they stick out about about 20mm past the arch, BUT that is with a larger 1.75" lip instead of the standard 1.5" (i think) lip, so would be pretty much flush with the arch on standard 301s (and thats using 20mm adapters) so if you did the VR6 5 studs conversion, it would save you 20mm to start with....
-
im using 305 disks that are drilled for both 4x100 and 5x100. but they fit fine even using the 20mm adapters so should fit without adapters no problem.
-
Im converting my hubs to 5 stud, using VR6 hubs and outer CV's. Ive also got some 20mm 4x100 > 5x100 adapters, which i wont be needing anymore, and YES Seat 4 pots and 305mm disks will fit behind them and work fine, i trial fitted them to my ones a while back, ill put some pics up when i get home....

Insurance.. How much are you paying? *With Revised Poll*
G60SC_Stoney replied to IrishG60's topic in Insurance
i got quoted £1200 for my Corrado project (when it goes on the road): 5000 miles a year £8000 agreed value 2 years no claims Garaged cat 1 alarm and im 22. -
What he said ^^ key wont work.
-
yeah i'd remove the grille and pull the cable down to get to the battery, failing that call out the AA, im sure they will get in it for you.....Or brick the windscreen and claim on insurance!! only have to pay £50 usually!
-
i spy furkz G60 at 1min 44sec looks like its at Gwerks....
-
nice one, sounds like a quality idea!
-
hmm, you are right there i dont like the word drilling, oh well. looks like standard one colour coded. Now, does anyone have any ideas for a good bonnet release?? im determined not to use a bonnet cable (well the standard setup anyway) as its complete crap and i want to make a better one, now i believe a solenoid is a good option, but not sure how to set it up....any ideas?>?

ah well you see ive still got locks on my handles so i can afford to lose the boot lock. If the fob dies i find it easier to stick the key in the door lock instead of the boot lock and climb in that way, especially when you have a rear strut brace and lovely retrimmed leather seats.... Oh and junkie, the longevity of the lupo blades is not an issue, as she wont be driven in the wet if i can help it, and looking at that TT wiper thread it has words such as 'trim' and 'grind' which wont go to well on a car im spending a lot of money on. Ill have a search for pics of these delocked boot plinths, might buy both and swap them over when i change wheels every week!
-
ah yes forgot about the plate surround! nice one. Im sure ive seen one that has the lock removed, any idea of where i can get them ?? rear wiper has been removed and all smoothed off Rear lights-im still unsure of what to do with them, as much as i like the all red setup of some peoples, i just dont want them to look homemade! As Goldie car is top dollar ill take a look at his sometime and decide, otherwise ill find something new and different. Whats the difference between lupo wipers and Audi TT wipers ??

what you have to realise is that the cost of the respray has nothning to do with the paint itself. Its the labour of paying someone to do the prep work and then spraying it, so you'd probably be just as well off getting it sprayed the same colour. Cheapo resprays usually mean cheapo work, the reason mine is costing so much is that the guy is a legend at using 'old style' lead filler, whereas most bodyshops these days use a modern 'easy to use' filler that sinks after a while, meaning you need to get it done again, and again until its done, with lead filler you dont hence why im getting it done properly the first time. If i had £1k to spend on my bodywork, id get the rust sorted, any holes/dents filled properly and then a cheap respray in the same colour, that way at least you know you have a straight rust free shell thats ready for a good respray when you can afford it. after all if you are willing to drive a matt black car its highly unlikely you care what people think about the colour/appearance of your car!
-
door handles are being sprayed so theres no need to buy new ones, and im undecided on what size chin spolier to go for, id like the 90mm still but if it goes lower it'll have to be a 50mm...
-
the rear screen is scratched where we transported a cabinet in the back once, and it rubbed against the screen over bumps, and the front screen will be an insurance job....
-
yeah they arent going back on. also dont need a new grille as ive got one being sprayed.
-
ok my corrado is nearly finished being done, so i think i need to compile a list of all the trim and other bits that will nedd replacing to make everything look new again, so far i have: Windscreen Rear screen Black sunroof trim 2 x roof trim 2 x boot hinge trim 2 x spoiler trims 2 x wing mirror rubbers 2 x headlights 2 x fogs 2 x indicators 2 x Lupo wipers and arms any one think of anything else ??
-
why not just get a cheapo respray in the original colour on the bits that are in bad shape ??if you can live with a matt black car and the stigma that will go with it, then surely you can live with people saying 'they bodged the spray job on that one!' Think yourself lucky your respray will only cost £2k mines costing me £5500!

If you got rid of your C what modern car would you have?
G60SC_Stoney replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
i'd rather have the real thing, no point in having bits of fords and jags stuck together, even if you do fit a massive chevy V8 in it! -
i have trouble doing it in the daytime, i disconnected the wiring from the starter motor when i was fitting a boost pipe back on a while back, took me 2 hours to figure out why the car wouldnt start! dumbass!

Audi S8, so i could grow old gracefully... -
well done mate.
-
maybe the ignition switch is kaput ?? can you not run a live to the starter motor from the battery ?? could be a dodgy coil maybe ?? try and see if there are any connections that look weak/manky in the engine bay.
-
dodgy connection to the starter motor maybe ??

What kick? I've have driven a couple and all I can percieve 'on the cam' is more noise, more harshness and no appreciable extra urge! As for the sound, to my ears, they just sound like some chav is trying to get 16,000 rpm from his Saxo engine. What I do like about the CTR is it's gearshift and it's incredible chassis stiffness. Corrado chassis feel very rickety and limp in comparison to the CTR's, but they're going to though, being 11 years older. Nothing a bit of bracing and good coilovers can't cure. I just don't get the whole VTEC thing. You can get 200hp from a 9A valver with cams, 4 branch and better injection, but you get 165ish torque to go with it, not the Honda's pathetic 142lb/ft. I admire the engineering, don't get me wrong, I just despise Rhonda owners who think they're driving 911 GT3s. I think ive just found my future bride! I completly agree with you, whats the point of having 200BHP when you have to go to make your engine scream to get there. My brother in law had an integra Type R for a very short period of time, completly hated it, he found the drive very on/off (most annoying) so then went back to his Prodrive scooby, boy does that thing go!
