i remember a forum member fitting the mk4 setup to the rado but it shifted the wheel backwards. Seemed to work but didnt look right. Kev, I'll give them a ping too, maybe we can kick this off as a group buy. Im sure there would be plenty of non corrado, vr6 users wanting to sort out their suspension properly. Dark Rider, not sure if Ive understood your suggest correctly but shortening the wishbones wouldnt resolve the issue, just helps with camber. If the mount where the ball joint attatches to the hub was to be cut and extented down, that would do the job but not a very neat nor a safety option.

Jim, I'm running quite low but hopefully I can raise it up again if the coil overs dont cause me too much grief. What is (as GTI.Si asks) the minimum ride height and where should it be measured from (sump, wishbones, subframe ...)? Is it possible to turn up on the day and pay up if necessary as I'll be double booked that day so cant be a certain participant.
-
G60 CS, I'm interested in these parts. Could you send me more details, thanks
-
not quite dark.ryder, when you lower cars you affect the geometry and hence why people use ball joint extenders (check out google), unfortunately the vr6 cant accommodate the same part so another option is to change the position of the spindle (or bearing housing in the vr6 setup) so it drops the car height but returns the wishbone, track rods etc back to where they should be. hope that makes sense, if not there are other threads about suspension geometry discussing this issue.
-
Are there any suppliers/manufacturers that make dropped spindles for the vr6 hubs? I've seen them for other vehicles inc the air cooled beetles. If not, Ive heard that there may be a company that could make them to spec if the volumes are good enough. anyone know who this could be?

I need the edge around the windscreen, mostly from the top part probably 150mm from the edge to make sure I've got enough material to play with. ideally would want the complete length Not too fussed if it needs to be cut in half for packaging. If one you can get back to me with a quote I'll get some pictures and dimensions up.

'cus I'm not really wanting to sell but if a good price is offered I would be tempted. Steve, will check what bits are in the box. But this may be a while as its at the back of the garage.

How much you willing to pay?

It was down when I was trying to get taxed at the beginning of the month, I just went into the PO and sorted it over the desk. Worked out better as was chatted up by the gal behind the window, win!

i do quite like the wrap around front lights. not sure what they are from but them and the joint between the bumpers/wings looks to have been done pretty well.

would you be cutting bits off? if so I would want part of the windscreen edge to replace my rotten part. Ill send more details if you can help out. -
Wishbones should be OK but worth checking, typically the rear wishbones bush tends to go first. Most upgrade to the r32/audi 3.2 version as they are a solid rubber bush (plenty of threads on this upgrade). I have a brand new standard vw bush (non r32) if you do end up needing a replacement and dont wish to go for the upgraded version. Either way, hopefully Monday can give you an idea for the cause of you issues.

if only there was a "like" button on these pages!
-
if you have the necessary tools then maybe, otherwise leave it to the garage as they will have a huge press to take the old bush('s) out and put the new ones in. Would be cheaper if you can hand them the wishbones if they do need doing. mark everything up, you may need to repeat the tracking afterwards
-
i had shudder while under braking and that turned out to be due to the wishbone bush having gone. Sounds like this could be your issue. I doubt camber would be the main cause for you issue but could be a contributor. so possibly in order of likelyhood.. bushes track rods and rod ends bump steer

^^hmm good thinking ^^ could be, just not sure why its where Andy said he found it

Well, I am considering the wiring via standard ECU but I could be routed to something else. I actually didnt consider any other control systems as they firstly scare me and secondly I didnt realise they offerd ESP (tc I knew of). Looking forward to seeing this one get to the "running first" stage, then will be excited to see where else it goes (obv for biased reasons so I can learn by your mistakes *cough*, sorry I meant experimentations ;-))
-
it doesnt sound like a standard part. Could be almost anything, but if you really want to find out then follow the wires back to the source. My guesse is its a very basic immob' switch.
-
one option is to raise it back up to standard ride height and go for a drive, if the issue persists at least you know it isnt to do with ride height causing your problems (just make sure you lower it back to the same height after otherwise you will need to repeat the tracking).
-
Yeah I'm not far from him, may take you up on the offer if I get really stuck. I ask as I plan to have ESP and TC fitted to mine so I reckon I'll need to pretty compitent at reading diagrams. I'm happy to learn and have the time/space to do it, it's just a case on where to start lol. More recently Iv'e started to do the wiring properly, for example I made myself a complete new loom for the recaros including the vw connectors, in the past I would have used cheap crimps like you mentioned. Doing it right made it much more rewarding, even if its never seen once installed. Will have to catch up at some point, maybe at a Corrado meet, if you ever go to them?

Hi Sam Why arent you continuing with you original thread otherwise people will just end up repeating the same suggestions etc. For example, I have no real understanding on when this pulling happens to you, is it under acc, brake or normal driving. You may have already covered these basic things in the original post. FYI, mine is low on 17", and I dont have issues of pulling unless i hit lines on the road and it tends to tramline. So for you to have an issue that sounds dangerous would point out to be something more that "its cus its slammed". Tracking wont sort out the camber unless you specify. I would get it up on the ramps, check all rod ends, bushes front/rear. Get camber checked/adjusted. Look for any wishbone or subframe damage too.
