ah, that makes life a little easier then as it's already running a digifant version engine... 8)
  2. Kinda half way 'cos most of 'em had air-con...
  3. Passat G60 syncro estate? ;) Gav swears by his now.... (or is that swears AT his?!? )
  4. Ok, here we go! :) (I was sooooo hoping you were gonna say that! ;) )
  5. check your fueses carefully... the fan run on has a seperate fuse...
  6. technically it's a GIF 'cos it's hosted on my webspace so can't be used as a normal emoticon... But, yeah, any reason I can, I'll use it! :D
  7. *cough* 0870 = national rate... ;) If you want one, lemme know, I can probably get you a good deal on one! ;)
  8. Jim, I think you mean  Welcome to The Forum CHRISVR6, 8)
  9. I've sent 'em to Lee so he can post 'em if he wants too... although I'm quite happy to if that's ok with him, just don't want to spoil the effect of seeing it in the flesh by plastering the place with pics too much! ;)
  10. KADVR6, just buy one from the stealers mate... much less hassle! I've been flicking through my photos of this car (again! ) and I just keep seeing details I'd missed the first time.... gotta say it again, it's a credit to you.... 8) 8) 8)
  11. yup, that's the one bcstudent, I seem to be annoying some of the bikers now 'cos I can kill some of 'em around the corners, out brake most of 'em (the ones with a little bit of brain left anyway! ;) ) and I don't drop too far back on any straights! I just blat up from Congleton, over to Buxton, turn around in the garage and then blast back over the top to Macclesfield and then let her cool down a little on the way back home from there... 8) Lovely scenery, but I always seem to remember it looking a little blurred! ;)
  12. yup... without the ABS brain, the scanner has nothing to talk to... :| Looks like it's time to try and find yourself a brain, Mr.Scarecrow... ;) [/wizard of oz]
  13. I'll take a couple of pics on mine this weekend if no-one else has in the mean time... 8) I've yet to put the underdash back in, so I can still photo all the bits you need to see... 8)
  14. Ah! you're a lucky one then... :D 8) makes sense for you to have done that then, for anyone else who's got old handles though, it's probably not worth the hassle... ;) Colour coding can work really well on the handles... should look nice on a red one too 8)
  15. Snap mate.... got a quote from them for around £650 before I started the final major work on my Corrado to make sure I could afford to insure it. They said wouldn't change too much over the following 3 months... until I got the renewal through which was £1109.24! Not too much of a change there then...  The best they could get it down to was £930 so I told 'em where they could shove their quote... I'm now with Flux and paying £780 with all the same benefits I got from HIC and, by the sounds of things, none of their new hassles... 8)
  16. no problems Gav... The white one in my car helped a shed load... I hope the black one I lent you helped stop you and your family from frying once they got back in the car... 8)
  17. but that defeats most of the point coolrado... it's the striker pin not being strong enough on a corrado handle that's the weak point and most people's reason for changing to Passat rears... :| I'm pretty certain that you CAN use the passat front handles, but you will need to use the corresponding lock mechanism else the stiker won't hit the correct part and so won't work...
  18. The only place to get the cable from is VAG and it's about £15... Got one the week before last... GPC may be able to get 'em, but with the postage, I doubt they'll be much cheaper... :| My throttle is also jamming and I've almost cured it now... I changed the cable which made things 100000 times better, but on my car the actual throttle body itself has worn on the housing where the butterfly spindle sits, so when you use the throttle the whole shaft twists as well as turns, and it's this extra movement that's causing my problems... I don't think this is very common though, and as my car has 250K miles on it, I'm just gonna get a second hand one to sort it out.... :)
  19. stick the nut onto the end of the thread and then beat 7 colours out of it with a hammer until it just starts to move... you should then find it'll unscrew... there's no thread as such, it just grows in something rotten... LOTS of WD40 or PLUSgas will make your life a lot easier... ;) 8)
  20. I've been playing with photoshop tonight 'cos I was mildly bored... not done a lot to this, (Lee's done more in real life than I could in photoshop anyway! ) but I like the effect anyway... 8)
  21. click on the "private messages" button up on the top navigation bar of this site, and put in "h100vw" where it asks who you want to send a message to... if you can send an email, you can use this system, it's easy... :) 8)
  22. Gav (H100VW) from on here can do them for a good cost and does a good job... 8)
