  1. haha, nah i'm not stressed, I just hate my car, that's all. seriously though, I just feel so screwed over every time it does that. a friend of mine has a g60, which hasn't given him any trouble yet. oh well :) any help would still be appreciated.
  2. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! I want to scream and punch something right now. any volunteers?
  3. ok, this is how it went down: I was just sliding around a bit, since it has fell about 20cms of snow today, when the car just kind of slowly choked when I was idling in a slight uphill waiting to cross the road. It sounded like it didn't get gas, but that's not for certain. I tried to re-ignite it again, but the car only turned over three or four slow times, like the battery was dead. Then me and my friends tried to push it, but the passenger side (right hand) back wheel didn't turn. So we had to get a car or two to pull it to the side of the road, and that was barely possible because of all the snow and ice. I then got a hold of a flat bed truck and got it home. The wheel turned slowly, but it looked like it had the hand break all the way up or something, if you know what I mean. Once it hit ice, it just slid. so now it's sitting outside in a parking lot freezing. Right before it went out, I heard something I thought was the wind blowing hard (it really is blowing outside), the noise came from the right side, mainly from the back. It came and went away twice. Could this be the fuel pump? They were changed for not too long ago, both of them. When I stopped, it sounded like there was a big chunk of ice going back and forth in my gas tank. It really slammed into the sides, so you could hear it very well. that was kind of all of the facts. any ideas? This car seems to like to go completely bananas when it's the worst time possible for it to do so, and it usually f*cks up a lot of things at the same time whenever it has the chance. My car is evil. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. when I got my car, it was included a complete g60 engine and gearbox (not sure about if it came with a g-lader or not, it's still sitting at the seller's house. What would it be worth? Oh, and sorry if this should be under parts for sale, but it's not really for sale for you guys. or it is, but the postage would be pretty expensive :)
  5. "Hi, I'd like to ask you about some prices for my corrado" "Hm, excuse me? What did you say again? Corolla? I'm sorry, this is a volkswagen / audi store only. The Toyota store is next door." "..." "Oh, not a problem. It happens quite often." "...a Corrado. Volkswagen Corrado. G60." "Oh!" ...selbekk left the building pretty quick. I love my local vag dealership. I've found out that they use something called the Møller (the exclusive VAG dealership in Norway) multipication table. Think of whatever an item should be worth, and multiply with about 7.3. That's the average out of about 20 items I've asked for. New front bumper was about £650, unpainted, without any of the accessories (£130 for the 90mm spoiler, £60 for the ventilation grille, dunno the indicators and fogs). great.
  6. jboyslick, did you just clean yours? that's how mine is after about ... let's say 10 days of regular use. I hate to see it so dirty, but it only gets dirty within a few days anyways. F**k Norway and snow and winter and salting.
  7. thanks a lot. I'll have someone do it for me then ;) My mechanic quoted me £40 incl. parts and labour to do it, so I think my friend'll choose that. thanks anyways though, really nice to know how you do stuff. Perhaps I'll do mine, when I have to do them eventually. oh, and it was the outer boot. thx
  8. a turbo and a supercharger is pretty much the same on the inlet air side (conceptually anyways), so there wouldn't be any difference there. It's not a turbo gauge, it's a boost gauge. And both superchargers and turbos supply extra boost. Therefore, wouldn't mean a thing.
  9. I heard some water and soap and some carpet cleaner would do the trick. Relax, we won't tell anyone.
  10. okay, so I had my car and my friend's g60 jet ed. up on a (insert word for mech that lifts your car up so you can get dripped oil on) yesterday, and we noticed that the rubber boot around the cv joint on the driver side (LHD remember) was kind of... fecked it looked like, and there was massive amounts of crap in and around it. It looked like it had slipped up half an inch or so. So I guess we'll have to change the rubber boot. The cv joint will hopefully be fine, won't it? How do you change this rubber boot? What would need to come off and so on? cheers, krizzle schizzle selbekkizzle
  11. did this last night, easy as hell, except that I would probably fit new bolts next time. Is there a way of completely removing it w/o removing the iron from the plastic? I didn't see where the connectors for the fog lights were.
  12. when you're thrashing your car, and suddently want to change gears (and while doing that, step off the throttle and smack the clutch in), there will be a lot of excessive pressure (since the g-lader still keeps spinning). This is vented through a second butterfly in the throttlebody, and is further ducted through the boost return system which recycles it. Or out in fresh air if you remove the boost return system, which gives you that nice wooooooooooooooooooo (you could keep on going here) ooosssssssch sound. The ISV leaks air past the intake butterfly on idle (right?). I've also heard something about the ISV venting excessive pressure on high boost levels (i.e. bigger pulley). That's why you use something like a ISV re-route kit (which I have no idea what does), or even better, just smack on a small air filter on it. Problem sorted. Now you just have to go through mcd's and order some fries and you'll be well chuffed. Seriously though, there are a ton of info on this page somewhere I think. :D
  13. looks like a sorted motor you got there, Shaggsy! What do you have planned for it the next few months?
  14. looks great! got any recent engine bay piccies? or any general pics of your car lately? oh, and what's left to do before the show season starts?
  15. nah they would work alright. mine does anyways, and I've been stuck in -25 degree weather for a while. just wait a few minutes before you use them.
  16. I'd guess they would just tap into any +12v ignition live feed. but don't trust me, ask jeeves.
  17. hehe, just thought about that myself. embarassed
  18. hi, I just wondered if I could just buy the new style black surrounds / vents / glovebox / heater controls to make my old interior look like a new one? Obviously the door cards etc wouldn't match, and I would need new switches and all, but my main concern is whether I need the entire shell or not? and is the old slider to new twist control heater conversion hasslesome? cheers, kris
  19. well, the veyron got two of em. put together.
  20. stevemac, sure looks cool, but isn't really worth it imo. Perhaps if you were to move the battery to the back. you get 0000 cable, if you really want to get jiggy with it.
  21. the seats are black with red stitching and the back of the seats also have the red stuff on them. The door cards and rear quarter panels are covered in the same material. and that's it. the gaitor is the same, as is the steering wheel, dashboard and condoms.
  22. I wouldn't change my three spoke leather original one for anything. perfect size, perfect finish, perfect fit and that nice OEM look I'm looking for in my car. I had some aftermarket dino wheel on my car for a while, but I think it feels so cramped and tiny, and it looks totally out of proportion with the rest of the interior.
  23. Andy T, ey, are you talking crap about my country again? oh well, getting used to it by now ;) today I found the badge in the glove compartment. nice thieves.
  24. my friend has a red jet with red jet interior. looks awesome. you can say whatever you want, but they are REALLY cool. And they look good also.
  25. 4 gauge is more than enough for most amps. if you are thinking of going for a more powerful system with several amps later, 2 gauge might be useful. 10 gauge is waay too small for a power cable. Use quality gear when you do the power cable, as it is a pain to re-do.
