erm, not me polog40racer, I'm not too hot on the whole ECU side of the 2.0 16V so I can't add anything here... :| (in fact, I learnt some stuff from that little lot! :D 8) )
-
OK, was worth a try! ;) :D
-
Okaaayyyy, sounds well dodgy! ;) Seriously though, spray Gunk, a thick scrubbing brush and a little time will bring up some excellent results, I've always found that the brush on gunk just doesn't quite do as good a job on engines as the spray stuff for some reason... :| I don't have the problem with rusty nuts/bolts Kev... mine are all stainless! :D 8)

*COUGH!* ;) Click this link!

I took mine to a local place and had a custom one made... I've done this with my last 4 decent cars... 8) 2 of which had to be towed to the place 'cos they weren't in a fit state to drive... (no exhausts! ;) ) I use JP Exhausts in Macclesfield 'cos they're GOOD and local to where I live... 8)

Nice one... 8) It's such a lovely feeling when you fire an engine up for the first time and it just sits there and purrs back at you... It's one you can't fully appreciate unless you've put the hard work in before-hand to get it to that stage, and, by God, does it feel GOOD! 8) :D I'm hoping to feel a similar glow again tonight when I fire my engine back up after having had to do the headgasket... ;) 8) Just watch out for the face ache that comes from the long grinning sessions you'll have when you take it out for the first drive! ;)
-
yup, I'd agree with you there... 8) I've not got one of these kits fitted to mine purely for the reason that it's sodding loud already 'cos of the induction noise and the toothed supercharger belt so adding more noise to it would just make it annoying to drive! :|
-
nah, dinkus, It's a totally different noise from a turbo's dump valve... I've heard it described as sounding like the "AHH!" bit from a sneeze (ah-choo!) but a bit louder, rather than the "pppsshhhttt" from a dump valve... If a Paxo/Slo-va/Cursor etc makes the same noise, it's got a supercharger in there somewhere... :|
-
if you'd like this to make slightly more sense, THIS is where the quote came from... ;) It's a set of bushes, by the sounds of things, to replace the knackered ones in the gear linkage and make the change smoother...

It removes the standard boost return pipe work which feeds unused boost back into the charger... The theory is that this boost will be warm, so you're feeding warm air into the charger which will decrease the efficiency of your engine. This kit is a blanking plate for the right side of the charger to seal it off and a couple of air filters to put onto the ISV intake and oil breather pipe. The waste boost simply dumps to air afterwards which makes a mad distinctive dumping noise when you let off the throttle as well as a constant whooshing noise when not at full throttle...

For an extra £300 you could have Dubwhizz's G60 Oettinger Golf... :| That Valver's tasty, but I know which I'd choose! ;) 8)

We've basically come to the conclusion that there isn't one! ;) The supercharged badge was dealer fit in the UK, so they vary from car to car... swfblade, looking good mate... 8)
-
that's also the immobiliser contact Woody, so he'd need the proper mount to be able to touch the fob onto the contact to start the car... ;)
-
yup, infront of the rad... The Corrado is easier to work on than the MKI 'cos all the front end just bolts on to give great access! 8) I'll dig out some instructions tonight after I've re-fitted my cylinder head and given the car a test drive.... :|

if you're getting brake fade, try changing the brake fluid as this is normally the cause... You'll always get LOTS of heat from hard braking as this is what the movement energy is converted into to stop you, but if your brake fluid is crap, you'll boil it, get air in there which will compress and give you fade... :?
-
It looks naked to my eyes... something missing if you know what I mean... It may look different once the number plate is in place... nicely done though... 8)
-
IIRC = If I Remember Correctly I think that the kit consists of a blanking plate and a couple of filters and it's simple to fit too... 8) He'll probably be along shortly anyway, but you can contact G-man by sending him a private message by using the button up at the top of the page... 8)

could still be a fuel leak then... I've never tested the temp of an exhaust manifold as it warms up, but it wouldn't suprise me if it got hot enough to boill fuel off in a few seconds... 8)
-
if you do end up having to get a set from a normal place, make sure you remember your drivers licence and V5 else they aren't allowed to supply 'em... :?
-
you'll need the boost return removal done then.... Ask Darren (G-man on here) for one of his excellent kits... Around £35 IIRC... If anything this will actually make the engine run slightly better so won't affect your fuel economy.... 8)
-
the exhaust manifold does get that hot after about 45 seconds or so or running... if you're smoke starts at around that time or later, then this is still a valid train of thought... If it smokes as soon as you turn the engine on, then I doubt it's this (which is why I asked exactly when it did it in my first reply! ;) )
-
yup, that's about the long and short of it... 8)
-
I sooo wish that were true... I'm knackered and can't wait for 5:30... ;)

I'd have thought it would be a complete pain in the arse... You'd have to take off the front hubs to fit the ABS rotors, Take off the rear disks to fit the ABS cages, fit all the wiring, brain, pump, pipes and sensors, and then deal with all the normal ABS faults that us poor sods WITH ABS have anyway... Don't bother, it's not worth the hassle... :|
-
on early G60's it was an option, so it's possible to get a non-ABS G60 Corrado.... 8)
