  1. Hi, my friend kinda put his car in the ditch earlier this year. it turned out very little was damaged. however, he needs a new front bumper. In addition, the panel (a bit rusty) was bent backwards a bit. Is it replaceable, is it available from vag and / or gsf/eurocarparts (etc.), and how much should I expect to pay for it? cheers, kris.
  2. iow_corrado_g60, they are not a hard job to do. At least on the back, but I reckon it will be the same up front. Remove your brake discs. The bearings are on the inside of them. Get them out, either by poking or using something else (okay, I don't remember how I got them out, but it ain't rocket science). Then use a bearing press, or a hammer and a soft piece of metal to get it in the recess. Refit everything with a sh*tload of grease and job done.
  3. DEL VR6, they are horrible. the connectors have a crap design. I just ended up taking the leds out of their sockets, and fit it to the original mountings. It's not worth the money though, it's not even worth changing the LEDs to be honest. just cut out a new light filter for the same effect for ten pence.

    Car Cover

perhaps it hooks around the mirrors / wipers in front and open tailgate in the back? Kinda tempted to have something similar, but afraid of hurting my paint job.
  5. what's the difference between wax and polish? is polish more like rubbing compound? and is nxt tech (meguiars right?) better than gold class? (sorry I know there are threads to discuss this, but I was just trying to get a quick idea before I go out and buy a bottle for the spring clean up)
  6. great wheels! can't wait to see them on your car! rear end rebuild sounded bad, did you get rear ended by some fool? What did you pay for these? Would look great on mine ;)

    Sunroof

I had the same problem a couple of days ago. A new switch did it for me. Now works perfectly. Perhaps, when you push the switch so hard, it shuffles the mech just enough so it will make marks in the panel. kris
  8. haha you make me sound like skywalker  I'll get out and take the battery home today and charge it. If I just get it inside my garage (200m away on public road), it would be ok, since i'm going to dublin all next week and I'd hate for it to sit out in the snow and freeze all up. Even with a locked up back wheel, would it be safe to drive it slowly for that distance? The roads are very snowy, so it won't be a major disaster for the tire. The wheel turned very hesitantly when dragged up on the flat bed (nose first, since the old owner had removed the rear tow eye, which I didn't even know was done). Thanks for the advice so far, but don't you think the wheel could be the hand brake? I think it happened when I stopped in the intersection, not before that. Or perhaps a bearing? cheers, kris.

    BBM Fuel rail

g60greeny, shh! you'll just get him arrested. how many have you guys arrested now? 60? wow would be nice to just suddently have 53 mill pounds to play around with. would probably get a vr then. :D fuel rails look good.
  10. the car has never been driven in the winter before, but it has been in norway since 02, so I'm sure the guy before me used a sensible amount of anti freeze. It usually starts up all right, it has just cut out on me twice now, which is starting to pizzle my nizzle off, naa mean?
  11. the heater matrix job is a bitch, yeah. there's an awesome guide on corrado-club.ca. One of the best guides I've read to be honest. Doesn't look too bad. It's a common fault, but I don't know how much the matrix alone will cost you.
  12. welcome to the forum, MARLBORO_LITE! If you use the search, you'll find a lot of info there. most stuff have already been covered trice. Don't feel bad though, I ask for stuff like this all the time ;)
  13. vwsam20, I do not have an immobilizer, but I do have a turbo timer which is draining a wee bit, and the stereo might too (a tiny bit, that is.). I am going to buy a new north star g2200 or g2700 battery in a few days / weeks. I'm sure I'll get it started again. The major problem is the rear wheel. Could it just be the parking brake wire that's fecked? cheers, kris. sorry for dragging on about this, but I really want the car back to at least driveable shape! Could it just be ice and snow that's blocking the brakes?
  14. what kind of wheel width would be good on 16x9" rims for a good stretch? (about what retroactivefunk has on his?
  15. since I usually take my switches in and out on a daily basis (it seems like it anyways), it would be horrible to have spade connectors on the back of them. I'll rather pay £50 any day than doing something half way. imho.
  16. mine is on 15's with the 90mm spoiler (60mm drop), and I've kinda... broken it. Now, I like to go 50 km/h over speedbumps (I think I actually had some airtime once), and I'm not as careful as I should, so it could work. I don't remember how it was on my summer wheels (17s), but I think the snow and ice tears it up a bit now. It's possible to drive around town, and as long as you go as slow as 2nd gear will let you over speed bumps, you'll be alright. What I noticed is that while you can get the car up on ramps and flat beds without scraping, it doesn't stand a chance coming down. Mine folded nicely down, but that's because it's cracked. I'll fit a 50mm whenever I get up on a ramp again, and try to repair the old 90mm so I could use it for the show season.
  17. well, they are... "genuine", just not for the g60 :) perhaps it would look cool, but I think the original badging is nice as it is. I'm not paying a tenner to find out, anyways
  18. every how to guide should start with "find out the size and type of every bolt and screw you are going to use. Buy three or four new sets.", imo anyways ;)
  19. I think it looks awesome! just get it dropped now, and it'll be ace! Airbags are possible, but I don't know how much it will f*ck up the handling. Coilovers will probably be your best bet, to be honest.
  20. some times it's definately better to spend a few extra quid on oem parts. cv joints, and oil filters to name a few.
  21. it usually doesn't - it started fine, no problems 5 minutes earlier.
  22. I drove it okay to school and back though? It's about -6 out right now, but there has been anything from -25 to +7 back to -5ish the last week.
  23. drove my car, then my car stopped, then everything that could go wrong, went wrong (some dude even backed into my front bumper). It's now here at home just off the flat bed truck. wrote the whole story in the engine bay forum, so read it there. Corrados can be suck backstabbers every once in a while :$
  24. just a guess, but I'd reckon a vr6 would be way harder for the starter engine to turn over. It has 6 big muthaz to turn around. I don't know though, so wait for someone in the know :D
