yeah really nice all works well
-
cheers all. ljl16v the finish is good but i think the D90's would look ace diamond cut, the powder coating is ideal for a tuff finish under the car. hopefully have more pics this weekend as i got a second loom ready to cut and extend mine. the paint company is DTS brockhurst industrial estate and the powder coating is done by plasti-coat, again brockhurst industrial estate. i dont have numbers to hand as they are local to my work so i just pop in.

no these are the parts from my car it only took them 2 days i gave them on the tuesday lunchtime and picked them up first thing on friday morning. the only thing is it may pay to remove and rubber parts ie bushes as the get baked at over 200 degrees, and they may get damaged i just brought poly bushes as the colours go well as well. i was going to have my gearbox powder coated but the bloke said i would damage all my oil seals and could warp the shafts in the box dont really want to take one apart. everything was done by 2 companys in gosport

no everything you see on the floor was £75
-
yeah your are right, high gloss finish powder coating. more to come. hubs drive shafts and engine mounts.
-
got all my cross member, subframe, antiroll bar and wishbones back today. what do you think? should look good under the car.
-
hi, it was £1200 cash so no vat with 2 old blokes in a unit over gosport. they had it for about 4 weeks. i was well pleased with the results and the effort they put in.
-
thanks mate the list seems never ending.
-
removed my front and rear cross members both wish bones and my drive shafts, they are gonna be powder coated in a high power silver next week hopefully.
-
cheers for that mike quite handy, finding that people either love carbs or hate them. (bit late now already own them so that makes me a lover).
-
this is my drop on 9x16's using avo coilovers. i use this everyday. well untill friday when i took the engine out.
-
yeah thats what i thought. it was cos of you putting the 2ltr in my head at that meet that i am able to stand in my engine bay at the moment.
-
hi been doing a bit of serching, i have just removed my 1.8 16v on twin 40's. i want to make it a 2.0ltr on twin 40's. just need some advice. whats best, to fit my 1.8 head to a 9a bottom end or to get a whole 9a and swap the inlet cam or to get an abf(i think thats the other one) and leave it. bit of help to sort me out please. :?
-
started today first step of the plan. gonna make the engine bay as minimal as possible and also 2.0ltr it on carbs instead of keeping it an 1800. it was a bit nerve wrecking pulling it apart but there is no turning back now. my mate keeps trying to convince me to 20 valve turbo it but i think it would be something different to look at in a c if it was carb'd and bare. any opinions would be welcome as i am at the stage where i really need to decide. thanks.
-
yeah you do. but i used some flat pices of metal a socket and a f*** off big G clamp. your local garage will press them in for some money in their tea kitty i would have thought.
-
corrdovr6-n.o.s cheers mate that is really useful. i was worried i might not be able to do it but that advice is good enough for me to try.
-
yeah thought it would be heavy but willing to make that sacrafice, i dont use the car that much any way. (not really practical for the newly made family) my corrado isan early one as well.
-
so if i was to take the coloum from a golf as well would that work? thanks for your advice on this,
-
hi could someone confirm something for me. i am removing my power steering system as part of my engine bay tidy. does a non power steering rack from a mk2 fit on the corrado?? thanks
-
if the bolts are seized someone on here told me to wack a 15mm socket over them if the round off and belive me that worked a treat.
-
 yeah right this is enough work and its only a valver let alone a g60 i hear they are really hard to tidy. every time i do something i see something else i could move or polish, so thought take it all out and start from scratch. (best dig out the push bike for a few weeks, could job winter is not on the way) :(
-
needs to be done tho, it does not help seeing that red mk2 on the front of pvw this month. g60greeny just looking at the pic of your car there is something about it i really like it is very subtle and all the mods come together well.
-
i thought sod it today gonna do this engine bay properly taking the engine out on friday so i can clean engine and bay, gonna take my power steering off to loose the pump hoses and tank, i am also going to brave it and cut and reroute my loom as much as i dare. :? will post more pics this weekend.
