    OIL COOLER - HELP

mmmm... KER-CHING!   I do this for the love of it, not the money... just as well really! ;)
  2. you've blown a fuse mate... the run on system has it's own fuse... My bet is that the old pump siezed up completely in the end and drew too much current blowing the fuse, now that the new pump is in there, there's still a dead fuse so it's not working... 8)
  3. change was around '92, the same time the bonnet changed from being an inny ---___--- to an outy ___---___ (Look at the front edge of the bonnet and you'll see that the center section either dips in, or lifts up from the outer edges and the two pics above will make sense... ;) ) As Andy says, the wing will physically fit, but unless you put both on, it'll look odd if you've one of each on as they are slighly different widths... :|
  4. can I take 'em out in my G60 and ask 'em to call that inferior?!? ;)

    OIL COOLER - HELP

mine's down where the intercooler should be on a G60, and even in standing traffic it's more effective than the original heat exchanger... 8) Stick it next to the rad and it'll be fine, or infront and it'll still be fine... 8) You're pretty much able to stick it anywhere you like on a valver as there's quite a bit more room due to the lack of pipework for intercooler / sodding great big VR6 lump! ;) 8)
  6. yeah, there's a plastic clip just below the gator which you can just pull free once you've unscrewed the knob... 8)

    G60 starting to pop!

    1) you'll be able to hear the exhaust blowing slightly 2) with the car idling, disconnect the blue sensor, if nothing happens, it's dead and a new one will set you back about £8 from either Euro or GSF 3) disconnect the wiring plug at the back left of the engine for the lambda sensor and see if this makes any difference... if it doesn't then the odds are it's a dead Lambda... It could also be that your timing is out, but if you've not changed anything, this shouldn't have changed... 8)
  8. it should just unscrew as per a Golf one... I take it you've got a standard knob on there at the moment?
  9. humm... I've just changed over to Flux again after HIC decided that they weren't going to honour a £700ish quote I got from them 3 months ago and now wanted £1109.26! They managed to beat it down to £936 at which point I told 'em where they could shove it... Flux came in at £780 all in... 8) Not been with greenlight, but their quote was very competitive.... 8)
  10. Looks that way doesn't it... 8) Love the twin pink annodised dump valves too... :|

    G60 starting to pop!

if it has only just started to do this, and you've not changed anything which could cause it, then there are 3 likely reasons... 1) a slight leak in the exhaust system, normally close to the engine, can cause this 2) the blue temp sensor has failed and is causing your car to run rich 3) the lambda sensor has failed and is causing your car to run rich Hope this helps... 8)
  12. Andy? there's the fan switch on the back of the radiator...
  13. no more drugs for that man.... :|

    wnidow motor

sounds like the switch to me G-Lader... If it won't go up with the wires one way, and then won't go down with the wires the other, then the motor and mechanism has worked in both directions and it's just the wiring which isn't working properly... :|
  15. You can install the heater elements out of a heated set of leathers 'cos the chairs are essentially the same, but you'll still need all of the wiring, relays and switches to make it all work... :| It'll probably work out rather costly to be honest... You could always buy a blanket?  (I'm in the same situation as you... not looking forwards to winter... :? )
  16. Now, I don't like the styling of that front bumper on the white one, but I sure wouldn't mind knowing more about that engine.... ;) mmmmm twin turbo VR6... 8) Why do some of these people do these "styling" things to their cars?!? That blue "nostril" just looks silly.... :|
  17. nope, I just can't read tonight...  GTOs aren't bad motors either to be fair.... plenty of go in 'em and they are soooooo modifiable to get some awesome power figures... 8)
  18. I'd say that you need to replace the radiator thermo switch... Probably went tits-up when the coolant blew out of the burst top hose... :| They're less than £15 from VAG or about £8 from Euro or GSF and are a doddle to fit.
  19. oooh, even better! 8) I'm a recent convert to Moonlight black after I saw one at All Types down in wales earlier this year and just went nuts as the sunlight hit it and it changed colour so dramatically... 8) First time I'd seen one in sunlight... Lovely... 8)
  20. I'll go with Steve on this one... it was a VERY close run thing when I bought my Corrado as to wether I got a FTO or another Corrado... The build quality of the Corrado won in the end though... :? Yup, the FTOs ARE put together worse than a Corrado 'cos they were never really supposed to be road cars so have little to no sound proofing etc etc etc.... :?
  21. oooh, Uber-shiney! :D 8) Good work there kangarooboy, Looks fantastic! :D 8) 8) 8) Fancy doing mine?
  22. Welcome to The Forum smarkham, Nice looking car you've got there... 8) (I've always been a sucker for Black cars... )
  23. 's alright mate, I got caught out with this in my first 'rado a few years ago and couldn't work out what the hell was going on...
