  1. thnx m8, what I thought was correct - but did you use the nut that came with the KW's to hold the bearing - I was thinking of using some nuts that's a bit "lower" and doesn't go thru the rubber thingy...;) thnx again
  2. hmm, getting a bit confused now - got some input from someone else telling me this is the original nut: and should use that instead.....not holding the rubber mount....
  3. And to answer my own Q it seem that the last pic is the right one - and the nut should be alright..........
  4. Put on the rear KW struts, and tried to figure out the assembly of the front ones - Think I got it now :) Installed the oil-pressure sensors etc on the refurbished engine :), and assembled the new Thermostat housing and thermostat + new sensors.
  5. thnx, don't have the same but I think I figured it out :) (I'v got a big "lump" sticking out from a "Y" under one of the sensors), but I think that is supposed to be on the right on the pic, with a blue sensor on top. :)
  6. My KW's came with DHL - but this is in Norway. I tracked the package here: http://www.interparcel.com/
  7. Or is this the way to do it - this is how the vw part catalouge lines it up:
  8. hmmm, AFAIK this is the way they go on: but I'm not convinced that the nut I have from germanautoparts is the one that's supposed to be there, as I was under the impression the bearing should be able to rotate freely inside the rubber bushing - and the nut doesn't go "thru" the rubber. Anyone have pics of an OEM - from VW nut that's sits in this area?.
  9. Ok, thnx, I presume it doesn't matter that the nut won't go all thru the rubber ?, or should the blank nut that followed the suspension be used over the bearing, and then this from german autoparts be used on the top of the strut?, got a bit worried it might not "turn" correctly if the nut doesn't go thru the rubber? Also in the rear I presume the inly thing needed is the 2 rubber "mounts" on the top, and not the OEM "rubber ring" and the metal plate that holds this ring?. Thnx again for any feedback :)
  10. Any idea if there is any difference in which place the sensors goes in ? (don't have the car here I'm at now, so can't remember if it was colors on the sensors itselfe).
  11. Would be great if you upload the picture yea. thnx
  12. When I dissasembled the oil filter housing I of course forgot to take pics, so if anyone happen to have a detailed picture which shows what sensors hoes into what hole - and maybe also displaying the wires (without the rubber covering it), that would be really appreciated. Tried searching here and google - but no one seem detailed enough :(
  13. Just a quick Q I used this nut between the rubber and bearing - don't want to take it down again to check but can anyone confirm it fits, I presume the rubber should be mostly in contact with the bearing - and the nut go "thru"?...... Just if anyone know - or else I'l take it down again...lol....:) The nut:
  14. Ok, I thighted as far as the pipe would go down (it stopped in the top of the rod), but wasn't much tention on it,l guess it should be alright then....;) thnx again...;)
  15. Currently doing this job - How much is "Too much and/or too little?? thnx..:)
  16. Your car is just plane awesome - if mine turns out half as good I'm pleased :)
  17. I have a electric "tigersaw", so could use that one, but problem is that I have plugged off the brake hose/pipe that goes out from regulator, and want to keep the fluid in the system for now - only drilling as I want to take of the bracket for rear beam to give it a coat of paint...:) (I want to wait hacking it to pieces until I'm ready to do the brake system...;), so it don't start to rust inside...:)
  18. Another small update. The engine is now almost ready, the chain have been done, new lifters, new valve stem seals, MK4 head gasket, new stainless crack pipe, all new plastic (thermostat housing etc), all new sensors on the oil-filter housing, and in thermostat housing. it's pretty much assembled only missing the crack pipe/thermostat housing + a few other bits a pieces. The block have also been etched primed and painted with anthracite gray. Some bad phone pics from the painting: Etch primer: And the anthracite gray paint (2 coatings) (I did 3 thin coats - but pics taken after second painting) (it's currently drying up the last layer)..;) Also managed to fit the front "drivetrain" Now time for some X-mas BEER!...:)
  19. Finished painting the engine block :) Started to drill out the bolts going thru the f**** brake regulator valve - what a pain in the a**** :)
  20. Put on Primer - on the block - tomorrow it's time for final coating :) The masking up was the worst part :)
  21. Personaly I would go with the original - Brombeer (LK4Z), Black berry :)
  22. It was a dirty job - but now the engine block have been preped for base-coat tomorrow, only left to degrease it. Also managed to refit the front drivetrain today (not the suspension) - but atleast some progres - FORWARD :)
  23. The grease is probably fine - just bought some bearing grease from Würth and that was also dark.... But then again I could always be wrong...;)
  24. Unpacked the newly arrived Hartmann Exhaust system :) /(well it was actually yesterday).....:)
