canister. Having a rs bumper helps as well. There is a handy mesh just waiting for a scoop to be fitted directing the air up to the filter. Tis one of those jobs I am saving for warmer weather though

Hi Guys, Just a quick one to see if anyone can help me. I really want to remove my side strips as they look awful and are starting to peel off and are missing some of the end stops. I know this has been covered and I know how to remove them but some muppet has painted the car whilst leaving them on!!!!!!!! :censored: So If I remove them there will be a depression in the paint. Is it possible for me to rub the joins down carefully with some fine wet and dry till it is smooth and then put some laquer on or will it stand out like a sore thumb. I am hoping that being a black car I might be able to do it with out it looking too bad. :help: Any advice. Cheers Tim
