oh dear, they strike again! my new VR6 is pretty much dent free, and i try to keep it that way, nearly caught an old granny yesterday opening her door into mine in a carpark, just stood next to the door watching with arms folded, and a not very impressed look on my face, made her think again. as usual, these days people just dont give a toss about anyone else except themselves.

my M reg VR6 corrado doesnt have a guide, the dipstick just sits directly on the tube. as for the rad question i aint got a clue!

i would take the whole thing off and give it a good clean and degrease, then put it all back together. maybe put the whole assembly in a washing up bowl and liberally spray it with engine degreaser, give it a scrub with a toothbrush or similar, try to remove as much gunk as you can and leave it an hour or so, do the same again, check all the contacts are good, apply a bit of WD40 and refit. at least this way you know there is no grit/dirt stopping it pivoting/returning to its correct position. at the end of the day its covered in years and years of engine bay/road filth, which is bound to hamper its performance. my G60 assembly was the same...

and on closer inspection, there aint many panels on it (if any) that are good, front is wrecked, and the rear dont look too tasty either. doubt its even worth breaking.

i'd say you need to de-gunk everything and clean it up, there must be some muck stopping it going back to the correct position. get nvolved with loads of engine degreaser and wd40!

leave it mate. just save your money and get a reasonable one to start with. dont make the same mistake as me. (although mine wasnt thats bad) to get it p to a decent standard you will need to through more money at it than you think.

the way i sorted mine (as the way it attaches to the other under tray is a pain in the ass) is to take the oter tray out (undo the screws) then attach the two trays together then put them both back in at the same time. worked for me...

ive got a set of BBS RMs in my shed i no longer need, they will need a refurb and rebuild but you can have them for what they cost me ?? could get them colour coded with gold studs?? would look cool!

if he starts chewing through your wires and you get really p*ssed off you can always leave the airbox hose off and get him to sleep in the charger....then turn it on....! :lol:

when i crashed my first one, 3 years ago, (hit a kerb dodging a taxi, at about 40mph taking out the front wheels and flinging the shocks about 20 yards up the road) the firemen said if it was any other car i would have lost my legs, or worse) car was a mess but i was completly fine. although i did cut my ankle trying to remove it from between the gas peddle and what used to be the drivers footwell. bit scary as if the floor came up any more it would have crushed my ankle for sure! probably one of THE safest cars built around that time.

i saw a white S5 a week or 2 ago, now i would NEVER buy a white car as i dont think they show the lines very well, and they get dirty really easily! but this looked REALLY sexy, especially when the rear 'S5' badge stood out a treat, probably THE most sexy looking Audi going, except for the R8! :lol:

those are very rare! not just ebay rare either! ive got the proper corrado g60 kit, that cost me a lot a while back, over £50 anyway...

i went into my Vw garage last week to pick some exterior trim up for my G60 (roof trim, wing mirror rubbers, new headlights etc, etc) and came away with a bill for £1500. at least i know the only 'old' part of my car is the shell, and that has new paint on it!

go with silver, i think it would suit the style of your car, it would spoil it if you put anything too flashy on them....

yeah i would say rs301s weigh more than most 1 piece wheels, 34 bolts and nuts are actually quite heavy for what they are....
