  1. Oh is that why it's falling out? I thought it was because of my wife and two young children. :D
  2. Anybody had or know of any horror stories with these crucial engine parts from GSF?
  3. Just bananas! I wonder what happens when a stone goes into that duct? bye bye turbo! Check the vids on this page http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/94399 ... -r-19.html What the hell are they measuring the torque in to get 1500 on the RRoad? EDIT: Oh it's making 2600Nm that'll be about 1900ft/lb.
  4. Ok a few questions for you out of curiosity. Which bonnet do you have early or late bulge type? Standard inlet manifold that runs over the rocker cover? What exhaust did you use and how close to the underside of the car is it? Not challenging you here just curious. :) Oh and er welcome to the forum. :salute:
  5. Diesel CTN Gearbox was my best unlivable Mod. :) Traction and economy to tame 200lb/ft. :luvlove:
  6. Emerald has this function as well so you can get better low end fueling and a good smooth Idle. Amazing stuff!
  7. I'm interested but I won't pay up front. So stick me down on your list as my car is close to getting an advisory on the beam brightness at the next MOT. I'd want a loom that would do each headlight and each beam on individual relays so as to be safe and also be plug and play. Many Thanks. :salute: edit: the above looks a bit aggressive sorry it's not meant to read like that. Well I got my loom from KUR2Y about three weeks ago and got round to fitting it last week. Only been out once to check the improved brightness and there is a definite improvement. But be advised if you leave your lights on your battery will be complete flat in less than 4 hours! So carry some jump leads with the spare wheel. :bonk: Believe me you won't push start a Corrado G60 even with another's help unless your a strong man, even on an incline! Anyway the looms are of great quality and come with instructions. I bolted the earth wire to the chassis earth of the battery tray directly behind the battery as it in brand new (and the keen eyed may notice only in zinc primer at the moment) and has a thick braided earth cable going to the battery earth terminal which allowed the relays to be mounted to the front of the battery using tesco velcro tape. :) Here's some pictures. Thanks Again Zak.
  8. Hmmm! Maybe I won't bother then. Maybe a stupid question but was it mounted to suck air through the cooler?
  9. Interesting what you say about the fan on your oilcooler! Did you fit it to the front or the back? The oil cooler I have is new but from and audi 80 diesel, the great thing is it fit's perfectly into the old G60 intercooler ducting and I've mounted it in that location so a fan at the rear that sucks air through it should be ok! As the air pressure differential between the front and the rear of the cooler at that location should be enough to turn the fan during driving I hope. I'll fit it before I fit the new engine and see what happens. The audi 80 diesel had fan assisted oil cooling in a similar location. EDIT big golf g60 rad part no. b 191 121 253 AL ebay contact for this as VW no longer have stock is felgenhaus_co_uk.
  10. I'll be fitting a larger capacity engine in the near future and I noticed you have a golf front mount intercooler. I too have a FMIC from a golf G60 and I've bought a new larger radiator that is also from a Golf G60 I can get you the part numbers and dig out the ebay sellers name if you want. It might be running hotter just because there is more friction a the moment due to bedding in of the engine. I'm also thinking of fitting a fan to the oil cooler I have for hot days in motorway queues that would blow with the rad fan for simplicity. :)
  11. Thought you guys might might be interested in this, which I found in the kitchen last week!

    G60 Red injectors

Well on the dyno 206bhp was the limit for me with greens. I ran a PSD SNS chip written for a g60 running a 65mm I later changed to a FMIC and tubular exhaust but 206bhp at around 5800rpm was the limit on standard injectors. If you want the chip let me know I paid £110 but you can have it for £50 as I no longer need it. Here's the graph you can see the power drop off........
  13. I always thought it was from the ecu although a lot of older cars do take it from the coil.
  14. My innovate wideband kit turned up today so looks like I might be having a geeky weekend in the sun hopefully, which is not as sad as I'll be outdoors looking at something other than a computer screen or it's insides. :salute: Oh it's not a bad book a bit thin and it introduces Emerald ECU's in the last section with a free demo CD. I'm hopefully going Emerald on the new engine, eventually.
  15. OK, "The signal from this sensor is passed to the engine's ECU so that the relevant stoichiometric mixture ratio can be maintained. In reality, the mixture isn't held at one precise ratio, rather it swings from rich to lean across the sensor operating range to give an average mixture which is correct for the catalyst. This operating system is called 'closed loop' because it is a continuous cycle of correction and feed back. The emissions are not controlled by the closed-loop system all the time. Because we need different mixture ratios for cold starting, acceleration and full power, the closed loop system only really operates under idle and light cruise conditions. This point has not been made to the wider public, because it might call into question the effectiveness of the catalytic converter - not what politicians and motor manufactures want at all!" I'm officially sad for typing all of that! Haynes - High performance tuning series Engine Management Dave Walker On amazon for about £15.
  16. You need to get out more! EDIT: I read they aren't effective at all revs in a book about engine management. I'll dig it out and recheck. I also need to get out more as do a lot of people on here.
  17. Good research info there :notworthy: This was my thinking actually just switch maps as you pull into the MOT station. :D Sneaky! I like Sneaky. Did you know that a CAT can only do the job of emissions control at idle and low part throttle! Useful hey!
  18. sounds like the cats not working , unless you can get the co .3% or below the answer has to be no dare i say althou i have seen cars go through a cat test without one. My car is a j reg so doesn't need a CAT so i'm in the clear, just curious if it's possible to get the co% at idle below 0.3 without a CAT. Maybe a megaSquirt or Emerald ECU could achieve this!
  19. My radio is remote control. :( God I miss that manual tuning :D :D :D What came first though nipple tuning or radio tuning? Where was the technique mastered or maybe it even influence the design of the original radio. This guy even looks a little embarrassed. And I would say his technique is poor. :norty:
  20. the analyzers do have the info/details for cars 92 up to 95 (with lasts years update) and its the emission data book number 13 as of august 2007. hi i have some humble pie to get  my emissions machine is pc based and has a software glitch not alowing me to access the details for cars although the relevant updates have been installed so my 92> 1/8/95 info is misleading so please ignore it to the point , if your details are available the test will be a 0.3% co , they still stand at 3.5% if your details are not in the machine a few cars are not but the corrado is , so i am know looking like a ratty plum and the suppliers of my less than 12mnths old analyzer have had the brunt of my anger so apologies to all for my inaccuracy if anyone knows where i can get some humble pie , and if its available in various flavours would be much appreciated cheers  I applaud you for being so forthright. So the question is, is it possible to get a K reg G60 through an emissions test at 0.3% without a CAT! 200ppm should be easy for a G60, mine did 33ppm without a CAT. :) But the CO% was 0.569%. Before CAT removal I got .515 and 25ppm at the same test station at the same time of year on the same equipment. So the CAT was effectively doing nothing that was measurable.
  21. A white one! With drugs in the back! The relevance of the breast fondling was a back seat passenger, of the female variety, decided it would be fun to fondle her breasts while being filmed by the front passenger in a convertable :norty: causing a rear end shunt to passing cars. Only in America hey! Type of fondling? Looked to be like a prime candidate for the radio tuning type of fondling!
  22. Cheers. And what about the sidelight thing, must all cars have sidelights? if you remove the switches and cover the lights so they dont work you need nothing not even brake lights, you can take your windscreen out to then you dont need wipers or washers it might not be legal but it will pass a test Are you an MOT lawyer? :D
