  1. Don't have engine in - and refitting the old ones after replacing boots, I get it far enough to fit the nut, so guess I can just thighten it up....
  2. Trying to refitt the drive axels, but have big trouble getting the outer CV joint to get thru the wheel hub. Any idea if it's a thight fit - and maybe need some force used and/or put the nut on and use that to kinda "drag" the joint thru?. I get it far enough to fit a nut on it.... I'v tried to clean it up good and also tryed some small amount of grease on it to no avail...:(
  3. Yea would be greate with some info - apreciate it!.
  4. Any of you guys used this type on your cars? - or is it also available with that "cone" tip?. (I'm thinking of going with the OEM hose at the rear if this can't be had with the cone)....
  5. The one I got look like this: The one on the left is supposed to go in the rear caliper - the other one is for the front caliper. I would presume and would like the tip to be the same on the rear as the front - without the bras shims thingy (it should be like that "cone" tip to get it "thight").
  6. Personally I kinda fell in love with this car at a very young age - not knowing what car it was at the time - other then it was a VW. I was sitting in my fathers car - must have been around 12-14, his car had just been serviced at a local VW shop and I think he actually was in paying the bill or something - I sat there in the car, when suddenly this "not seen before" car turned in and parked in front of me - I saw the back of it and I guess from that point I was hooked. But it was not until many years later I actually found out what car this was (The Corrado was never sold new in Norway due to prices/taxes - although 1 or 2 might have gone thru the "main dealership" here - as a kinda "import). Even if it took many years I ended up with it - and hopefully will get it on the road a bit later this summer - luckily had the pleasure of driving it the rough 1000 miles from Stockholm, Sweden to Bergen, Norway :) But for me it's mostly the look, and the handling - also it's not as common as most other cars. And just totaly hooked on the VR6 engine . which I'v had in my Passat for the last 5 years without any trouble ;)
  7. Yea, a pic would be great. Can it be that the calipers differ on the Corrado's ?? (AFAIK there where both Girling, and some other brand (the one I have)) delivered on these cars?.
  8. I was thinking that thought but unsure what the difference is between those - is it only the "coned" fitting that differs?.
  9. I bought a goodrich "braided" line brake hose kit from deamon-tweaks late last year. Stated a 95 VR6 - now that we try to fit the cables to the rear caliper it seem to have a wrong type of "cone", and it seem to "bottom" before it actually seals. Anyone else used these kits - and know what might be wrong.... just sendt them a mail, hopefully they can sort this out. If I end up going with OEM - could I still use the braided on front and on the ones that goes to the axel ? (ie OEM on rear and braided on rest) ?
  10. About to install the brake proportion valve onto a refurbished axel - according to a mechanic I know it's supposed to be a certain distance between the hole on the arm and the hole on the valve-body itselfe. Anyone know the default distance? (I presume this will have to be changed if the car is lowered etc)?. It's on a VR6.
  11. Anyone know the part numbers for the complete assembly around the brake proportion valve?. I have the "spring", and the valve, and also some "roller" - but I think maybe this roller is supposed to be on the G60 or other cars then the VR6 - as it's a bit different then the others?. What I need is the number for the polts/"spacers" etc that is holding the spring to the regulator and axel. Also if anyone happen to have a pic of the setup that would be great - as it's been a while since I took it apart - and some older parts are missing in action...;) Thnx
  12. Good for you! :) Have you posted pics?. Other than that I did (yeasterday) refit the brake caliper carriers, the "dust shields", and did some more cleaning of the gearbox........starting to closing in on refitting the rear beam, and getting that engine back in.........da*** I look forward to driving this thing for real after I bought it :)
  13. If it's the thing on the pic you strugle to get out - and don't have a tool like the one I showed - you might be able to somehow "lock" the wheel-hub thingy it sits in, and maybe use a jack on the joint it selfe to get it out?. I would def work it out from underneath I think.
  14. You could get yourselfe on of these :) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-13914-Ball-Joint-Separator/dp/B0001K9PKU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=diy&qid=1268920508&sr=8-1
  15. yea, I'm thinking of the small spring that is thightened up with the nut that goes on top of the bearing. So then if I understand correctly I should thighten this nut so far as that the spring itselfe is completely pressed together?. cheers!
  16. Are the upper "spring" supposed to be compressed to a certain level or totaly compressed?
  17. Anyone got a picture showing the area around the brake regulator on the VR6? (it's a while since I removed it, and it turned out I'v gotten som G60 parts etc......so would be nice to see what's wrong). thnx
  18. By the look of it, you can't be that far away...lol....:)
  19. AFAIK you are correct, the price is per item, and the "number of items" that shows up is number of items to do a complete replacement,,,,;)
  20. Lately I'v been thinking of getting a Passat CC as a winter beater, but costing a little "fortune" here in Norway for a 170HP TDI or a 160 Petrol, I have started to think that I might just go ahead and get another C with a VR6 (maybe even consider a 16V due to mpg) - as I'v never driven a C during winter time - how does it handle on winter roads?. And would it be a viable option as a winter beater ? (will obviously receive nice treatment during summer time to avoid rust due to salty shitty roads....;) )
  21. Seriously considering this my winter beater now that I will change my job, and actually have to drive to work...... Also opting for maybe getting another C as a winter beater, but not sure......only time will tell I guess - will have to get my current C on the road first :)
  22. Got a guy to tear apart the alternator so I can get it powdercoated....:)
