  1. don't forget that to re-map ANY system you put onto this car is gonna cost you over £300... and that's without any parts... :|
  2. After reading that, My first thought was to wonder if you've got a dead ignition switch... :| There's a "How To" guide on how to fit it on this site in the knowledge base, and for the £20 and 3/4 of an hour it'll cost you, at least it'll eliminate a known weak point from your possible list of causes...
  3. yeah, Riley, I'm thinking the same about the black ones being a bit too dark on a pearl grey C... Well, I'll try 'em and see what I think, if I don't like 'em with either the Grey of my new one or the Blue of J-DUB, I'll sell 'em on and wait until the next group buy and get some more M3 styleeee ones... 8)

dead fuse... (or dead indicator switch) do they work when you turn on the hazzard switch?

    A Thousand Curses

if it's damaged a tappet, and the camshaft you WILL need at least one new valve... :| Make sure they use a NEW cambelt tensioner when they do the belt...
  6. yup, with Slot here... the main fuel feed and fuel return lines are rubber when they get to the engine (so that they can flex).... These rot with age and crack. The clips that hold them also de-tension with age so they don't hold the rubber pipe on at the ends as tightly as they should anymore allowing fuel to leak past the joint... Replace the rubber fuel hoses in your engine bay and use jubilee clips at each end and your fuel leaks should go... 8)
  7. Good to hear you've got this one sorted out! Bet she's fun with 219BHP! 8)
  8. yeah, they're from Budapest, Hungary! :| BUT, they're sold at Maplins and quite a few reasonable audio suppliers worldwide are now getting them in, so they can't be all that bad... 8) From what I've seen of it so far, the build quality is excellent, just a shame that Maplins forgot to supply the HDD caddy/player with the head unit... Picking that bit up on the way home tonight though along with some appologies! ;) 8)
  9. nah mate, I'm only responsible for making sure that my stations (in the north west) stay on air... 8)
  10. the specs all look good, and it's got a DSP built into it... oh, and it's got more customisable bits than I've managed to get my head around, and I build and maintain Radio stations for a living! :| 8)
  11. Just got it for £250 and then £70 for an 80Gb HDD... Should be good for about 55days of music before I hear the same track again! 8) Oh, and the cartridge is about the size of an Ipod and will playback its audio if you hook it up to power! 8)
  12. Anyone ever used one of these? I've just bought one and am waiting for my new 80Gb HDD to arrive (tomorrow night) so I can test it out... It all looks good anyway! just wondered if any of you lot have any experience of 'em... 8) Details HERE
  13. where can I get one?!? 8)
  14. have a chat with Kevheywire... he's running the standard blades on the Lupo arms which looks stock, but gives the good wipers that using the lupo setup gives... 8)

    Illuminated Sills

think these work like the illuminated emergency exit signs... The writing is etched into the clear material and then there's a light at the ends of the clear bits which make the clear stuff act as a light guide. When the light hits the etching it can't get through so it shows up on the lettering.. No idea how effective these'd be, and they do have the potential to look really naff and tacky... I'd have to see some in the flesh before I lobbed any money anywhere near 'em... :|
  16. you remember I told you I knew this car from around Macclesfield? Well, Mr Murgatroyd was my orthodontist! Think that's just filled in that link for me! 8)
  17. G-Werks isn't a million miles away from where you are... and it's well worth a trip over to see Darren... 8) Alternatively, JMR is pretty much the same distance away (almost the same town!) and John's bloody good with G60s too... 8) *edit* damn, beaten too it, but you see that these are the two who'll be (rightly) getting all the reccomendations! 8)
  18. yes, you can, that's how I did my moonroof conversion. You can get the lining out in about 30mins if you know what you're doing... Be careful though, 'cos it is quite fragile... :|

    fade-out cabin light

fla, yup, they sell the lights on/off fader and headlights on buzzer kits... 8)
  20. fla, EL sheet = electro luminescent sheet. It's a sheet of material which glows when you pass a current across it (normally an AC voltage, hence the need for an invertor) The advantage is that it gives off a completely uniform light output.
  21. yup, I only offered my smoked lights IF the clear tops were available... I didn't know that Riley had already put his name down on 'em... Tempest, yup, I agree, it's gotta be a first come - first served thing and you've done a great job with setting up and running this group buy... 8) The Hub, Sorry about that mate, I didn't know they'd already been spoken for... riley, sorry for any confusion caused... 8)
  22. I have a feeling the moonroof on the '96 is actually slightly bigger.... take a tape measure to your existing one and note down the dimensions if you decide to go to the yard and give this a go so you'll know instantly if it's the correct size or not... ;) 8) Don't forget that you need to measure the HOLE on the corrado, not the panel 'cos the seal is part of the glass panel and so it's that measurement which is important! ;)

    Belts

just need a 13mm socket, spanner and ratchet... Think you may also need an 8mm (or 6mm, can never remember) allen key too so you can get the P/S pulley off if needed. It should be pretty easy to do, but be aware there's a hidden bolt on the P/S pump which may catch you out as it'll prevent you from being able to de-tension the P/S belt! It's to the right of the P/S pump brackets pivot inside the bracket with the head to the right, thread to the left (all as you look from the front of the car)
