1.8 16v Golf/Corrado exhaust can be fitted to a 2.0 16v
quicky1980 replied to quicky1980's topic in Exterior
yes golf system is a hook type and my corrado is a bar style setup, was told a few times it wasnt possible even by venom motorsport themselves said so. Was a little worried about the lengths being different but when compared old to the new they seemed identical, except standard vag exhaust having larger silencers and weigh a hell of alot more. Cant see any probs fitting golf exhaust to an early corrado, but please check before you go ahead and rip old exhaust off. -
i had a g60 setup from my last car (golf mk2 gti 16v). all you actually need is the g60 carriers and discs. You should use G60 callipers and pads but there arent any problems if you dont you just loose a little extra brake pad depth. hope that helps pm me if you need more info

Ive asked about this before but no one could tell me if my stainless steel exhaust which was off a golf 1.8 mk2 16v would fit my 2.0 16v corrado so decided to try it out. The answer is yes it fits, needs the mounts on the car to be either modified or new ones made but seems a straight fit otherwise. Saved me a few quid on buying a new system hope this helps anyone in the same situation

Think i found out the reason My drivers door is VAG glass and has a guide glued onto the the glass itself The door glass that bangs is non vag and is missing this guide which i assume helps to stop the banging. Will put a guide on there as soo as i know which adhesive to use
-
When my window is down and i close the door i hear a bang so i had a quick look inside the door and noticed that the window was hitting the doors reinforcment bar. should there be something to stop this happening?

I cant remember if i stated windows out respray but ill make sure. I have seen this guys work before, also he's got a good reputation according to people ive talked to. Im stripping as much stuff as i can off the car (cant do windows) also hes letting me wed sand so maybe this may lower the costs Im a little worried about the rear arches, both seem damaged and one is much worse than the other. Will it be easy for him to sort? ie parts etc?
-
Ok, my rado is in for a full respray in same colour, anything I should do/know before it goes in? What can i do to help lower the cost of the job? Im keeping it all subtle and fingures crossed itll be done by the end of sept, fingures crossed. Im also able to give the guy a little help which is cool of him. soon ill do a members car post

Can someone tell me the part for the above number? thnks

how do you adjust the cables correctly?
-
Henny, what software you going to use? think i might use road runner. Im in the middle of doing this with my car, got the hardware except for the power adapter but as soon as i get that the unit will be in the car. im blending the screen into the dash.

loving this project, keep us posted. Might even folow suit in the future -
ok, so if it turns out i cant, you guys reckon a bonnet will fit in the car? as well as a side door? obv the seats removed
-
just need to drive somewhere so i can have a new bonnet fitted. but can i drive there with no bonnet? im guessing its not going to be legal
-
as far as i know you need the compressor (with attacthments), all piping. the controls, the air direction box. Why you using seat toledo parts? are they basically the same as rados? wouldnt have thought it would be that hard once the corect parts are found. Im interested in doing this to my car so look forward to seeing if you manage it
-
havent got any, just replaced them with leds linked to the alarm
-
is the splash guard loose? if not look under the wheel arch without jacking up, so you can see if anything looks like its hitting something.
-
yes it is possible to fit a vr6 hub into the valvers hub carriers, this is what im going to be doing. i was only asking 5 to 4 stud adapters because i have 4 stud wheels and thought this would save the hassle of swapping hubs.

the brace is no good, so give it to me

your thinking of the jag -
i asked this a while back but never got a definate yes. they will fit but how they perform is unkown, the rado does weigh a bit more than a golf so it may not be suited to the damping rate.
-
cant rememebr who it was but they removed the side repeators, and when it came to mot time he selotapes ones onto the body because the mot guy is just wanting to see working indicators not how they are attatched.

look what i got from the scrap yard !
quicky1980 replied to CorradoVR6-Turbo's topic in General Car Chat
i managed to get the same parts for £10 from a scrappy, but the monkey broke a dial slightly. still a baragin imo i go up there to check if they have more lol -
