  1. sounds like a dodgy connection inside the switch, pull it apart and have look.
  2. ok, fair nough we all spe, im guilty of that ill admit, but 170+down a motorway is stupid, i went silly speeds in my first G60 because i was a stupid littl Tw*at who wanted to try out his new fast car, and i KNOW how fast things come towards you at those speeds, and you don have much time to react, sure he might be driving a porsche, but does that mean he can drive safely? My grandparents had all sorts of fast cars when they were old, but i bet you wouldnt want one of them coming up your ar*e at 170Mph, fact is he is a dumbass and got caught. Shoot him.
  3. i had he same poblem on my healight switch, they only clik t the first position and not all the way. ended up getting a 2nd hand one frm someone on here...
  4. good call, i would have done the same thing, people like that need a good kicking.
  5. maybe try some of this stuff ??? http://www.carcarpets.co.uk/1_sprays.htm
  6. sorry to see that chap, not nice at all. Hope she gets what she deserves. Unfortunatly it doesnt take much to write off a corrado, and i think yours will be off to the scrappers.... :(
  7. i say just get it resprayed, at least then you know you have a decent base to work from, with no rust that can re-appear etc. afetr all machine polishing can only do so much, and will make whats left stand out even more....
  8. ive seen a few suspect looking Sprinter inetercooler setups and they look really nasty, and dont really fit TBH. i would go with the above and say fit a Pro-alloy one or buy a Golf G60 one....
  9. yeah will take about 45minutes max....
  10. maybe take the LCD bit of the clocks apart and put it back together again?? sounds like a loose connection to me. (happend when i fitted my DDI gauges)
  11. any chance i can pretend im him and have it instead?? (first dibs if he dont show!)
  12. how come there are police everywhere else except where i live then ?? no joke but i havent seen a police car in or around haslemere for well over a month! wish we would though as there are some right N*bbers about....
  13. yeah well the way i see it is that you want it done once and you want it done right.
  14. yeah well thats why its only going to be for weekends, until the paint gets chipped/dented or scratched, then im off for trackdays and try and blow her up  but seriously, prices will vary wherever you go, and so will the quality of work, the goon who owned my car before me, had a few panels resprayed and the sprayer didnt even key the surfaces properly by taking off the old original paint. Meaning that his new paint just flakes off ontop of it, looking really tatty. The expensive part of a respray is in the preparation, actally spraying the car takes no time/money at all in comparison.
  15. that is the only issue, but as most people have alarm systems linked up to their central locking, they dont need to use the key, unless the keyfob stops working. In which case you go in through the boot i suppose ??
  16. well my full on back to the metal respray with lead filler, all rust removed, resealing of the car and a few bit smoothed off cost/ is costing £5500. But that really is a to of the range job. Comes with the special guarantee that if there is anything im not happy about, then it will be done again, and again until im perfectly happy. Hence the reason im going to be as picky as F*ck!
  17. yeah they are an exact swap i think, the only difference between them and the originals is that they have no keyholes.
  18. the VR was a shed, needed A LOT of work doing to it to get it right. Regarding your engine, my missus thinks it will be a bit too Fast for her, and due to insurance reasons we will have to decline, instead we are just going to get her current engine rebuilt to standard spec. Thanks all the same, (if it was my choice i would have had it, as i know in the future all she is going to want is more power!)
  19. Does anyone else think that the car is either really BIG or the guy sitting in the car in picture 4 is really small?? the wing mirror looks like its bigger than his head??
  20. no exactly like mine, nobody likes a copycat....
  21. dont think you can remove the side repeaters for legal reasons. you could get the groove in the wing mirrors filled so they are smooth, remove the roof aerial completly or put a little shark fin style one on there (like BMWs have) remove the roof strips and have them filled and smoothed over, get the lips on the arches rolled back (incase you havent already). smooth the sills over to get rid of the bumpy texture, fit and colour code some passat rear door handles...
  22. how come the VR6 vs G60 argument comes up quiet frequently and yet there is hardly any (if any at all) arguments for 16v Vs G60 or 16v Vs VR6??
  23. yeah very sad, just heard it on the news this morning. he was a top bloke who bought rallying into the public eye.
  24. thats sooooo nice mate, really wish i bought it now. i was kind of hoping there would be something major wrong with it, to justify me not buying it last week! i think the small bumpers are cool, big bumpers are on their way out i think, get it slammed and get some BBS on there!
  25. ill let you know if im still after it by Monday.....
