  1. Looks nice on the photos but thats not to say its gonna be any good when you turn up to view.........just cant gauge the condition from photos......... Does not have any mention of history either? Must be some even if you look at the V5 and ring the last owner (thats if he's not ex-directory!) that would be some reassurance? Good luck
  2. As long as there is no rust around the arches and the body work is good then the price is ok, would not let the mileage put you off as Ive seen plenty advertised for £1500 - £2000 that turn out to be rusty and generally unloved/tatty....but you dont mention service history, be nice to see a stamped book and old mots to gauge originality i would have thought? Things to check :- Heater works and the carpets are dry - lots of sunroof seals are knackered and if the heater matrix goes it will leave water in the passenger footwell - dash out job I believe to repair! bottom of the doors for rust all the other areas such as oil filler cap, boot, corner of the front wings etc for accident damage signs........
  3. Congratulations - Hope your all well
  4. Agree totally with VR6-er, dont bother travelling wait till one turns up locally, IMO its overpriced as well seeing as its not got leather/AC and has done 100k - cpl of years down the line it may well be on 125k + and be worth only 3-3.5k? Wheras if you buy wisely you should not loose much (apart from running it!) In my experience you really need to read through any warranty booklets that dealers give..........a lot of them are crap IMO

    Retro fitting ABS

Not sure who was more scared the bloke in front, car behind or me lol G60bv - I'll pick your brains at No rice about this as I need to start using the car to get to Crawley and back for work soon, dont fancy another incident like that again................I put it down to the rain but thinking about it the car should still lock and go forward in a straight line eh
  6. Anyone know as im in the middle of stripping them down to polish and clean before I upgrade to wider rims or sell them. Cheers

    Retro fitting ABS

Interesting post this, coming back from the coast on the A29 I was faced with a new astra breaking to turn right through the dual carriageway slip onto the other side, think i must have been tired as i noticed him a little late........slammed the anchors on and the back end stepped right out.................scared the *hit out of me, luckily i stopped breaking and looked in the offside mirror to make sure there was no car on the inside lane before steering round the car in front! Great brakes in the dry but wet is another matter without ABS.................
  8. yeah id agree with the Saabs, even the tame looking badged SE's have a great dollop of turbo performance, pretty good match for lightly breathed on G60's imo
  9. think the screws are hidden by a plastic/rubber cover on the fog lamp side of the indicator lens, should just lever out.
  10. Darren & Pitstop have installed laminate flooring to the workshop...........
  11. bv - theres one in Dorking if you have no luck with Austec (must admit Austec would be good so i can get a true comparison with the bhp figure i got there back in Jan04) Think Inter's is on the 8th May so id leave a clear cpl of weeks between the RR day and this so cars can get fixed if they do a wobbly on the rollers! lol
  12. when i fitted my focal's I took the whole tweeter out and bought a cpl of metal strips (like old mechano strips) from the audio shop for £2.00, cut them down, screwed the tweeter to the middle and bent them to fit across the tweeter hole, cover fitted over perfectly.
  13. G60bv, Id be up for that but surprised about wanting to use Austec

    Faster G60...

    210bhp would be the flywheel
  15. On my alternator I sanded it down with fine wet n dry then used autosol to shine it up! Comes out like the above.........
  16. thought as much, even with the 68mm pulley and Stg 4 (not that mine is putting out huge psi or anything) the Corrado's weight/gear ratios really work against it off the line!
  17. g-master, Id be interested in knowing how your brother's valver performs against the G60 upto 60? Always drive wifes golf 16v and it just flies in 1st making power all the way to the red line! Id guess they have got to have the edge in 1st and start of 2nd until the Corrado gets its weight moving? Is that right?
  18. id knock lots more than 10% off the retail if you want to sell them!
  19. if i was getting another immobiliser Id go for the virtual key type so you dont have to muck about de-arming each time you get in the car.......think they r about £130 for a clifford cat 2 device
  20. its gonna look great bananaman, funds pretty tight so i think most of my time between now and Inters will be spent cleaning and polishing bits in the engine bay!.....and may be wider rims for my RM's
  21. i live in surrey and would suggest a garage if i knew one! Sorry mate but sure someone on this forum will know of a garage.
  22. adding another charger style airfilter will improve the flow but i gather there are problems mounting the 2nd air filter as to do it properly you need to lower the radiator on custom brackets - suspect it would be pretty noisy with the induction roar as well
