  1. I don't know of a way to cornerweight non-coilover suspension... :? The whole idea of corner weighting is to get a precise proportion of the weight of the car onto each wheel by raising or lowering each spring's seat to adjust the car's balance... I can't see how you can possibly do that if the kits design isn't an adjustable threaded coil over style... :?
  2. depends on the engine and the plug... Bosch w6dpo (G60 platinum) plugs are rated at upto 60K miles useage before replacement! :D Personally, I tend to buy 'em from a show and replace 'em annually 'cos I rack up about 18K miles a year at the moment and for £20 a set from a show, I'd be a mug not to! ;) :D 8)
  3. Umm, I thought that this suspension kit wasn't a coilover set, hence having to get the VR6 setup to get the height... :| How exactly did they cornerweight a non-coilover suspension setup? :?
  4. yup, quicktime's perfectly for me in Firefox... :D
  5. H100VW's just got one... 8) 8) 8)
  6. Golf Rallye was earlier than the Corrado G60, but is a different engine (1H code rather than PG, and subtle differences in the block itself, plus it was a smaller capacity - 1763 instead of the PG's 1781 if I remember correctly) Think the Golf G60 came before the Corrado G60, and the Passat G60 was around the same time...
  7. how the feck did they get the handbrake to work for the turn at the end?!? ;)  Great find there thevisualedge, how on earth did you unearth that?!? 8)
  8. You are correct that normally the car also needs to be insured by the owner for the third party cover on someone elses policy to be legal. If you get stopped, the part of your insurance which shows cover on other vehicles will stop you getting done for no insurance, but if you get into an accident (heaven forbid) then the insurance company may well turn around and tell you to naff off... :? It's well worth phoning the insurance company and confirming this with them... record the conversation if possible so that you have comeback in case of something going against you, but remember to tell them you are recording it first... ;)
  9. they're bonded... :? Never tried to replace one though... have you got windscreen cover on your insurance? they often cover side windows too... 8)
  10. 8) they're great if you phone 'em, just don't bother trying to email...

  12. sorted that out for ya Phat! ;) It had me confused too... :?
  13. I still maintain that it isn't possible to get in or out of a Corrado elegantly! :? My Ex used to hate trying to get in and out of my first one 'cos of how daft it made her look! :D  She was always happy when in the car though, 'cos she loved the way that everyone looked at her with a look of envy... 8) It's deffo aged the best out of all the 90's coupe offerings... 8)
  14. Welcome to the forum! 8) You may want to try resizing your pics so that they are less than 1024x768 pixels and in Jpeg format. They should then attach easily to your posts... 8)
  15. Looking good Eug! 8) It's changed since I last saw it! :D I reckon it'll be spot on once you drop it... 8)
  16. which gauges, and did you get the senders too? The VDO gauges I've got kicking around are wired as below: Clock has permanent live and earth. Oil pressure has 3 terminals, Ignition live (+) earth (- or upside down T) and sender wire (G) Oil temp has the same, Voltage just needs ignition live and an earth. They also then have a blue/gray wire to the illumination lamps and an earth from them too... All earths can be shared as can the ignition live, which can be sourced off the back of the stereo's wiring. Illumination power can be tapped into the fag lighter's illumination wire (normally a similar colour to the blue/gray of the Audi's wiring) They you just need to run a wire from the gauges to their respective senders in the engine bay to get it all to work... 8)
  17. fiddly, but pretty easy, yeah.... 8)

  19. I swapped my injectors, FPR and chip in under 90 mins, and that was taking it easy 'cos I'd never done an ECU chip before... 8) The pulley's also pretty easy to fit too...

    Corrado 2.0i 16 Valve

Knock sensor is normally on the front of the block with a 13mm headed bolt going through the center of it to the left of the dip-stick tube... 8)
  21. It's likely to be a good one then, 'cos the mechanics wouldn't have to pay labour or Corrado Tax on the parts! ;) 8) Just wouldn't take a car I owned to a main dealer anymore after one too many bad experiences... :|
  22. ..not as bad as J plate Vauxhall Astras... :? ECU, Main Beam, Hazards, wipers and fogs all on the same earth strap which wasn't rated to take all of 'em being on at the same time!  Recall time for that slight foul-up!
  23. Dane in Chester? :| Heard some not good stories about their service department and pricing... :? Personally, unless my car already had a full VAG service history, I'd find a good local garage from peoples word of mouth and get your car serviced there... Odds are that most specialists know more about Corrados than a dealer would these days....
  24. Good call bcstudent, 8)
