dont agree with the 'age kills them rather than mileage', think you need to take each car you view on its own merits........Id look at all of them out there and decide which one you think has been looked after the best, with the 16v (1.8 as in Golf) engine I would not let mileage put you off as you see lots with 130-150k miles on nowadays and some of them are perfectly fine engines still.....all depends on how they have been looked after.

lol. what a nice story to start off a friday !

any performance figures been released for the Gti yet?
-
looks nice, do like the removal of the rear wiper....looks so much cleaner. Where did you buy the plug to hide the wiper arm hole ? VW ?
-
think garages can normally free them off, if not get the parts from some where like GSF and get the garage to fit if you cant. Would not say its not worth upgrading the brakes much, may as well put that money towards a schrick manifold from what i gather!

imo styling is not great and thats an awful lot of money for a Corrado.
-
....sell the leather (if its in reasonable nick) with someone who will swap 4 cloth and then sell the car

Surprised to see this being used as an undercover police vehicle, you would never clock so watch out people..........

might be wrong but I dont think 1860 is that bad, would not worry about it.
-
nice, especially like the front seats! Looking forward to seeing in the flesh @ E38 !

i did it with HIC, sent in pictures - interior, engine, each side, boot etc and a list of recent works/mods done - think it only cost 15-20 quid. as long as you dont take the piss and value your car at a silly amount then they tend to issue the cert with no problems, if you start trying to value ur G60 at 6k then I suspect they may not cover? Ive had it agreed valued @ 4k last renewal and in the process of spending 3k in one hit on the car...........I will notify HIC of mods and try and get it bumped up to 5k.........think it would take the piss believing the car will be worth any more. imo

dont know how you manage to smuggle them past the missis up to the loft................

window wont shut on my golf 16v, took the door trim off and connected the terminals the other way round so that the window shut.........obviously wont open now though.... can anyone confirm its the motor that i need to replace and do the Corrados use the same one as there is a thread selling them for £35........guess that must be cheaper than GSF ? Any ideas

If you have a nice Mk2 16v then make sure you get a decent C 16v or you may be unhappy.......our 16v Golf never seems to miss a beat and goes like *hit off a shov**............., if you get an unreliable C then it will cost you dearly and wont be as quick...................be more comfortable though. Not trying to put you off just hold out for a decent one and dont jump at the 1st one you see!
-
cant imagine they will live with a mk2 16v.................

vw's lined up

If you have spent that much money on the G60 I think you would be daft to sell it and let someone else have the pleasure while your spending a small fortune again on a VR6...
