  1. like i said mine had a similar problem i checked the timimg, resealed some joins and also changed the lambda probe. cars fine now, hope this helps
  2. I found the WIKI on the converting early wiring to late spec for the mirrors, but i need help with the windows and dash heater wiring. Can i get the plugs from VW and if so will they come with the correct coloured wires? If not can someone help me with getting these plugs and wires
  3. im after some parts can i pm you a list of what i need?
  4. not really i want a low aggressive look. dont like seeing gaps between the arch and wheel. the kit is good though as it hendles really well now
  5. thats my problem, i want it lower at the front. check the post out
  6. heres the pic. what do you guys reckon? as far as i can see without jacking the car up the spring cup is on the 3rd from the bottom recess. not sure how many recesses there are.
  7. right got the cables fitted, doesnt seem right but does for now. anyone know the electrical wiring to the plug?
  8. i used a deep socket too when rebuilding my cylinder head. If you have a gasket kit dont forget to put the cover on the end of the valve when placing them back into the head. it helps protect the seals.

    HELP!!

Nice ride. Check your timing, and temp sensors as these can sometimes cause your problem. and welcome
  10. like i said before this kit is really for a g60, but shouldn't this be causing the difference in ride height right? will post pics asap
  11. Cheers guys my prob was a simple as a blown bulb. So ive put in a blue led for now. looks kinda cool. Anybody need an early ABS light, with blue LED :)? Ill be changing mine to late version soon so old one will no longer be needed Hi Purgatori, where abouts in Cardiff are you? And welcome
  12. hmm hopefully its that, will look at it now
  13. ok braking was heavy due to the new brakes beding in. ABS works as i tested it the other day. and engine now works fine finally! but the abs light still doesnt come on. what can cause this? fuse maybe? do the bulbs ever go?
  14. damn they are yellow, might have to follow this up on ebay then.
  15. helps a little but doesnt help with the electrical wiring
  16. ok, took it to the garage on Saturday and they adjusted the ignition timing and they said it seems way out, he said about 20 degrees, but to me it looks more 10-15 is this a bad thing? car runs fine. all tdc marks are still ligning up too.
  17. erm... that doesnt help. i need to find out which bowden cable goes to which flap and control and i need to know what electrical wires go to which plug
  18. koni dampers with eibach springs, they are off a g60 but i thought these where the same spec? not sure where rears are will check later
  19. Ive got all the parts needed to convert my cars early style heater controls to later dial type. only thing is now is which bowden cable goes to which control toggle, both on the dials and on the air distributer fan. also what is the electrical wiring for the control? my old plug wont fit into the new socket so need to rewire it. pictures would be most helpfull thanks
  20. so do you recon that the fronts will bed in and lower, or that the guy is ripping me off?
  21. I bought some dampers and springs off ebay and they are supposed to lower the car 60 to 70mm all round but the front doesnt seem any lower, but the rears seem much lower. talked to someone and he said that the fronts can be adjusted to make them lower is that true. is this true? or do i need to drive the car for a while to let them bed in? all i can see on the fronts is the adjusting knob for firmness. the rears have firmness adjusters and have recesses in the dampers to adjust height.
  22. heads have different internals. think once they've been gas flowed theres not much difference though. anybody have proper information on this mod? also which is best timing setup? 6 BTDC or 9 BTDC
  23. well i need to get the ignition timing set right before i can say about how the car behaves. does seem different. will let you know tomorow hopefully. I have kr cams and larger inlet manifold so should see a difference. saysomestuff, said that if i put a kr head on my car this will also change performance. if so how will it? if its worth it i may do it as my head is 148k miles old, and i have a spare kr head lying around ready for rebuilding. thanks again lads
  24. Finally got it sorted and did it without the mechanics help. not 100% sure how i fixed it but what i did is start right from the beggining and removed the whole inlet manifold and checked everything out while applying gasket seal paste. all marks where at tdc so i put it all together again and started her up. and wahoo she ran well. id like to thank everytone who helped me with it, wouldnt have cariied on trying if it wasnt for you guys. in fact i reckon its my lucky day because i even started my vw golf 16v which i changed the head on recently and it runs like a peach. all the hard work shows.
