  1. havent updated this for a while, so thought i'd let you know the new plan(s). IM going all the way with the corrado!! fitting a 2.016vG60 on a BBM charger with balanced and lightened EVERYTHING (within reason)!! should be in by the end of January, and depending on how obsessive i become while the cars in bits, should be back on the road for the south coast meet, ive been told the engineis pretty much complete, just needing the block painting and the head putting on etc. Ive ordered a load of bits to be ready for when the old engine is going to comeout and the new one to be put in, so hopefully it should be a completly different car to drive, in terms of speed and handling, including: -Uprated front and rear anti roll bars -Schrick sump+windage tray -Peloquin LSD -Custom made big brake kit (you will have to wait and see what these are, some may already know ) -FMIC -Aquamist water injection kit And to make it all stick to the road nicely ive also ordered 4x Toyo R888 tyres. which should help a bit, as they are practically slicks, although ive been told they arent great in the wet. Nevermind though, as in a few days i should be the proud owner of a supercharged vr6 golf, which will be my daily car so i can pamper the corrado in a nice warm garage!! :D ive also ordered a set of proper VW Corrado gauges to go in the space in the dash, below the ashtray, to keep an eye on volts and oil, as well as fitting my black leather electric recaro seats, and refitting the whole car with new speakers, cd player etc. All this means ill have a few bits left over from the old engine/car including: -g60 calipers -G60 block, with ported head, schrick cam, flowed inlet etc rebuild by Jabbasport 20,000 miles ago, with reciept to prove. -BBM aluminium boost pipes, as new condition im sure ill have some other bits too but all will be for sale within the next month or so. so all in all the project should be a good'un!! hope to see everyone at the shows this year!!
  2. i had a similar problem to this, turned out to be the ignition switch. there are a few threads on the forum about it somewhere...its quiet a common problem
  3. car has done 130000, current engine has done 20,000 soon to be replaced with brand new rebuilt spanky-shiney engine. No problems to report-except the sunroof dont work.
  4. really liking the powdercoating, just inspired me to do some while my cars in bits....
  5. cheers for that. just ordered one!
  6. each to your own, i drive around in my one everyday. what do i know.... oh and i think the gwerks site info on the BBM is pretty much copied and pated from the BBM website, thats why they say the same thing...
  7. yes a BBM charger is easy to fit, so Darren says, take the old one off and the new one fits straight in, comes with a new oil feed, as the fitting on the BBM charger is different to that of the standard unit. you wont regret buying one, dont even bother with the silencing kit, the charger is not any louder than the original unit. im well chuffed with mine, best thing ive ever got for it. and im sure £1650 will secure you one.
  8. ill rebuild your charger for a lot less than what jabba do, last about as long too!! then when it explodes you'll have a fully blended engine bay!! take it to gwerks!! p/x it and buy a BBM!!
  9. cheers for the info guys, very helpful. gonna order up a kit tomorrow morning!!
  10. £460 is fine, i was more on budget for £650!! also while this thread is still alive, where do you get the water/meth mix from?? i take it you mix it up yourself? is it a 50:50? also if a tank of the mix lasts 3 weeks+ is it worth rigging up another tank just for thewater injection? because i see most people use their windscreen washer tank? little off topic, but has anyone seen these on dubforce ?? http://www.designengineering.com/produc ... m=sc&cid=1 not of much use to most people, as they would only last a few minutes, but on some monster machines (like yours Mr. cheesewire it could work??)
  11. i would like to have some sort of control over the system, whereby i can switch it on and off at will, i.e if i was going on a long journey whereby if it was on all the time it would run out so when i would need it there wouldnt be any mixture left. but as you say i wouldnt really need it, so i must be been typing out of my a*se when i wrote that. so can anybody point me in the direction of a good supplier of these kits ?? or anyone that might do a discount ??
  12. where did you get your kit from Blue_joe?? and how much was it ? also how does it get mapped ? i'd rather get a more advanced system as i will only want to upgrade further if i got a simple one.....
  13. how well is very well?? would a aquamist kit be any better ?
  14. im gathering parts as the fitment of my new engine is fast approaching, im getting a FMIC from gwerks made up at the moment, but i also wish to run water/methanol injection, ive had a look on the website and done a search and still ont have a clue, firstly it needs to come on at full throttle, (with the ability to switch it on off at will, via a switch) and if possible also to come on at part throttle, also via a switch. any ideas ? i know a few FI VR6 people on here use the kits and may be able to help?
  15. dont know about the butterfly, but im sure gasket sealant will work for the blanking plate.
  16. my old grey G60 was a write off and they wouldnt let me buy it back, gave me 1K for it, it was perfect, (91k miles grey leather ABS etc) and it had a charger just rebuilt 400miles ago. told me i culdnt buy it back and had to be crushed etc. then i find the charger on ebay, sold for £555 emailed the seller siad he has the whole car in his garage and is breaking it in peterborough!! miles away from my Bl**dy house!! ask the insurance co. where your car is and go and get it!!! Insurance is one of the most shady things going!!

    Door strips

Take em off!!!! you will get dings on your door whether they are on there or not, eg from 4X4s, women with handbags, and just from people walking between your car and the one next to it in a car park!!
  18. wheel held up quiet well though. im ashamed to say it but i crashed my grey G60 in my sig below after a night out, was under the limit but its the only reason i can think of for crashing it (except maybe i was tired) as im quite a cautious driver. makes you think twice after you see the front footwells have folded up around your feet AND the front passengers as well. I know if i hit the kerb/wall any faster the only thing i'd be driving now is a wheelchair. MAKES YOU THINK TWICE!!
  19. well said, i defend my BBM charger all the way, ive been giving her some proper grief recently, mainly due to the fact im having a new engine in a few weeks, so thought id satisfy my urge for speed while i can, and i wish i bought one earlier, they only sound loud when you rev it past about 4k, and if you are revving it that high i think the sound from the exhaust is louder....
  20. i think they look good, go for it!!! you can always sell em again after....
  21. exactly, and if you have a detector in your car you might as well just use it and slow down for the camera then boot it again when you've gone past....!!
  22. yeah im sure if you covered it in enough heatproofing (or make some sort of shroud to go over it) then it would be fine ??
  23. ive been on both and checked prices, etyres want an extra £53 for coming and fitting a tyre!! thats for 1 205/40/17 toyo R888! £133.90 on etyres OR £80.90 on my tyres!!!
