  1. Bought it thru another dealer - but after some conversation via e-mail they seem to have gone silent again.....:( Won't be dealing with them again my self.
  2. hmm, ok - thnx guys - yea the Passat is a early VR6.
  3. yea, it would have to be driver side here.....:)
  4. Now it seem like I have to get new brake hoses from VW for the front as well - and I guess I will be going OEM on the ones from the rear stub as well. One of the front one doesn't seem to seal - and even got it looked over by a mechanic with 30+ experience - he didn't "dare" to thighten anymore. What a waste of money these lines where.......can't say I will bring positive comments regarding the goodridge hoses.....:(
  5. I thought the Passat VR6 and the Corrado VR6 fron hub/assembly was the same - but found out the Estorils rims I use on the passat actually touch the calipers in front of the corrado - do these cars have different ET's etc?. I was under the impression that wheels on a VR6 is pretty much interchangable.......but so wrong can one be :) they fit fine in the back though...:)
  6. Any of you guys have any experience with tracking systems? - thinking of installing one when the car is finished. Are there any good systems that will run on battery backup and send back data to the net so one can monitor it my self - in case of theft?.
  7. what's the nsf suspension tower? (but when you say the steering reservoir I guess I be able to maybe at least have a look in that area...:) Any one got a pic of it feel free to post :) thnx again :)
  8. Ok, is it attatched with bolts, or only put down on some knobs? - and should it hold anything else then this clip on the cable to the fan harness?. if you know ?
  9. Any idea where this bracket is supposed to be fitted?. Also should it be more stuff on it then the clips from the line to the fan?.
  10. Finaly some real progress being done on this Corrado. - Got new brake lines and hoses +++ fitted (going to have to get some new OEM VW brake hoses though as the goodridge stuff I bought is total cr** IMHO - the rear was wrong, and the front ones (one side) doesn't seem to hold the seal properly...:( ). - Got the engine fitted in the car - still some electric to be connected, and some of the water hoses etc. - Missing the air-intake as I lost the gasket between the TB and the air intake - new one ordered. - Partly fitted the Hartmann Exhaust system - missing the midle "pipe" as I have to cut it to fit. Some pics of the progress: As it sits tonight: The Hartmann Exhaust: And finaly a somewhat to dark photo from the bay:
  11. thnx guys, as I thought - it was a he**** trying to get it to fit over the plastic at the bottom - luckily when I looked thru some of the parts I'v bought for the car - and was going to fit the gruvenparts fuel line thingys I discovered that I also had that Gruvenparts thingy for the Water pump, so solved the problem in the end :)
  12. Searched around the net, to no avail. Anyone have a picture of the water pump sitting in the to rubber "holders" ? I suspect the lower one is supposed to sit far down and over the bottom plastic part of the pump. Also if anyone happen to have a detailed picture of the wiring around the starter/alternator area that would also be apreciated :) thnx
  13. Yeasterday: - Fitted new clutsch - throwout bearing etc. - Bleed the new brake system that was installed the day before - and found out goodridge hoses are crap - Now ordering OEM VW. - re installed the engine/transmission (not hooked up) - Partly fitted the Hartmann Exhaust. Today: - Got the Corrado towed back home with a tractor :) (had been working with it at a place with lift - and help of a friend :) ). - Mostly fitted the Samco water hoses. - Started hooking up the electric system. - Somewhat cleaned up the space the Corrado have been sitting this winter when I'v worked on it :)
  14. Wouldn't worry to much about it not making it - haven't driven my C much, but when I got it I took it from Stockholm, Sweden to Bergen, Norway (roughly 1000 km) and never was a problem (and this was with a car that did not have the chain done, and was unsure of servicing it had received) - turned out later that one of the "guides" or whatever you call it was broken when I replaced the chain - the engine seemed to have been given proper care though as the cylinder walls seemed as good as the day it came from the factory :)
  15. Fromt the Top Gear one: How wrong could they be....lol.....:)
  16. think I'm wrong - as I see the one connection I thought about further back in the image.....:(
  17. Not 100% sure - but I think it might connect to one of the sensors on the oil filter housing???....
  18. Tried to locate the gasket for the TB, gave up and have to order a new one from VW...:) Also noticed I'v ripped up the cable from the ABS contact so guess I will have to get a new one of hose as well.....:).... The positive thing I guess is that if VW see parts being bought they will keep on producing em....lol....;)
  19. thnx m8, I guess it will never be a "show" car - but hopefully will get good in the end - hope the powder coating works out good - if not I guess I have to take it back and get it re-done in another color lol...:) I guess the "blue sparkle" is the one people is most "vary" about - but it realy do look black in real life ;) Cheers!
  20. thnx - realy starting to see the end of the tunnel - even though it's still some work to be done....;) Anyone happen to remember if the engine can be lowered down, and getting the driveshafts to fit, without loosening em at the outside - or taking down the wheel-hub to get more "space" ?.
  21. After a loooong and cold winter it's finaly time for some more small updates. Got the drivetrain re-fitted, and it's now able to stand by itselfe :) (Today - so a small mile stone). The rear axel ready to go on - brakes refurbished at Bigg red and everything else is new (don't mind the old brake line - it's getting replaced)...:) Looks like it could do with a small scrub: And no - it's not the rims I plan to use :)
  22. I ended up having to get them from VW - as the supplier have gone silent on me (I will try further - as it's a big retailer in the U.K so hopefully they will eventually get back to me) - but the trouble is that I get my brakes done early next week - and have to have some lines ready.....:(
  23. Already did the cleaning :) but they'r fitted now - thanks for the tips anyhow - ended up thighten it and it came nicely along......:)
  24. great! - seem's to me that's the same trouble there is with mine :) Tere should not be a copper washer - and also the "end" should be same as the front one........ I presume it would be ok for me to forward this to the supplier I bought it from ?.
