  1. i thought they were audi a8 monoblocks ? correct me if im wrong, havent bought the mag in a while....
  2. try the sns one, thats what ive got, looks really nice and sits low too so doesnt feel like you are rowing a boat when you change gear!
  3. you need to find yourself a local garge you can trust, they in turn also know good specialists who you can take the work to...... but you are correct, there are a lot of rip off merchants out there.
  4. yup, change the tappets. an oil isnt going to solve the problem, how can it ? its only an additive, its not exactly going to rebuild a tappet!! good if it did tho...
  5. ooohhhh, if i knew that was your reg number before, i would have warned you to be careful!!! i wrote my last g60 off (grey one below) and the reg on that was J*** RPF. everyone else be warned!! the only memento i got from that car was the g60 grille badge which was sitting at my feet as i sat on the kerb crying!! (which incidentally is now on my new G60....) good to see you can smile about it tho, i was really hacked off for weeks!!
  6. not really, they are all going to charge a fair bit in comparison to what i paid, maybe you should look out for pepole breaking g60's, but even then you dont know when the bearings are going to give up again, so might be worth just biting the bullet and getting one on exchange from vw, plus it will come with a warranty.
  7. my missus dad is a mechanic, and he sends any alternators that need replacing to his brother who works in midhurst, west sussex. i get most things done for cost price/labour free on my car. he's amazed me by how much he's going to get the guy to build my 2.016vg60 for!! its about half what the usual going rate is!! im a lucky get!!
  8. might be interested too, otherwise im going to get my current seats trimmed....
  9. why wouldnt you want to sell the car if you have shelled out a load of money on it ?? i came to my senses a while ago and realised the corrado was a money pit. ive spent a ridiculous amount of money on my car, for which i could have gone and bought a nice low milage full spec Mk4 Golf 4motion down at my local garage!! you can plow £50k into a corrado if you want, at the end of the day its still an old car!
  10. im going to be selling a few bits on mine in the near future, when i stat my 16vG60 conversion, so will have things like inlet manifold, cylinder head, BBM aluminium pipes etc for sale, just incase you might want some bits....
  11. maybe you should check any adjoining panels for signs of a shunt, as i said before, my early headlamps were never that far from the bodywork....
  12. paid about £30 to have mine fully rebuilt, everything replaced, and painted up nicely etc, depends who you know!!
  13. ok heres one for you, my heater blows hot and cold air as it should, but it doesnt exactly blow it with any power, its about as powerful as Farting through the vents, ive taken the fan unit out and checked it over, and operates on all 4 speeds so thats fine....could it be a blockage somewhere ??
  14. sure there isnt something more sinister going on there ?? i had late bodywork and early lights in mine, up until a week or two ago and were never that bad fitting.....
  15. this only equates to a small % of the people who are running them, most people seem to buy them and have no issues at all, so ok maybe i was a bit hasty in saying indestructable, but in my view they are more reliable and give better results (even in standard form) than a G Lader would with everything done on it.... plus they dont need rebuilding every 20k!
  16. think they only seize up when running silly sized pulleys....im running the stanard pulley on mine and its still on 1 bar boost...same as when i was running a 65mm toothed pulley. oh and they are not loud at all, no louder than a G60 charger in my opinion, just sounds different.
  17. fit a BBM charger, more power and they are bullet proof, dont need to be serviced sounds good, (i.e not too loud) and are cheap considering a rebuild is going to cost you nearly £400 every two years or so..
  18. If you want a job done...do it yourself!! Women!! dont know one end of a paintbrush to the other!!! by the way, nice driveway Riley, thats a close call between the bottom of your car and the road!! ive grinded a section of my front splitter off where it hits on the rad each time i come out of my driveway!!
  19. yeah stanard is best, i paid a lot of money to rectify a job that the previous owner of my one had made, he stuck some Rieger bumpers on it, two weeks later i bought it and wanted em off!! cost me about £500!!!
  20. very flash Phil, so were you in the garden doing the decking while your missus was doing the stairs ??? :D
  21. if you are selling them, due to the fact you want to do a nice chap like me a favour... ill buy them!!! for a good price too....
  22. thats nothing, i can hit the brakes and get my head to push the horn!!! (should wear a seatbelt i suppose!!)
  23. hmmm dont think they will polish up to be honest, they have a textured finished, where they are powdercoated...
