  1. Well, Ive just checked the loom I have and the corresponding loom will be 535971382F. Will think about the next step once I get some pic's from C488ADO, but more than likely will get the early loom and adapt it. That is unless someone makes these cheaper or one turns up on ebay.
  2. Just got a quote 535971382C - £28.08 535971382F - £221.24!! I can check the part number of the plug that attatches to the seat, this will dictate if I have a early or late loom. If I have a late loom, it should end up cheaper if I buy the early loom and change the plug that connects to the seat loom to 357907968A. Only worry is if the wires are routed differently :pale:
  3. thats another problem, just bought a switch because that wasnt included either. I think the replacement switch is a late one but thats not going to help me figure out if I have an early or late seat half of the loom. I can get a picture up tomorrow of the loom I have if that helps
  4. Just got myself a pair of heated seats and was told that the loom which was included was the full piece. But after looking at vag cat it appears I only have the seat side of the loom but not the switch side. Which part number I need to ask at VW as there appears to be two part numbers depending on chassis number. What Ive found is either : 535971382C 535971382F Which one is it?? From what I can tell the only difference is the plug? if so why does vag cat say the prices are so different (almost 100 euros different!)? Does anyone make these incase VW is too expensive or not available?
  5. I recently had some intermittent light issues, I would be driving down the road in the dark when all of a sudden the high beams would come on without any way of turning them off. Bumps seemed to sort it though. So lifted the bonnet (once parked up  ) and on checking the relays for the headlamps the beams seemed to come on and off if shook. After taking the relays apart and found one was like this For a short time I has the relays sitting upside down and open to splashing, so I figured water had entered the relay and over time caused the above damage and stopped the spring from doing its job so any bumps or knocks allowed for the high beams to come on! So word of warning, make sure if you have an uprated loom that your relays are adequately protected from the elements.
  6. Yeah got them off someone on the forum. They are in good condition but I want them perfect so plan to refurb the lot next summer.
  7. Picked these up on Thursday. Need a good clean and refurb but happy with the way they make the car look. I like the contrast of beige and black.
  8. weak attempt...changed the gearbox on mine in hail and sleet drive :cuckoo: Glad Im not the only foolish person on here. lol
  9. tough one, I personally don't think there is anything wrong in buying something cheap and selling at profit. If someone wants it they'll pay the asking price. However when someone haggles you right down so you end up loosing money only to find them make plenty from it then that would p :censored: ss me off. just my 1p worth
  10. I carried out the 16v to VR6 conversion. It can be done but lots of work. Lots of engine out there becoming cheap but also getting quite tired. Stick with what you've got or maybe do a 9a swap? If you want VR then buy the complete car, esp if you're not capable if doing the swap your self.
  11. Sounds like a plan ;) (Oh im a bugger for inviting myself) ;) I should be there guys, been a rough few weeks/months so could do with a pint.
  12. £1300 for a refurbed head! :cuckoo: maybe for a gas flowed and blue printed one but to rebuild a 16v head wouldnt cost more than £200-£300 surely?! Get a second quote on the head rebuild and fitting.
  13. Things havent been going to plan. Had to give up the search for the Audi 'cus the house sale fell through. Turned out that the seller didnt have the necessary planning permission for the work he had carried out!! :censored: So the missus and me are back to square one, well worse off with the solicitors fees, morgage fees and survey assesment !! So, have been looking at a few houses in the meantime but none seem to be as good as the one we almost got, in fact I got beached at a track road of one of the properties I went to see I darent look under the car but I heard some nasty scrapes nocks etc. Good to know that I can get pretty good off road action in a v low corrado  will post some pictures soon. Fingers crossed we may have found a potential house but is further away from my work and needs some extra tlc, will only go for it after christmas me thinks. Off for a second viewing this week. Car wise, the rado is pretty neglected with all the off road action its been having to do. Not done anything to it (which is a good sign tbh) but I desperately want to sort the suspension and exhaust out for better performing ones.
  14. early model corrado's had a smaller fuel tank, cant remember the actual volume maybe 12gallons?? but can be easily seen by looking at the rear boot. If the carpet has a very deep recess for the spare tyre then more than likely its the smaller volume. later cars use a lager volume but I think the same fuel pump setup ie one in tank and one under the bodywork this again can be told by looking at the boot and the recess will be less obvious plus these are 15gallon tanks. The vr6 is an exception, it has the larger fule tank, different fuel pump arrangement with in tank pump only but alway came with the larger volume of 15gallons. I think this is what your wanting to fit....will it fit....no idea. even if it physically fitted there seems to be some differences with the fuel line arrangement. Why you wanting to change the fuel pump setup?
  15. I decided to cancel the sale considering the amount of horror stories Ive read about reliability! shame really 'cus the car was lovely. Thanks for the feedback anyway
  16. Hi Looking to buy a second car and Ive foundan audi 04 A4 2.5 tdi which comes in CVT format. Ive read allot of horror stories about these gearboxes, so what does everyone think or does anyone have some real experience with them? BTW the audi has galactic mileage too
  17. laughed my head off from the link above....
  18. nice find, I have most of that info already but will be useful to those who dont.
  19. I tried it out in my lights a while back but wasnt sure and took them out again. May refit them but reduce the space between each LED first.
  20. At a guesse, you may loose a bit of engine power due to having to run it. Cant think of anything bad as the alternator will not over charge the system.
  21. would be interested in FG or CF wings, full carbon fibre bonnet and cf or fg boot. Not fussed about the spoiler as I think this is already pretty light. let us know rough prices and maybe we can firm numbers of those interested, ta
  22. Ignoring all the technical aspects and looked at very simply Based on the r32 being 250bhp and the vr being 190bhp, thats a difference of roughly 31%. So if I used to get 30mpg in the vr then that should calculate to about 22mpg. I get an average 25mpg (as calculated on my very useful android app "acar"), R32 = 78.125 bhp/engine capacity (l) , 10 bhp/mpg VR = 65.5 bhp/engine capacity (l), 6.33 bhp/mpg
  23. just read through the whole thread... :notworthy: am planning on doing something similar in the near future. Any chance you still have the rotisserie dimensions etc?
  24. i dont think ive had the cv joint in the housing when ive taken the ball joints out. maybe someone on here will come along and tell you how to do it with the cv joint in situ. Otherwise, undo the cv, remove the three bolts that secure the wishbone to the ball joint. swing the bearing housing out of the way and see if that gives you enough access. if you still struggle, apply a little local heat while compressing the ball joint abd it will let go even if you have to tap it a couple of times
