Mike, the Passat Moonroof doesn't use exactly the same parts as it doesn't have the arms to lift the roof lining with the roof while tilting and has some way of pulling the screen back when tilting that the Corrado roof doesn't... They are VERY similar, but I've yet to see a Passat roof which has failed... :|

Could be a faulty ISV... Do a search on here for ISV and you'll find loads of info on cleaning and checking 'em... 8) Also, check your Vacuum hoses... Could be you may have a slight leak...

get hold of a full second hand roof, they're available from around £40... repair that one and get it painted to the correct colour and then it's a case of just swapping the two over... 8) There's no point in trying to repair yours if the panel is bent, as I can imagine that it'll cost silly money from VAG.... :| I've got an unscratched aqua blue one that needs repairing you can have for £40 if you want it... and I may even be able to deliver it to the next York CGTI meeting... ;) 8) I may have a motor too, but I'll have to search for that... 8) It needs the arm on the Passenger side replacing, which probably means it'll need the cables and guides too, but it's in full working condition at the moment, I only took it out 'cos I fitted a moon roof after it dropped the arm on my head! :lol: :roll:

stop depressing and confusing the poor bloke... He's American, so no matter which car he has and which car the engine came out of, it'll be a 2.8 VR6 with around 178BHP... It can ONLY be an AAA code engine 'cos the American market never got the ABV engine.... :|

DO NOT try and push front bearings in with a hammer... you will end up screwing up the hub and the new bearing 'cos you'll not get it in square... :roll: You may manage to get it in so it looks square, but it won't last very long and is generally not a good idea.... Getting a local mechanic a few beers in is definately the best way of doing it... ;) :D

nope... I run 7.5x16 et 30 with an 11 mm spacer on the fronts (making et 19) and they're fine and don't rub... 8) Any wider then around 8s and you may start having problems with the inner edge of the wheel, but 25et should be fine.... 8)

Etka is VWs Electronic parts catalogue... it lists (and shows!) all parts for all VWs with part numbers and diagrams.... 8) Of course we don't condone piracy on this forum, so you'll have to get hold of a legit copy ;) I'm sure someone up there can help you out... 8)
