not sure. well i have someone whos selling a late surround and it has one hole so hopefully that will help matters
-
ah, the one i need has one hole, just for the lights, due to the switch being built in them too
-
i have managed to sort out all the wiring for windows, mirrors, heater controls and later sunroof motor. so i will post details asap. Ive also done the later swithes which where damn easy due to the coulours maching on both later and early models. even easier fitting the headlamp switch due to the plug being the same on both.
-
well mines not tight, it impossible. I just hope the later surrounds are deeper or more angled. Does yours have two appatures? or just the one?
-
I hope your wrong about this, otherwise there's no way i can have interior lighting as well as the later style motor on the sunroof
-
will give this a go very soon
-
if you do that would be cool because at the moment i have no interior lights and the sunroof switch is just hanging
-
any body got a late one then that they dont need?
-
Are there any differences with late and early versions of the trim that goes around the sunroof switch and light? I know the later one has the sunroof switch integrated within the light and so one less hole. I ask becasue i have a late motor in my car now and i cant put the lights back in so im guessing that the later trims are deeper? Does anyone have a late one? I need one Thank
-
thats excellent mate. cheers
-
Got a complete sunroof onyl problem is that the wiring is for different looms, should i change motors across, or rewire? I have to drill out the screws cus they are stuck in and rounded off. if i should rewire does anybody know what the wiring would be?
-
the corrado and golf just need either a full respray or pacth ups. so no good me swapping parts. I think ill keep the rado and carry on trying to sell the golf
-
did think thats what it sounded like, but no im seriousely unsure which to keep the golfs had more money and things done to it do get as it is. but the corrado is still fresh so i wouldnt loose out as much money if i sold the rado instead. I slept on it last night, im still leaning towards keeping the rado due to the fact its a much more unusual car, and it has a cool spoiler
-
Ok most of you guys will say keep the rado but would like for you guys to try and give me your unbiased opinions I have a 1989 Mk2 golf 16v which needs a respray but is otherwise a very nice car (in my eyes), more info at http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... highlight= I also have a 1992 corrado 2ltr 16v, late spec and with most of the details are on my signature but which also needs a respray. Which should i keep. rather keep both.
-
if you could that would be great. i bought new cus i reckon they'll last longer and will move freely. second hand ones are a bit of a gamble if you have trouble, theres a few mk3's at my local scrappy. if you need ill get them for you. no extra charge just the cost of buying them from the place and p&p. and when i go down next
-
well i have half done the conversion, using new bowden cables. roughly £10 each. only thing i got left is the wiring. thats one of many things on my list
-
thinking more about this, i reckon if your going to change the engine, go for something a little different than a VR
-
im tempted to change to vr6 setup. plenty of people seem to be selling them. as far as i know you'll need subframe engine loom ecu gearbox hubs suspension exhaust brakes all from a vr6, be it golf or corrado not sure but i think you can use original clocks and fuse box from your rado. i think anyway, might depend on your year if you find out anymore info about this it will be most usefull for me too

Early Brown--------------Late Brown and Yellow (3) Early Blue---------------Late Brown (8 ) Early White--------------Late Brown & Black (1) Early Black--------------Late Black and Yellow (5) Early Blue & Red---------Late Grey & Green (2) Early Yellow & Black-----Late Red & Black (7) and White & Black (6) i know this gives you the conversion details for early/late wiring but you may be able to use it somehow? sorry couldnt help more
-
this may sound like a silly question, but are you sure your corrado has ABS? some didnt come with it. Yours should according to the year but you never know. I cant see someone would remove the loom really.
-
Im just about to change my sunroof but before i start i want to make sure i have the right bolt remover. does anyone know what size bolts they are? also just to check if they are hex type?
-
Cheers, their not the ones but help me.
-
yes, but cant find the one i found originally. it showed step by step with pics
-
Not sure if this is external or interior, ive also searched for info but cant get any. I remember finding a post showing how to fit a moonroof to corrado it included pics. anyone remember or know where i can get this info? thanks
-
i just need a picture of the wires goin into the connectors so i can make my own looms. thanks
